We had such a wonderful brunch here. It was my second time at the Fitz. I enjoyed the first experience so much I jumped at the chance for a reservation that gave us just the right time to have a meal prior to attending a performance at the Marcus Center. Great food; service; and atmosphere.
Had a 6:45 reservation. It was pouring rain and in the seven highway miles from our house to the restaurant there were three accidents slowing traffic. Yet, we arrived at 6:58. Our reservation was cancelled at 6:57. Twelve minutes late!! (We were seated anyway but that's not the point).
Servers are friendly and helpful. Menu is limited-no entree fish
What a wonderful dining experience ! We had great service, food was scrumptious and the ambiance very romantic!
I met up with a group of friends to attend the Elton John concert. We are from Chicago and were staying at the Ambassador, I chose the Fitz for us to have dinner. We were all very happy with the server, the food, ambiance, etc.
Love The Fitz...good food, good service, good ambience, easy parking. (I only commented on breakfast and brunch because those are the only meals I've tried...I'm sure lunch and dinner are just as spectacular.
Our server John was outstanding and the food was delicious. We loved our visit. My only issue or suggestion would be towards the atmosphere. It was very close quarters, the tables crowded together. I know it’s a small place but the space between tables could be a little more. We felt on top of other patrons and it was no issue over hearing conversations. I felt the need to murmur and whisper while conversing with my husband. Other than that, wonderful visit
We had a very nice time. The drinks and dinner was great. A little noisy but that was because it must have been homecoming for high school kids.
Fine dinning to the max
We had a wonderful brunch. The food was good. The hotel looks really grand again.
It was our second time here, and can't say enough about this restaurant. We really like the retro 1930s night club decor. The service is very good. The food is excellent. Dishes are creative takes on classics without being annoyingly trendy. This time we particularly enjoyed the sweet potato and goat cheese appetizer and the pork shank dinner.
Waitress was amazing! Food was fab as always!
The dinner was nice. I was expecting something a little different but overall it was a nice experience.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone! It seems a bit intimidating with the fancy decor, but the staff is amazing and the food is delicious!!! They have a large fenced in parking lot and if you eat there, they have a shuttle service that will take you downtown to shows or games. Check with them when you make reservations and let them know your plans and see if they can accommodate you!
Great location, awesome vibe. Put it on the list of "must go" places.
My wife and I had a nice dinner at the Fitz. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and professional.
We had a last minute +1 to our reservation and the accommodated us without issue. Chance, our server was attentive and helpful without being over the top. The selections were fitting to the variety of dinner guests. Everyone enjoyed their meal and commented and the atmosphere of there space. There is some great history there too.
The food was excellent. The presentation was quite satisfying. Last but not least the service was exceptional!!
Fitz for Family and Old Friends
My friends from college were in town visiting their adult son. I suggested we meet at The Fitz for lunch because 1) the food is DELICIOUS and 2) I knew they would LOVE The Ambassador once they saw it for future stays. And I was right!
Of course the atmosphere was terrific and so was the food. We had a delightful lunch catching up on old times over cheese curds, salads and maybe a Gin Ricky or two...
The food was great, the menu actually had lovely normal food without six ingredients I didn't recognize (this needs a winking emjoi), and we loved our waiter, Chance. We asked and they turned down the music...(this needs a smiley face)...we're all recommending The Fitz to all our friends.
The brunch menu has drastically changed, and I can’t say that it was in the right direction. The offerings were sparse (few options, and fewer still for vegetarians or GF). Food was heavily salted.
The restaurant was convenient since we were staying at the hotel. Service was very friendly and helped to make this a special breakfast. My omelet was average. One of the guests had the french toast and really enjoyed them. Another had the eggs and hash browns and he thought they were very good. I feel it was the best breakfast around.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful bar and restaurant. We were reserved to eat at the bar but it was packed for our 7pm reservation. We were given a table promptly in the dining room which was fine. Service was good not great. We had to prompt our waiter for more drinks with our dinner which was strange given that initially he stopped by the table fairly frequently. His visits just kind of dropped off after that... We had the Fitz burger and it was DELICIOUS. I would go back to a hotel restaurant for their burger and that's saying something. Cocktails were also quite good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone staying at or visiting the hotel. Great location if you have a concert at the The Rave/Eagles Club across the street.
Delightful dinner and great service from Chance
Our server (unfortunately I don't remember her name) was outstanding! She went out of her way to accommodate us. We had arrived just a few minutes after the kitchen had ended breakfast service, but she persuaded the chef to make an exception. We truly appreciated her going the extra mile.
The restaurant, food, service etc was excellent. The only problem was that Open Table hassled the restaurant about our credit that we presented, making me sit around after the meal for quite awhile. I would rate open table a big fat F.
Our server, Stash, was amazing--so attentive to every detail and need. Food was great!
Beautiful restaurant with delicious options for brunch. Though if you like coffee, skip the carafe here it has a burnt after taste like the burner is too high. The family share brunch option is fulfilling and delicious with a pile of pancakes, French toast, meats, hash browns, fruit salad (delightfully not honeydew heavy!) and warm syrup. Drinks were disproportionately expensive compared to the food.
The quality of the food was very good, although my wife’s steak came under cooked. Our waiter quickly corrected that and was very apologetic. Otherwise the service was outstanding.
Reasonable prices. All around great service! Food was fantastic! We were shuttled from there to the Tenth Street theatre and our driver was also amazing and waiting for us when the show was over!
We were staying at the Ambassador for the weekend, and ate at this restaurant. It was my son's graduation that weekend from Marquette and we loved that we could have a really enjoyable meal without driving downtown, parking and dealing with the crowds. Our party of 7 absolutely loved our meals. We really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and our service was wonderful!
Mother’s Day brunch. $45 pp. All food either cold or barely warm (reservation was at 10:15). Quality very low across the board. A tip jar at the carving station? On the plus side the table setting was lovely and the room bright with an open feeling yet very low noise. Service was good.
The food was exceptional, The filet was done perfectly. the service was great, our waiter was extremely friendly, and bantered with our group. The overall experience was top notch, and it's not easy these days to find a nice place, with great food, great prices, and great service. At least 1 of those categories usually suffers, bit not at The Fitz. I will definately be back!
This is our fourth time visiting over the last few years they've got away from having some extra items on the menu by the chef so the food turns out to be just kind of ordinary for example I ordered bacon but it was cool and not crisp I ordered eggs over easy were kind of hard around the edges but with that said the atmosphere is nice the waitresses are great and we do enjoy going there so we probably will return I hope they improve the menu it could do some updating with some special items from the shift chef'.
It was a great way way to have dinner with friends before a concert at Miller Park. We were hoping for a dinner menu, but we understood the need to do quick meals as many guests with reservations were headed to the same concert. Service was quick, friendly and accommodating! I ordered the short rib grilled cheese sandwich and it was yummy!!
It was very nice enjoyed myself immensely.it was really a great lunch out it was quiet and very , warming atmosphere.
Scratch made Corned beef hash, the perfect answer for brunch - great service, wonderful food
Everything was just fine, but one crabby waitress which was not our server, seemed very angry when two small children joined our group and we needed to get two more seats. It was a birthday surprise and I didn't know they were coming. She made it seem like it was very difficult to figure this out and made them sit at another table far from us. On the other hand our server got us plates and forks that we used for a cake that we brought. That was very nice. Overall the place is very nice for brunch. good coffee.
The dining room looked lovely. Our server was the right amount of attentive. The food was delicious and generous. We will definitely be back.
Went for brunch on Sunday. The wait staff was great! Our food was all delicious and served promptly. We didn't feel rushed, however, when we wanted to linger after we finished eating. Would definitely recommend.
