Fantastic anniversary diner. We had lobster and steak. Lobster was fresh and sweet. Filet was melt in your mouth delicious. The best meal we have ever had in 25 years in Omaha. 2nd generation of family owners doing great work.
Always a treat to get the chance to have dinner at the Flatiron. If we find ourselves in Omaha for an evening this is always our go to spot. This night it was made even more special by the Fireworks going on at the mall. They had been postponed from New Years Eve (too cold and windy) to our dining evening Jan. 5 instead. So we had a fabulous meal against the backdrop of fabulous fireworks over the Old Market. Thanks Flatiron....we hope to see you again soon.
Delicious food, outstanding service from staff who were personable, very engaged and helpful at every turn. A great experience!
One of the finest small, elegant restaurants in Omaha! Always a solid choice that does not disappoint. The menu is creative and the staff knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely worth a trip to downtown. Perfect for any special occasion. We'll be back soon!
Love everything about it! Great food, service & atmosphere!
We discovered this place several years ago and it is our go to place for very special occasions. The food is wonderful and the price is well worth it. I will keep coming back.
Very professional and comforting, excellent food and service. I love the atmosphere
We ordered the beef tenderloin and Cesar Salad and both were delicious! This was our first visit and we for sure will be returning.
The Flatiron Cafe is superb and our favorite Omaha restaurant. We will be back with friends, soon. Thank you for asking us for feedback.
The entire experience was lovely for our date night. The food was perfect. I ordered the beef tenderloin, my husband the ribeye. Both cooked as we ordered and full of flavor. We look forward to returning!
Exceptional service and food. Nothing more needs to be said!
We met friends there for an Anniversary Dinner. I had the duck which was superb, my husband had beef medallions, another delightful dish. My husband and I and Our friends loved the attentive service. We liked the quiet of the restaurant as well.
Overall, great place, friendly staff, superb food and great atmosphere. The only down side is the prices seemed a bit high when compared to similar Omaha higher end restaurants. Not a big deal, but a bit of a damper on the overall night. Also, the special sounded great, but it was $80, and the price was only provided when asked. That’s kind of a “buzz-kill” for a fun night. Later, we wound up talking about the ridiculous price of the special more than the positive aspects of the dinner.
Wonderful food and service
Cute place close to the Orphic my theater. Food was great waitress was very good and friendly
The Flatiron Cafe prides itself in being a great place for special occasions, like anniversaries. This was our 50th anniversary, noted when the reservation was made, and never heard "boo" from anyone. I place part of that blame on Open Table, but I also mentioned it to the Maitre D when we arrived. We had much bigger fanfare last year on our 49th. Very disappointed.
Had a Christmas gathering of family (6 ) and the Flat Iron Café was a wonderful choice ! Great for conversations and super service ! The food was exceptional , everyone loved the meal and our time together . Will most assuredly be back for another meal . Very nice wine list, unique apps and excellent cocktail selections. Very pleasant evening was had by all .
Mike our server was fantastic and added to a great meal and anniversary dinner. One of our Omaha favorites.
The service was outstanding and the food was amazing.
An absolute fantastic dining experience.
Food, wine, ambiance and service were all amazing!!
Franny, made our evening more enjoyable than ever imagined.
Thank you to all at the Flatiron Café
Owner and her son/daughter are wonderful hosts!
Phenomenal experience, overall! The staff was friendly, inviting, and had extensive knowledge about their menu!
Very quaint downtown restaurant with creative menu. Usually not very busy unless peak weekends. Very personable service.
The Flatiron is always a wonderful choice for a special occasion. Service was pretty slow the night we visited. There were three tables of large groups so that might have impacted the timing, but there were also only three tables of two people dining, so not packed the night we were there at all. Our waitresss would disappear for long periods of time. Food was good, drinks were good. We were there celebrating our anniversary, and while I indicated that on our reservation, we did not receive the usual free dessert for such a special occasion. But the dessert we did get was excellent!
It was a fabulous meal- our table ordered the tenderloin- the salad was perfect & the calamari appetizer was amazing !
Great, attentive staff. My one (and only) complaint was that the chef was VERY heavy handed with salt. Five hours later I'm still craving water
Always a perfect evening at TheFlatiron! Wonderful food, ambiance & service!
As always we had a delightful evening with absolutely wonderful food!
The grilled steak tenderloin was the best I've ever tasted. The lobster bisque and the crème brule also! Fantastic!
The Flatiron feels like we are being welcomed home. The service is exceptional. The food is always real good. A great place to stop at before going to the theater! My only grip is the menu. Now do not get me wrong for what the do there with their menu is absolutely excellent. All the menu items are excellent in taste! We would like to go more often but we do not because we like to try different dishes and that is not being done at this point. I have already recommended things like pairing menu's changing on a regular basis. Add a few Italian specialties , and other ethnic items. I would also add a few classic continental dishes such as Lobster Thermador, Beef Wellington to mention a few. I believe by doing the above mentioned additions they would increase their following at least 2 fold. If you agree please let them know. We have being going to the Flatiron for many, many years and do not want to stop. It is our go to place for any and all occasions.
This is a great place to take the wife for date night or before the theater. Great service and food every time we go. John our server was outstanding. Made good recommendations, was friendly, made us feel that we were his only table.
The food was excellent! The service was not acceptable. Our server asked if we were going to the theater and since we were he said he would get us out in time. Everything took twice as long as it should have. It really bothered me when guests who came in after got their food before us. They were even leaving before us. I wanted to have dessert but did not have time. We got there before our reservation at 5:30 and left a littler after 7:00. It took about 20 minutes for my husband to get a refill on his ice tea.
It had been many years since we have eaten at the Flatirion, and I'm really glad we have rediscovered it. We have been there twice within the last few weeks, and both visits were spectacular!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. They always do a fantastic job with the food and service. The Tournedos Beef, med rare, could have cut it with a fork and had a great flavor. The Salmon was a good as usual. The French Onion Soup and Lobster Bisque Soup were super. We will be back.
As always, the Flat Iron was a great experience!
The Flatiron is our "go-to" place for pre-theatre dining. Always delicious food, great wine, and superb service. I wish they had a few more wine choices "by the glass", although we frequently order a bottle and bring home what we don't finish.
Wonderful dinner and fantastic service! One of my favorite restaurants in Omaha! Staff is friendly and warm. The food was phenomenal! We will be back soon!
Usual outstanding experience. One of the best restaurants in Omaha for many reasons. Highly recommended. It is our "go to" place before any plays and concerts at the Orpheum Theatre.
Outstanding food and service at this restaurant. Everything from ambiance and noise level was perfect. Excellent excellent excellent!!!!
