Service was top notch. Food was good, but over priced for what you get. Nice place, again, the service was great, but over priced.

We were the only customers for the entire lunch time ...??? Therefore service was very good. Large portions, almost too large but very good.

We had brunch following a one night stay, the brunch selections were well prepared and the service was wonderful. It was very busy and there was a computer problem which made the staff run to the bar to complete transaction. Brian, our server was very busy, but he made us feel comfortable and well cared for. The other staff worked as a team bussing tables and providing coffee. Nice team approach.

The seasonal changes to the menu were wonderful. The duck dish and the pork chop were plated well and tasty. The service was great. Hats of to Mary. We also had brunch the following morning, the food was yummy and Brian as our server was very busy but did an excellent job in making his customers feel well taken care of...

We waited for 40 minutes to get our meal.
My Hangar Steak was exceptionally tough!
John, our waiter, gave us a complimentary chocolate pie...which was fine.

Jason Gorman has outdone himself! I was reminded of his fabulous meals when he was at Dream Dance and this menu didn’t disappoint. Flavorful, buttery tender steak, creamy risotto with the ever amazing burrata, inventive and delicious Chinese pigs in a blanket...so many wonderful dishes and I can’t wait to return to try more. Jennifer Gorman’s take on the strawberry pretzel bar was out-of-this-world and truly put the cherry on top of the evening’s meal. Not to ignore the other details: the gin rickeys were refreshing and perfectly crafted, the ambiance was exactly right, I loved the music selection and the service was spot on. A winner!

Waiter was wonderful. Food was a bit salty for our taste. Hanger Steak was on the chewy side. there is not a dinner salad on the menu but they made them up for us. We'll go back but we'll tell the chef easy on the salt! Desserts were AMAZING!!

Dined there for the first time. Loved the Art Deco ambiance, the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was exactly as described, an inventive take on traditional. Same as the cocktails. Will be back!

This was my first time at the Fitz; it was so easy to get to from the Kenosha area, we will definitely be back! We came for Brunch and the experience was wonderful. Our servers were all very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu options. There were so many good looking/delicious sounding items on the menu; it was hard to choose! We ordered the Neptune Omelette; it was hot and very delicious; we also had the cinnamon roll and it was to die for, as were the mimosas!

I highly recommend the Fitz for Sunday Brunch - it was a perfect way to start our day and was a great location for a casual meet and greet with a new employee who was in town. I can't wait to come back to check it out for dinner!

I am hoping the restaurant will improve with time. Unfortunately we will not be back.

The remodel, though some what over the top, kept most of the beautiful Art Deco style. Music was fitting to the era.

Our service was so poor and our waitress was not at all knowledgeable about the menu, I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say that it must have been her first evening on the job.

The entrees were expensive and disappointing. The hanger steak was extremely salty. The creamed spinach side with a potato chip topping was runny. The concept was good but the cream and spinish never meshed. The trout was "just okay" with the side of plain white rice. There is nothing on the menu for a picky palate, not even a side salad. There was nothing on the menu my 9 and 15 year old grandkids would even try.

However, the deserts were phenomenal. Homemade by the chef's wife, they were amongst some of the best I have had in the city.

Beautiful room! Lovely ambience! Lovely staff and service. We drove in from Chicago and the evening was well worth the trip!! Even the staff outside the restaurant-the doormen and the hotel staff who had nothing to do with us-(we were not guests at the hotel)- were very personable and welcoming. We appreciated the historical memorabilia that we could enjoy. Even the ladies room was charming!
A thoroughly enjoyable evening!

Had been to this location's previous incarnation (Envoy) on a couple occasions and thought it was an okay place in a terrific, restored Art Deco gem of a hotel (The Ambassador). Now, The Fitz, is a worthy companion to the hotel. The Gatsby/F. Scott Fitzgerald dining space is warm and inviting. We ordered pre-dinner drinks that are classics from the menu (Manhattan, whiskey sour, Old Fashion). Entrees were inventive twists on fish, steak, pasta and duck. Chef Jason Gorman helped deliver entrees and generally worked the room to ensure all was well with diners. All was well.

Dinner was excellent. Chef Jason Gorman has taken a number or the "old classics" and put a modern twist on them. Every dish had a beautiful presentation that complimented the ingredients. The staff took the time to explain each menu option - a great aid in the decision making process. My wife and I highly recommend going to here for dinner.

What a gem in Milwaukee. John our waiter was excellent, the menu was creative and balanced. The house Gin Rickey was a great take on classic cocktail. We'd go again.

Food was very good. We would advise the chef to have better descriptions of the dishes. The duck dish listed green curry as an ingredient. Turns out it was green curry gnocchi. The Vegetarian dish was described as a pie. Very young Vegetables were presented on mash potatoes. Pie??

Thank you F. Scott Fitzgerald, not just for The Great Gatsby but for the inspiration for the Ambassador Hotel's new look and restaurant The Fitz. Chef Jason Gorman has proudly demonstrated his culinary genius again, from each appetizer like Rumaki, Waldorf Salad, Crab Louie Salad, to incredible entrees like duck marinated in hibiscus tea, and Spatchcocked Chicken with black garlic butter. With the help of his wife, a phenomenal pastry chef, your palettes will crave more! DO NOT let this restaurant pass you by, Milwaukee show your love to Jason, his fabulous team at The Fitz and this incredible restaurant. Another Milwaukee gem, thank you Chef Gorman. We had a marvelous dinner tonight!

They have a very limited and unexciting menu. They have recently reopened so I hope that it's just a transition menu. The decor is nice but not as open as previously. Will certainly give it a second chance in a few months.

My wife and I ate at the Fitz during its first weekend after its re-opening. We ate early as we were on our way to Summeriest. Because it was new, it was a holiday weekend with many local activities and our early meal time, the restaurant was not crowded. I am sure that will change once the word gets out. We had a wonderful dining experience. The staff was attentive, received complimentary appetizers and dessert and had delicious healthy dinners. We'll definitely return and encourage others to try out this new restaurant.

The Fitz is a nice remake of the Envoy. The food was tasty and creative, and the service was very good. Lots of attention to small details. We shared two bottles of wine and both were very good and nicely priced. The music could have been better. If they're going for an Art Deco sensibility, then it should have more elegance to the selections. As it was their first full day of being open, they get a pass and we did discuss it. They seemed very open to opinions of guests and seemed flexible enough to want to meet higher expectations. One feels very welcome and they get high marks for everything about the evening.
