The Flatiron Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful dinner, as always! We had a last minute addition to our party, and the Flatiron accommodated us without a problem. The salmon entree was delightful, as was the sea bass. Service is always prompt and courteous, and we made it to the Orpheum in plenty of time for the show. The Flatiron is one of our favorite restaurants in Omaha.
I had the sea bass which had outstanding flavor! My partner had the salmon which was prepared exactly to his liking.
For Valentines Day the restaurant was serving the Silver Oaks cabernet by the glass. Although the cabernet would not have been our natural choice with seafood, it was definitely a highlight for us on the drink menu.
The restaurant was full, but the service was well-paced for a leisurely night out.
Everything about our Valentine's Dinner was perfect. The FlatIron focus on the customer's experience is obvious. No wait for reservation which is almost unheard of. We especially enjoyed the side dishes that accompanied our entrees. The Shittake mushroom and fingerling potatoes were our top pick. Will defintely return.
We had a wonderful time at the Flatiron for our Anniversary and Mike, our waiter was amazing! He understood the menu and the wine list, making recommendations that we trusted! I had the Sea Bass, which was so good and sweet and my husband had the salmon with Soft Shell Crab which was incredible! It’s A wonderful place to dine not just eat and leave. Plus the restaurant is so welcoming and pretty! Looking forward to eating there again soon!
Our first visit to a restaurant we found online. The food choices were excellent and the food presentation was wonderful. Staff was extremely helpful with parking options as we struggled to figure out how to pay at the meter. The staff member actually came out and told us where we could park for dinner and for leaving our car while we attended the theatre. The entire staff was courteous, friendly and attentive. We will definitely return when we travel two hours to attend the theater.
We ate here before a performance at the theater. Got right in with reservation, service was great, and the food was excellent. Really enjoyed the squash appetizer, and the old fashioned was one of the best I've had (kudos to the bartender). They also made sure that we were able to finish with plenty of time to walk to the theater. Will be back.
I'm from Vancouver, WA and go to the Flatiron every New Years Eve with my partner, brother and his wife and 2 young twins. Have done so since the twins were born and just had our 5-year "anniversary" of going there. I love to eat out and travel a great deal so consider myself very fortunate to experience a wide array of dining from the quick sandwich to a 5-star cafe. The Flatiron is no doubt one of my favorite stops in the US! Everything about the dining experience is outstanding: food, presentation, ambiance, service. And we were fortunate to have Colin as our waiter this time. He was wonderful with the 4 and 1/2 year old twins (and with us adults as well). Already looking forward to NYE 2018! Ann
We have been going here 1-2 times a year for the last 4 years. As always the food was great and the chef is amazing. The only disappointment was during desert because they no longer offer the chocolate tulip cup. This was what my wife and I look forward to on our anniversary but it is no longer available. Maybe need to find a different restaurant. Wife was really disappointed on our anniversary due to this.👎 I know it is fairly small issue but it was important to us.
Had a great meal. Wait staff asked if we were going to Orphean that night so they could have us there on time. I had steak, cooked perfectly. Wife had salmon with soft shell crab which she said a delicious. Had gone by it so many times, finally said we are going to eat there before on of the plays, and were very pleased.
This is a destination in Omaha that everyone needs to experience! The ambiance is one of a kind, as is the food. Drinks were tasty and the food absolutely delicious. We were a bit late for our reservation to due to an accident on the interstate, so I highly recommend having a reservation. Located near The Orpheum, it is a special place to stop and have a meal or even a dessert and coffee before a performance. It is quaint, elegant and a one of a kind place. They were busy, yet attentive. Appetizer was awesome, as was the soup. Entrees cooked perfectly. Only draw back was seated by the door/entrance — which got a little chilly from time to time when the main door opened for people coming/going. Price you pay for sitting by the door and living in Nebraska in the winter. Overall, this is a wonderful special occasion place and you will have a great experience!
