Drinks were watered down. Cool look but not a lot of action when I was there. Music was mostly techno at the time, which was not what I was expecting considering this was supposed to have Cuban flair. BF agreed the interior reminded him of Cuba though.

The music was good; however, the service was very poor. The hostess was rude and condescending, and we eventually left the place. From all the places in Chicago we have experienced, this is the first one we have given poor reviews for very poor service.

We had the table for 2 hours which was clearly stated when making the reservation, but the hostess kept coming over reminding us even after we were waiting for our check like she was trying to rush us when there were other tables open. Other than that, the servers were amazing and attentive. They were helpful in choosing drinks and recommending them after asking what we wanted. The drinks were amazing and the ambiance is great!

Skip the food, overly salty/inedible. Our waitress forgot to bring her brain to work. This is a drink, live music/dancing type of lounge - don't eat and don't stay too long.

Completely disappointed. Was sat in a corner and was told no tables were available when i specifically asked for a table but was instead provided with A TABLE THE SIZE OF A LARGE GIORDANOS PIZZA. It was “booked” but for 2 hours the tables were empty. My reservation was at 8 and was told the “dancing” started at 9:15 and that was a blatant lie b/c the dancing started after 10 when we only had less than 30 min left in our reservation (which we were reminded twice about before our “time was up”. Waitress had to bring another mini pizza table to support our 4 drinks and shrimp cocktail because there wasn’t any room. The “dancing” was sub par. The 2 dancers in the balcony were not in sync whatsoever and were dancing to Christina Aguilera, umm isn’t this a Cuban inspired spot? The table of guys across from us danced better than the dancers, to the point where one of the HOUSE DANCERS was rooting for the guys dancing! LoL Shrimp and tuna dip was sub par. I wanted to love this place and ended up hating it. I was embarrassed to have dragged my friends from out of state to waste our time here.

Celebrated my birthday with friends and had a blast. Great ambience. Delicious drinks. Food was not good and would be my only complaint. Outstanding service. Loved the live dancers and dj played a good Latin variety for Havana Night Thursday. I'll be back!

Was a cool space because of the decor. Drinks were also delicious. We went for cocktails and had a reservation at 7:30. Barely anyone was there, maybe 3 other tables. It seemed dead, but I guess that's because it was early. It was also a beautiful warm night, and we found ourselves wishing they had a patio. There is no outdoor space here at all. I'm sure it's more fun once the party gets started later in the evening. I would recommend this place as a first stop if you're on a date night, just for a drink. I don't think they serve meals/real food. Just appetizers.

fake Cuban....weak and expensive drinks, poor customer service--not enough wait staff Also, we had reserved regular table and when arrived told only hightop available, finally got them to allow us to sit in a regular table but we could only have it for 1 hr 45 min (instead of the typical 2 hour maximum). What place does that? Music just Ok and band took lots of breaks, and they would play NON Cuban music. dancers entertaining Overall would NOT go back there

The Good: My group enjoyed our time on a Saturday night for a birthday. We went early (8pm) and while the place was only half full, the energy was great. The drinks were pricey (~$13), but we expected this. The entertainment of the dancers and musicians was great. There are limited food items to order so we ate beforehand, so I rated it in the middle. The Bad: The lower rating reflects 1) the server telling us at 9:45pm that the next reservation had already arrived (remember, we got there at 8:00) and that we had to leave our table. When I questioned this, she added that there was a 2 hour limit per table. I pointed out that we had not reached our 2 hour limit and that we planned on staying until 10pm . This was the first we had heard of this and we were taken aback because we were actively ordering drinks, dancing, having a great time, and had no intention of leaving. 2) our bill included a SERVICE FEE ($36 for the table) that we were not informed of prior to making the reservation nor ordering. When we inquired about this fee, the server said "No, this is not gratuity" but also could not explain what is WAS for. The absence of explanation of extra fees and asking us to leave were inexcusable and ruined a good time. Therefore, both of these experiences made a nice time end with some annoyances. Just FYI before you go that you should to check on any time limits or fees that may apply.

When they seated us they told us that we could only have the table for two hours as they were overbooked. They said you can stay but you must stand and drink! Of course they want you to stay! I said nobody told me there was a two hour table limit. I received a text and phone call confirming my reservation and it was never mentioned then either. I asked to talk to a manager, and he never came. Promptly at the two hour mark, they put our check on the table. We paid and left. As we were leaving, we noticed several empty tables! I had been there once before...I can tell you with certainty that I will not go back after this experience!

We made a reservation here for 8:15 for a birthday weeks in advance. We went to the bar to wait on our table and ordered drinks. The drinks were tasty and the bartenders were friendly. We left a little after 8:45 since our table was still not ready. We were so excited to try this place out, but left disappointed.

Myself and three friends were very excited about checking this place out on a Saturday night. We got seated right away for our table reservation. Place wasn't exactly what we imagined (based off their website and instagram). It was definitely just like every other nightclub, and every now and then a short dance from a cabaret dancer was performed. Just like any club, there are some rowdy drunk people - that's expected. However, one woman was very intoxicated and kept approaching one of my friends trying to, what we thought, dance. Except she did this by consistently touching and basically groping her all over her body. We brushed it off and laughed, but she kept coming back and blatantly grabbing my friends breasts and body more and more. We then had to flat out deny her and tell her to back off, so she stomped off to the manager. She started accusing us of trying to steal her table, and apparently flirting with her husband. None of that happened, as we definitely didn't want anything to do with the crazy lady. And we had our own table, no need to steal one. So to resolve the issue, the manager made some security guards kick us out. None of us have ever been kicked out of anywhere before! Security wouldn't stop apologizing, because they saw the entire thing happen and knew this drunk/drugged out woman was off her rocker. We asked to talk to the manager, Jameson, and he refused to do so. Security handled everything so nicely and professionally. They felt so bad they event let us go in to the heated vestibule to wait for an uber and made sure we got in it okay. They even said if we were to place a complaint, they would defend us because it was also all clearly caught on cameras. The place already did not live up to the hype, and Jameson acting like a little pansy made it that much worse. So basically this place is nowhere near worth it!!!

I love the idea behind the club; however, it could've been executed a lot better! For example, the music selection is horrible. If this is Cuban inspired there shouldn't be hip hop and club music playing. It should be Cuban - there is such a great selection of Cuban salsa for example. Nice idea to have dancers, poor choice in outfits. The outfits reminded me more of middle eastern belly dancing outfits than Cuban outfits. The food selection should all be Cuban. The selection was more Hispanic/ Latin vs actual Cuban food. Top vieja and media luna are not the only Cuban food choices out there. The club has so much potential, they should really read everyone's comments on here and start taking notes!

We had an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday. I read in other reviews about the live music and thought it might be a cool unique place to check out. The music was SO blaring loud, I couldn't even hear the hostess upon entering. The space wasn't even half full at the time, so loud music made no sense. It was immediately obnoxious to try and yell over it. We had one drink, which came quickly and our server was very nice, which is what I gave 2 stars for. It's a cool space, but I wouldn't go again. I'm surprised after all of the reviews management doesn't consider turning it down and creating a more comfortable ambience.

They advertised this as having a Cuban vibe, live cabaret and good rum cocktails. Instead of Latin music they played rap, and the cabaret was just one girl without rhythm dancing to rap, a little too similar to a strip club. It also smelled like a strip club and the waitresses were dressed like bimbos. The cocktails are $13 or so and not great.

It was all great until one of the managers, tall, dark, and with a funny mustache. He gave my friend and I sass and attitude. He kicked us out of our table on the claims that we had been there for "way over two hours" We arrived at 9:10 and he approached the table around 10:50pm. When he said that I corrected him and said that we had not been there for over two hours and that I didn't know there were limits. He responded "giving me attitude is not going to help your situation" He was so rude. We decided to take our business elsewhere. Besides this was our second time there and the performances and acts were the exact same as our first visit. They need to change it up a bit. It will get old quick.

It was a little odd. They have an old-fashioned made with Guatemalan rum that is absolutely fantastic. The place was absolutely dead until about 845. Inside definitely has a Cuban vibe that was fun. There's a first floor with a balcony that overlooks it. This is where the musicians and performers are. The Live music does a song or two every 30 minutes. The man who sang the Cuban song was good. But then, there were women dressed in belly dancing outfits, feather crowns, doing amateur sexy dances (almost like they were trying to do burlesque or they were stoned on acid) to Latin-ish music. It was definitely not Cuban dancing. Or, even Latin dancing for that matter. Then, Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" begin to play on the sound system, which is an absolutely fun but very bizzarre because a woman and a blonde platinum wig was trying to do snake like sexy dances to it. It's worth going for the old fashion and for the experience where you shake your head and laugh and say I just don't get it. However, I don't plan an entire night around this place.

Fun decor, great service, and delicious drinks. This was a great destination for a girls night. We didn't have food, as they have a limited menu and focus more on the hand-crafted Cuban cocktails. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun night out and great cocktails.

Great drinks and excellent service. The food was a little overpriced for the quality that we got. The live music was great, we wanted to dance but there really wasn't any designated space for dancing, so we ended up dancing elsewhere.

Don't go here unless you want to get hustled. I had a reservation for this place on my birthday. I was only able to make it for six people which was fine as other people that were showing up to meet me there understood that they would have to wait inline to get in if they didn't have their own reservation. So when I arrived with my group of six the bouncer said he could not let me in because there were already 12 people that came in under my name. So I asked him why he would let people in under my name if I was there? He couldn't give me an answer. I told him that when the hostess called me to confirm my reservation I asked her about other people getting in on a list and she explained that they don't do list, and that I would be able to get in without waiting in line with my six people that I had on my reservation. Which is totally fine and I understood that. Again, let me remind you that I let other friends know that they'll have to just wait inline to get in. In addition, I had a reservation for six people and the bouncer let in 12 people under my reservation. How does that make sense? So then he proceeded to tell me that because there were already 12 people inside and I now showed up with my six people that I originally planned on for my reservation the only way I could get in was if I got a table with a minimum of $500. No where in the website does it state that you have to have a minimum of $500 for a table. I tried calling the place several weeks before my birthday to find out details of minimums, etc... as it's not listed anywhere on the site, and you can only reserve in open table. So I finally agreed to pay the minimum because the manager ensured that I could get a table for 20 people. We get in and he gives me the furthest table all the way in the back corner or the club, and it only fits about 10 people. I felt totally hustled. I'm glad that once we got in and saw the location of the table and size I backed out of giving this place any of my money.

It's a great new place, love the ambience! Dinner I wish there was more to choose from, not everyone likes seafood.

Great music and awesome vibe! Really loud so not ideal for conversation. Limited food options were disappointing but the drinks were unique and delicious!

The concept of the place is great, however it fails in two key things, first if its supposed to be a Rum Club with Cuban/Latin vibes, the music should reflect this ALL NIGHT, not just small segments, if we wanted to go to a club that played top 40 music (and loud) we would've gone to any of the other lower priced options, reason we wanted to check the Flamingo was for what it sounded what it was, why be like all the clubs? I suggest having better music (old school salsa, ever heard of Buena Vista Social Club, Fania and the likes?) and also it was extremely loud, I had to sit next to my husband to talk to him. The food was underwhelming, very small portions and got even taken fast from us (we didn't finish it, when plates were swiped) our server took for ever to bring us stuff or take our order. If they could improve the music and food, I'd love to come back, the swanky vibe in this place is promising.
