We went on Xmas- reservation at 2 pm. We were a little disappointed that the full menu was not available. Instead it was the brunch menu until 4 pm. This left little non- brunch choices. Although the food was terrific- my husband had a hamburger. Not special for Xmas and we would have preferred a larger choice. Service is wonderful.
The Branzino was excellent, well worth the price! Would dine here again.
The food was unreal!!!! Makes everything else great
Food was not as good as we expected.
Horrible. We arrived at our reservation time at 5:30. We ordered apps and dinner at 5:45. Our apps came out about 30 minutes later. But...By 7:45 we still had not received our food! 2 hours!
We finally had to leave for an even we had, without dinner. It never came!
I had been to The Florentine before Goodman Theatre, but it was always on a Saturday evening. This visit was on a Thursday evening, and what a difference in noise levels. The noise, primarily from the after work bar crowd was so loud, we could not carry on a normal table conversation. The meal was quite good. I do wish the filet was not served on a bed of mashed potatoes. Next time I order it, I will request the kitchen to substitue a green such as the broccolini. Service was personable and the pastas were delicious.
Our server was very personable and was always ahead of our needs. The food was very good. I recommend this restaurant.
The food was amazing. Try the squash rings. I was skeptical but they were amazing. If you are going on a night the pre-theater menu is available, it offers an amazing bargain. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Highly recommend.
We stopped in at Florentine before going to the theater. The prefix menu is outstanding! Three sumptuous courses all served fairly quickly with the idea of getting you in and out in plenty of time to make it to the show. I enjoyed the Caesar salad, the beef fillet (+ $10) and ice cream for dessert. My daughter enjoyed the same salad, the Scottish salmon which was outstanding and mango sorbet for dessert. Both of us were in gastronomic heaven! Keep doing what you do at the Florentine.
My daughter and I wanted a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner and we had a delicious meal at Florentine. The waitstaff were very attentive and the atmosphere was quiet and elegant.
Food is typically excellent. But this visit food was really over salted. It won’t stop me from going back again, as this seemed like maybe just a one-off.
Great food and service. Go for yourself, group or business.
Really nice atmosphere with some exciting menu items! service was very good and wait staff knowledgeable.
Very pleasant atmosphere and food is excellent
The food is always delicious here. We like Hugo as our waiter.
There were 3 adults in our party & we enjoyed delicious brunch items - eggs Benedict, pancakes & French toast. They were beautifully presented & tasted fabulous. Our server was very attentive. We will definitely return.
Above average for a hotel restaurant. We were there for brunch. Service was attentive and friendly when present. They have some fun Italianate dishes on the brunch menu. The brunch Amatriciana should use guanciale and not pancetta but it was tasty. The eggs with truffle and pecorino were excellent. The chai was also really good. The breakfast donuts were tasty too. Overall would recommend in this area especially appreciated a decent but quickish brunch that left time to go to Art Institute before the ballet matinee.
Was pouring rain, so wanted to stay close to where I was staying and found a gem right in the hotel! Excellent food and service. Watched a manager who looked just like my brother visit each table to add that personal touch to the dining experience. Highly recommended!
We reserved Based on menu choices online and when we showed up and were seated they said they only had a small menu that night due to the Marathon. We would have expected to get a notice or something as there were minimal choices and the portions were extremely small for the prices . Our waiter was ok but didn’t offer desert or anything to make up for our disappointing night . We had planned in advance as my son was running the marathon .
We had to wait for almost an hour for our meal.
I was there for the Chicago Marathon. They had a limited menu which I appreciated. The kitchen could not keep up and the wait was a bit longer than one would expect. All and all it was fine and I got the pasta I needed for the race but would not recommend for any special occasion.
Very nice place, well decorated and quite large. Food is very tasty and staff very accommodating. We really enjoyed it!
Closeby to the Lyric Opera.
Always Excellent service.
we had a great experience at The Florentine. The manager was highly involved in everyone's service experience and made himself present which I really enjoyed. The food was good, we really enjoyed all of the wait staff's recommendations. I would 100% return!
Wonderful evening where they made the birthday one of us was celebrating special as well. Friendly staff, food was excellent.
Excellent food and service! Would highly recommend.
Meal was just okay.
Great restaurant, amazing food & service
I love this place for a work lunch. Haven't done dinner yet but would like to. They are polite, efficient and the food is good. They do a great job for weekday biz or casual lunches. No pretention.
A business associate started at the bar for happy hour, having one drink each and getting a free pizza as part of the happy our special. We had the sweet corn pizza and it was excellent. We then moved to a table for dinner, ordering the crab shooters via a cucumber roll per se as the edible shot glass. It was a light and refreshing as far as appetizers fo. We split the Branzino and mushroom risotto both of which were excellent. Nice bottle of wine too (Chianti - il Molino di Grace), which we shared.
Food was good. We had the salmon. The dessert was the panna cotta and was just sweet enough.
This was a great dinner. The food was delicious and the service was great. They accommodated my dietary needs (certain allergies), and when we didn't have time for dessert (we had to catch a show), they sent us home with a couple cookies for free. Would absolutely recommend this.
We celebrated our 32 wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty. Our server Angel and the matre d Gil made our experience top notch. All the servers worked as a team.
Everything from the service to our food was absolutely 5- star! Very authentic Italian food which my husband and I can’t get enough of. It was his birthday, and we were greeted with a handwritten card from the Florentine staff wishing him a Happy Birthday. As if that wasn’t sweet enough, we were also given two complimentary glasses of Champaign to celebrate the occasion. Our waiter was so attentive and did a great job in explaining the dishes to us. We definitely will be back very soon!
Lovely dinner. Great service all around from Manager who seated us, waiter was truly great, back waiter everyone was so nice and accomodating. Would highly recommend.
Good food, lovely decor, great service
I had a delicious salad with grilled chicken and various fruits and berries. Very healthy but also tasty. And service was very good and friendly. Plus the restaurant is attractive and not overly loud. Excellent business lunch venue.
Food just "OK". Typical salad with way too much dressing.
The food, staff, and ambience are spectacular at the Florentine Room.
One of the best Italian meals ever. And we’ve taken pasta classes in Florence!
