   Pros: I loved the speakeasy, dim-lit ambiance and antique decor. Cons: There was a 30 minute intermission where no live music was played. The service was slow and I didn’t have a drink during this time period so I was just sitting there bored. There was electric guitar and piano, but I was hoping for some brass instruments as well. I ordered Mac N Cheese and the noodles were hard. It wasn’t cheap either.

   I've been to FR a few times and LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE and this is my first time having dinner. The food wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The server didn't know much about the menu when asked. He was very nice and attentive in service, but lacked skill in describing the dishes or knowing the portion sizes. He described short ribs as - this is the plate size and drew the size of the plate and drew cubes on the imaginary plate. He also described the 28 layer chocolate cake to the flatiron building. Which is odd and doesn't explain what the cake really is. Is it dark chocolate or milk chocolate. Ganache? Is it sponge cake? Is it super sweet. Mildly sweet? Warmed up? I have other descriptions of the food that he described, but I'll move on. Overall, I still love this spot, but not sure if I'll have dinner here again. Also, it was freezing there. I don't remember it being that cold. I'll just come for the music, ambiance, and long list of drinks for my friends that drink.

   Brought my parents here on a date to celebrate their birthday. They had an amazing time and exceeded all my expectations. I love the excitement they came out with me. Best place to bring whiskey lovers !

   We ordered a bottle of wine and 3 apps. The bill was 400 because the least expensive bottle was not available and the bartender said no one has ever ordered that. Clearly it was not stocked and the bait and switch was on. Fool me once! That is criminal

   The Flatiron Room is a very cool place, live music was great a bit less the dj set that started at 21:00. The food was good even though portions are quite small. Prices are inline with NYC standards. Only negative note, the service was quite poor… maybe they need more waiters, the were very kind but too busy and it took very long to reach them.

    Definitely recommend making reservations in advance. When we booked, I found it helpful that their website provided information about the performers and links to watch samples of their music. This helped us decide on the day and time we wanted to attend. The place is beautiful. The service was on point and their food was really good. Appetizers PEATED SHISHITO PEPPERS - Maldon Salt, Sweet Kecap Manis with a Bruichladdich Dipping Sauce -loved the presentation and how they were smoked. FLATIRON TRIPLE MAC & CHEESE Cahill Irish Whiskey Cheddar, Gruyere, Cotija, Shredded Brussel Sprouts, Toasted Sriracha Panko -My favorite!! CRISPY PORK BELLY 6 oz. Pork Belly, Charred Tomato, Bibb Lettuce, Spicy Pomegranate Glaze - Very tender and delicious! Entrees STEAK FRITES 8 oz New York Strip, Truffle French Fries, Milam & Greene Bourbon BBQ Sauce, Fizzled Leeks - Loved the fries and the steak was tender but needed a little more salt. FRENCH ONION BURGER Allen Brothers Short Rib and Brisket Blend, Caramelized Onions, Gruyere Cheese, Dijonaise, Au Jus, Simple Green Salad -You need to ask for fries if you want. It was very good. Special- The half of a roasted chicken with mashed potatoes Dessert HAZELNUT GROVE Hazelnut Sponge Cake, Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse, Toasted Pistachios - Loved this!     The service was great. The food was high quality and well made. The menu was somewhat limited, but that didn’t detract from the experience. Picky eaters may want to check the menu ahead of time. The food prices were in line with what’s expected at a higher end establishment in Manhattan. The bar and wine can set you back but that’s also to be expected in the area. It was a really good vibe, something different with live singers and musicians. It was the most memorable stop on this trip to NYC for me. XOXO - Sydney

    Went to the Flatiron Room on May 8, 2023. We had a six-thirty PM reservation. Oddly, when we arrived the hostess told us that we could only stay for 2 hours. We did not plan to stay longer anyway but the thought of asking you to leave after two did not sit well for an enjoyable evening. First, the room was overly dark where one almost needed a flashlight to find the restrooms. The noise level was loud. It was difficult to maintain a conversation both from the noise of the other patrons speaking very loudly and from the band that had the volume amplified too loud. I suppose that would encourage you to leave if nothing else. The desert we ordered was The Flatiron Room Sphere which was good. Overall, the music was too loud, the table talk from surrounding tables was too loud and being told to leave after two hours left us with a less than an enjoyable evening.

    Absolutely wonderful experience! The servers were so knowledgeable, the flights were fun because you get to have a back story along with tasting notes and more. The whiskey selection is awesome, the vibe is great, food was delicious and cocktails were creative. Hands down one of the best evenings I have ever had.

    Wow, and I mean that in the worst way possible. This place was such a disappointment. The promise of the restaurant is a classy place to order a streak, sip on pricey bourbon, and listen to live jazz. In reality, it's run like a price-gouging theme park restaurant. For a place that promotes jazz entertainment, why on earth does it blare club music? We politely asked them to turn it down, and they said no. Company policy. I explained that we couldn't even hear each other at the table, so they turned it up louder. The expensive food came out cold. The sides were a joke unless you consider five pieces of arugula a salad. Mercifully, the club music stopped, and the jazz trio began... which turned out to be the cheesiest version of jazz imaginable. Think cruise ship. This restaurant is such a misfire on so many levels. I could go on and on, but the place has already wasted too much of my time and money. All I can say is stay away.

    We were celebrating our anniversary and we wanted it to be special, but it wasn’t because waiters were rushing us and wanting us to order eat and get out. Even though the live music was great the atmosphere was ruined. They were interrupting us every couple minutes to ask if we are ready. Very bad.

    Great live entertainment and ambience. Food was only ok, but reasonably priced. Service was good other than welcoming us by telling us what time we were required to finish (which is really more about the service than our preference). Good place for a date or special occasion.

    We had a fantastic night. I ordered the pork belly and found it undercooked, but everything else was terrific. The service and drinks were excellent. We would have loved to hear more live music instead of the DJ.

    I was shocked at basic issues being present. The service was great. I was a little sad about her whiskey knowledge. Then as the meal was finishing to be told there are no available deserts. My wife asked for a simple B&B and was told they don’t have it with no recommendations. I had been so excited to go to this place from stories on whiskey pod casts that I was just let down.

    Too noisy. Couldn't hear my guests at the table nor the jazz singer. Didn't enjoy it at all. People at the bar were loud. Also the AC was too high and was too freezing. Won't go there again nor recommend it to anyone.

    Ambiance and decor was very cool. We enjoyed the live band, however when they took breaks in between sets, very loud club music was played. It kind of ruined the ambiance for us. Perhaps some jazz would have been more appropriate. Food and drinks were good but nothing outstanding except for the prices. For $16, I think you should get at least double the fries they give you. Cocktails were decent. Waitress made us feel rushed and kept taking our plate away before we were finished. Overall, I would not return.

    We were rushed out after 2 hours even though we were still eating our entrees! They started clearing dishes we were still eating. This was unbelievably rude considering it took the waitress 20+ min to even acknowledge us and it took a long time between apps & entrees. Although we had just received another drink the waitress told us for the 3rd time that we had to leave due to the 2hour limit. Terrible service considering how much we spent and the fact the food was mediocre at best. Never coming back.

    I booked a table to bring my parents and family here and was nervous that the description said "no view of the stage" since we went for the jazz trio and ambiance. We were pleasantly surprised that we had a private booth in a nook to the side of the stage and loved the privacy and that we could hear each other! Loved the ambiance and the band. We ordered the fries and they were pretty good. The drinks however were tiny for the price, and I live in NYC so I know when a cocktail is worth $22, but this was not it (and it shocked my guests). The blackberry gimlet was weak. Staff were friendly and attentive.

    We came here for my birthday to hear live music and get cocktails and the musicians played for about 15 minutes when we first arrived and then said they were taking a break but never came back on. The rest of the time we were there the restaurant played unbearably loud music so we couldn’t even hear each other. We ordered food and drinks but the food menu was very strange and not cohesive. We got steak frites and shishito peppers. The steak was way overcooked and had bbq sauce on it and the peppers had a very weird flavor (we usually love shishitos). My husband ordered a dirty gin martini and had to send it back because they forgot to make it dirty. Overall - one of the worst places we’ve been to in the city. Definitely do not recommend
