This operation is not ready for reasonable sized crowds let alone heavier traffic meal time. Extremely slow kitchen and understaffed wait service which induces lost orders and no follow up. Get more help in servicing and kitchen staff. Too bad for a great location.
Excellent as always. Great food and great atmosphere.
We sat as five people but only 4 settings. Had to ask for fifth set up. Took quite a while for server to check on us initially. I actually had to get up and ask the hostess if anyone was going to come to our table. This is a place I have gone to often but last two visits, one before pandemic and now this one, service not the best, not particularly interested in providing a good experience. Food was not the hottest as there was a delay in between bringing everyone’s dinner. Not the best experience overall. I would still recommend it as I hope things will improve but don’t think I will be back.
Seated promptly at the reservation time. Provided menus then water. No server came for 40 minutes while other parties seated after us ordered, received drinks, and received appetizers. When we finally were able to flag a waitperson there was an apology that assignments had been changed. Unfortunately the experience still did not improve with the wrong wine served. Salads arrived okay but no offer for pepper, etc. After another more than 40 minutes chicken Parmesan was served cold and dry likely after under warmer. Pasta with the meal arrived about 10 minutes later. One pasta entree arrived after the others had been finished. Again toppings like grated cheese did not come until several minutes later. Water glasses were not filled for over an hour.
This is our worst visit to Florentine in 21 years. No manager even took the time to speak with us.
Server was just not a very good server, we had to wave her down for everything.
Having gone to Nando the night before, The Florentine was a big letdown. Nothing really special, in terms of food or service. Instead of fresh grated parmesan, you get it in a shaker. Instead of tasty, savory Bolognese, you get mostly bland. The waitress seemed like it was not worth her trouble to go to our outside table when there was a very light shower. Oh and my son ordered a dish with Fusilli and got Linguini. Meh.
Too many mistakes and problems. Slow service, missing orders, cold food, bathroom door lock broken.
Food was subpar for the north end.
Everything was outstanding. Food was great, good portions. Was very busy and I thought the server did a good job working all her tables. Only bad thing was it’s a little to dark and could not read the menu, had to use the cellphone flashlight to see.
There was no flavor in any of the food
They need to use seasoning at least basic
Amanda was a great server! Food was delish
Great time! Everything was wonderful! Reservations helped tremendously. One of the best restaurants we tried in the North End. Setting was wonderful.
Food was just incredible
We reserved a table and got table near the kitchen so we asked to change a table and the lady was nice to change it quickly, however other staff were very unfriendly and looked like they are forced to bring us napkins or new utensils. Food was ok, but not great. We’re disappointed and will check another place next time.
Everything was great. Service, food, ambiance.
Mom’s birthday. Lobster ravioli was awesome. Bruschetta appetizer was less than average.
food was average-- I have had much better and more authentic Italian food at other places in the North End. The drinks were good. The outside seating atmosphere is cute. The service is not good. They seem understaffed and the hostess was not friendly when she greeted us for our reservation. Our reservation was at 12:30pm but the lunch options and appetizers were not available until 2pm! I don't that makes any sense because that is late enough in the day to start serving the full service menu. It seemed like nothing that we wanted to order was available. Overall, I was expecting more from such a cute location.
We made a reservation and arrived 5
minutes early. It was a bachelor party of 4 and the hostess seated us immediately. I felt like we had the best seat in the house. Through drinks, appetizers and a great meal we could not have had a better waitress. She was attentive, funny and just very good. The meal was awesome and we enjoyed the open air environment. Thanks to the staff, chefs and owners who gave us a great dinner!
Definitely gastro-pub food Italian style, not your authentic gourmet meal. We got a table by the french doors, nice spot to people watch and catch up with friends. Server tried to do his job, definitely over worked, serving too many tables, not attentive at all. Gave us the check and never even bothered to ask if we care for desserts or anything else...
Meals are OK, the place served its purpose for the occasion.
Great food and location in Boston's north end. Arugula salad was especially delicious!
Great food and service. This is our favorite North End restaurant, been there many times.
Good was very good as well as service and ambiance. Really enjoyed our dinner !!
Love this place! Window seats are amazing! Great service and food! Will be back for sure!
I was disappointed as I have always loved it here. Service was really just unacceptably slow. Some of the things we ordered didn’t come and silverware was not replenished so we couldn’t eat even when food finally arrived.
Buen ambiente, rica comida
Food and outside atmosphere was amazing, but our table was too close to loud people.
Food, drink + ambiance were outstanding- perfect night in the north end. Service took review down some notches. Hostess was snippy + impatient with us + others, and our server added an additional $50+ in invalid charges to put bill - likely trying to scam us. Then when we paid + asked for the total amount including the tip to be charged on a card, server tried to add 20% gratuity to the amount we already indicated was inclusive of gratuity. Shady/dishonest tactics.
Celebrating a birthday and wait staff was very attentive. All dishes were delicious but one was a bit bland. Noise level was high but very pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be back
Food was nothing special. The sauce was bitter; veal parmigiana was thick and had no flavor. We won’t be back.
Horrible service. We will not be back.
Very average Italian food- nothing special. They have a nice outdoor seating area and it’s fun to soak in the atmosphere. But the service was very slow/ inattentive and the food was just so so.
Second time eating here, and again, everything was spectacular! The food was amazing, the service was top notch. The restaurant is clean, and has notable romantic ambiance. I would recommend Florentine to anyone I know heading to the north end for a night out! Thank you :) We had a wonderful evening.
Great food and service. I'll go back
All the food we order was delicious! We especially liked the lobster ravioli. Enjoyed sitting by the open window. Feels like your eating outside with the protection of being indoors. Will return!
Great food, excellent service and reasonable prices for the North End. And we got to sit by the open windows in the front, which is fun!
Food was ok
Excellent venue for outdoor seating in the North End, quality food at a reasonable price, and great atmosphere!
Great location in the North End with outdoor seating. Caesar salad and meatball appetizer were average. Rest of food was good but was expecting better.
The seating inside by the open windows on a sunny weekend is pretty hard to beat in the North End. Our server was very accommodating of multiple food allergies and coordinated several options with the kitchen. Will definitely be back soon.
