The Fish Market - Birmingham
Excellent service. And excellent and more than enough food.
Child’s catfish was not fresh. Tasted fishy. Baked potato had been over cooked and was dark yellow. Other items were not was expected from a fresh fish menu.
Great birthday experience.
Great seafood reasonably priced live music
Service was really not good
Food was good but slow to come out and took over 15 minutes for our cocktails to arrive
Waitress table service very slow. Could walk up to counter and order and sit down faster than sitting at a table waiting for food
We are big seafood fantastics and just had the absolute worst set of seafood. It is possible that our mistake was dining on a Monday where you typically have all of the D players working. Food was inedible and We actually had to argue the quality of the food with the “on duty manager”. Way overpriced for food and service. Like another person said in his review - better seafood is found at Captain D’s.
Food was good but atmosphere felt cold and dirty.
Great food and service. Noisy and hard to park but worth the hassle
Great food. Good service. The noise level was high, but that's because there food is great, and there were a lot of customers
Incredible fish medallions! Everything was delicious. I’d highly recommend.
Always delicious fresh fish and wonderful gumbo. Retail fish counter also excellent.
Took a group for my son’s graduation.
We had a semi private room and had a great time. Great service and food. The snapper throats were fantastic.
Food was like eating captain d’s
Cool building and history but the food was just ok. I would not go again. Cioppino was only average with little flavor and not as much seafood as expected. Best thing were the hush puppies - so go for hush puppies and a drink but save your dinner for elsewhere.
Mother’s Day, so many people, servers handled it well
Even though I had a reservation, we were still 20 minutes late being seated. I believe that we could have been seated faster if we had gotten a number.
The worst of the experience was, we had our Mother, who is 92 years old, trying to celebrate Mother's Day. We sat for a while waiting for our meal and everyone was served except for my Mother. We kept asking our waiter about her food, he would go "check" on it, come back and tell us it was coming right out. She finally received her food after sitting for one and a half hours after she ordered and only then because we found a manager that could get her food. No one enjoyed their food because we were trying to get my Mother fed.
We usually cook for Mother but this year decided to take her out - worst decision yet!
We ate here for Mother’s Day. We had a reservation for 1:15, but weren’t seated until about 1:40. We weren’t too upset by this, though, because it was super busy; however, it took us over an hour to receive our food after we ordered. We didn’t leave the restaurant until 3:30. While the food was tasty and enjoyable and our server was friendly, this restaurant didn’t warrant the 2+ hours we spent there.
Waited an hour even with reservation to get seated. It kinda jades the rest of the experience. Food was ok compared to usual. Servers tried their best. Hostess seemed unable to figure out how long reservations had been waiting.
Restaurant needs good cleaning . Floors in dining room and restrooms were greasy. Was mother’s day. Food and service was good.
Absolutely a perfect brunch for our Mother’s Day celebration! The food was amazing
Great service and fast. They did a great job and the food was amazing. Please give them a try
I’ve been to this establishment several times and it has always been good. Today was a complete bust. Our server was a very sweet lady that should probably retire. Our salads came before appetizers. Our appetizer showed up at the same time as our entrees. The food was possibly the worst restaurant dish I may have ever had. I’ll go back again, and hope it has improved. If not it’ll be my last trip.
They were great! Accommodated our large party arriving late and in shifts from graduation in Tuscaloosa. Food was delicious and service was excellent.
We cancelled our reservation as we walked in and opted to sit at the bar.
The bartender was amazing and served us, despite how busy she was, with a great attitude.
The ambiance is a little casual compared to my expectations.
The food was good but not great. The value was superb though.
9verall, we had a great experience and have already suggested it to friends.
the service was quick and very professional. Not a long wait time. Used the online reservation app. HUGE portions. Was very pleased and would recommend to friends.
The portion size is very generous and the food tasted great
This restaurant was incredible! Very casual atmosphere but top notch service. We went for lunch and had an incredible meal of fresh fish with so much flavor!
Took over an hour to get our food. Our waitress got our order and then disappeared. We asked to speak to the manager. Kelly , the manager came over and informed us the kitchen was backed up but they would check on our order. We never saw Kelly again. We had to ask other waiters and the food delivery guy for refills. The only person who apologized for the slow food was the gentleman bringing out the food. One entree got to the table 10 minutes after the other dishes were delivered. The waitress told us because of the delayed food orders, the late entree and one beer would be credited. Very poor management of the situation.
We tried this restaurant years and years ago and were unimpressed. Tried it again Tuesday, and it’s still the same. Bland, soggy seafood. Expensive lesson learned. Got the Bang Bang shrimp, the charbroiled oysters, and the red snapper. None were worth eating more than enough to keep from starving.
Very good server, friendly and highly competent. Otherwise a three star for wait despite having reservations; quality of food and zero privacy
