   We always love to spend our Thursday evenings with the crew at Fixed Gear for their bingo contest! Hillary & Zach have grown to become our friends and we (me and my friends) have been regulars for a while now! Great food, plenty of beverages to choose from and a great overall place to check out for sure!!

   I have been coming here for years and it was always a great experience. This one visit there was two floor staff. We were never visited, I had to go to them to order. Each time we asked for napkins, or drinks, we were met with the “it’s only me” reason for slow service. We waited an hour before I went looking for our food. I found it sitting on a table near the stone oven. I then was given my food and expected to bring it to my table. Our pizza and pretzel was room temperature at best. The place wasn’t busy. When leaving the server did nothing to apologize for her abysmal service, except watching the baseball game. Another table across from us faced the same problem and had to get their own drinks and later their meal. It was incredibly disappointing and to be faced with the bill, it was hard to fathom why we paid full price for a crunchy pizza and stale pretzel. No fault to the chef, just poor service and no attempts to remedy the problem. We will return but our trust in the quality of service is not great now.

   We made a reservation 2 weeks ahead on open table for 5 people to watch the indoor comedy show. When we showed up they “couldn’t find” our reservation and acted like it was a mystery. After some discussion they said that Yuk yuks had taken over the event and required a cover charge, so they had phoned all open table customers to let them know. This was not true I received no call. In fact my friends who were waiting at the front door heard the same conversation happen with other people who had reserved on open table. Again staff acted mystified at first when they knew full well what happened. They put us outside and said they would broadcast the comedy show so we would still hear it. They opened the door, which I would not call broadcasting. Very poor service to not honour reservations made weeks ahead.

   When we arrived, they had no idea we had made a reservation. The patio was dirty and cluttered. The server was great, but when we went to pay our bill, another server charged our friends for an extra pizza when we had already paid for our food . Note; they didn’t bring us a bill, just asked us to go to the bar to pay. No bills were ready- they asked us what we had, and then overcharged. Wood fired pizza was ok, nothing special. Loaded with cornmeal on the crust.
