The Fish Market - San Diego
Wonderful service and food prepared by Jose at the Oyster Bar - my colleagues enjoyed the experience so much!
When your reservation is at 6:15, you shouldn’t be waiting for a table at 6:30 and reminding the hostess that you have yet to be seated — especially when there are lots of empty tables. Service and food were good. Check-in could use some assistance.
Fresh great tasting seafood coupled with awesome service.
Celebrating my brother in laws 73rd birthday.
Sushi bar is where I seat every time
The food was not worth the cost.
Very busy and very loud....waiter was fair. Would probably look for another place next time.
The food was good and great service. We will be back.
We were given a great table in the outdoor patio. Beautiful view and noise level was low.
the mesquite grilled seafood was tender and good. but the swordfish tacos were too spicy and not flavorful. we were looking for a dish for 2 or 3 that included a sampler plate of crab legs, shrimp, lobster . but you didnt have that. Our waitress was very good but she didn't tell us her name.
My two girl friends and I celebrated one of the girls 70th birthday with a wonderful dinner at the fish Market. The service was awesome and we plan to return.
Three of us loved our dinners. One of the people had fish and chips and she said there was too much breading on her fish.
The Fish Market never disapoints!...The service was awesome!...The food was scrumptious!...And the view is my favorite!...There is absolutely nothing better than a delicious meal overlooking the bay!
Always a pleasure to go to The Fish Market. Great location, fantastic service, outstanding food. Whenever we go to San Diego, we try and have dinner here. Starting with drinks and finishing up with dinner (never have room for dessert!), we always look forward to another wonderful experience.
Our group ordered cioppino, clam bake, blackened mahi, oysters and shrimp. Everything was excellent.
Good food, excellent service and a great location, right on the waterfront next to the Midway aircraft carrier museum.
Great food and views. Customer service was great too.
I have eaten at your restaurant many times....this visit was very disappointing,
Did not get the table I had requested and was ushered to a table with not even an acknowledgement of same.We were looking forward to our clam chowder as this is a fav of ours...guess what?We were served 2 cups of some kind of water, flour, uncooked. Our spoons stood straight up in cup. This mistake was rectified and waiter brought us normal chowder. My daughter had the bass at $45 and I had the Alaskan halibut at $34 .........Come on!! Ketchup and bad hollandaise for condiments.Very poor. Your prices are outrageous for the quality of food you serve.
This is our second time eating here and the wife absolutely loves the food. Generally not a desert type person she loved the creme brulee. We make a point to get here at least once each time we visit. The service is outstanding and they are always great at helping with suggestions.
We had a baby with us and we chose the resturaunt to celebrate her one year birthday. Three of us adults had eaten there before. Its one of our favorites!! We requested the patio outside for the weather was just beautiful at 4:30 pm. Our seating was perfect; around the corner at the end with the glass wall to view the harbor and all the boats going by. We had rainbow trout, shrimp scampi, calamari, etc, etc. delicious!!
Everything was perfect from the host at tge front to our server.
Although the service was quite slow (I noticed that seemed to be a trend in San Diego) our server was delightful and respectful. Our entrees came out before our oysters and I asked the server about this, he stated he completely forgot to put the oyster order in and offered to buy them for us. He handled this well and owned up to his mistake. Would definitely go back if ever back in San Diego!
This place has amazing seafood and a wonderful selection. A bit on the noisy side but it's fun. Not bad scenery either! All in all, good times & good food.
My Fiancée and i visit San Diego at least every other month . Dining at the Fish Market is a must.. Amazing views, great service and atmosphere. My favorite dish is the East Coast Style Clam Bake, so flavorful and delicious! Will definitely dine here again.
I was very diappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great place to go for a variety of fish. Dishes are very tasty! Just have the garlic cheese bread...you won’t regret it.
Food was xcellant, we sat in the bar so it was a little noisy, and when the door to the patio opened it gave us a little chill. But overall a great meal
Best seafood I’ve had in awhile! The crab cakes and mesquite grilled scallops were amazing! Also had calamari and grilled shrimp which were both really good. The snickerdoodle cookie dessert and apple dessert were both so good but we couldn’t finish them. They’re definitely shareable.
Fish dinner came with a vegetable medley, however it did not come with the listed vegetables. They were also overcooked. Same can be said the both orders of fish; monkfish and yellowtail.
Reserved a table on the patio and it was ready for us even when we arrived a tad early on a Sunday evening. Plastic straws are only available through the bar; we aren’t fans of the paper ones that make your drinks taste funny and dissolve in them. Our food was very fresh and tasted delicious, just not happy prices keep rising.
Love the food and the server was great with my Spanish speaking family!
The food was average for the price. I had to return my over cooked halibut which was disappointing considering the price. Management tried to address the issue but when these things happen it spoils the overall mood, and the reason for eating out together. So I just opted for canceling my order all together. I don't mind expensive but everything has to line up, otherwise whats the purpose of overpaying for a small piece of fish.
Requested for my catfish to be fried........it was not thoroughly cooked. My meal was comped as it should have been. They offered to remake it, I declined.
Great food with an amazing view. We were seated outside right over the water. The food was hot and fresh. Service was a little slow but food and views made it well worth the wait.
Good service; good view; food just okay; touristy
Lucked out getting the best table. Outside dining on San Diego Bay is perfect in September
Food good, service not so. Ordered a bottle of wine when ordering our meals. Waiter brought a glass of wine for my wife a while after our 2 dinners had been served. I then said although I had ordered a bottle, that I would settle for a glass of wine as well. Waiter added this to the order but then proceeded to serve other customers in our section ,including clearing their tables as some had finished their meal. My glass of wine came almost at same time I was eating my last mouthful.
Certainly not a cheap place to dine so would expect a far higher standard of service. The staff just need to be more thoroughly trained. Will not return.
Fabulous view, the most beautiful fresh fish and Kevin our waiter was great
We had a great booth outside. Our server was very attentive and took our order right away. The food was excellent as usual. Our friends had never been there and said when we next get togher it will be at your restaurant.
Gorgeous view very friendly service and delicious dinner & dessert!
All the food we ordered was very good. However when we arrived we were told that the menu from the sushi bar was available to all diners as well as the regular menu. We were in the mood for sushi so when we ordered from our server we were told that special approval would be needed because the sushi restaurant is a separate restaurant from the main restaurant which contradicted what we were told by the hostess.
