Great food super fresh sushi. Would return for sure
When I arrived at the restaurant the Hostess stated that she didn't see a reservation for me, it was no problem but I wasted my time setting the reservation. The waiter was exceptional he was very attentive and went above and beyond for my friends birthday. I expected the Fish to be more packed but overall it was a good experience. Awesome Fried Bananas and Ice Cream.
The experience was amazing! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. Linda the manager/bartender was awesome and on point with her service. Our server was very polite and professional!
Everything was class the wine was also good.
The food was really horrible and I got the sense that it was the standard and not the exception. Felt like a time warp circa 2004 with bad music, dated furniture and neon liggting. Really disappointing experience.
I love The Fish! This is our go to place when we need a break from kids or our date night. The ambiance is really cool, the food is amazing, I love all their apps and sashimi and the sake and most importantly if you come on their reverse happy hour! The service is great, we have a waitress there that we adore, I think her name is Jennifer or something, she knows us already and she remembers what we like to order there, she mare sure also we have drinks all the time. All in all, I'd like to come to this restaurant and bring my husband or girl friends.
Father’s Day Dinner
Great food, slow service
I think quality has gone down a lot at the fish. Ordered hot tea. Came out cold and still got charged 3 bucks....
Portions are on the small side, but the quality of food is pretty good. Located around other shops and restaurants, which made it convenient to walk for dessert.
The service at The Fish is very good and they are very attentive. The bar is very good for a upper mid-tier sushi restaurant. The fish selection is outstanding, plenty of Otoro, Chutoro, Ankimo and Kampachi. The uni was was excellent and was billed as Santa Barbara but it was smallish for Santa Barbara. The sashimi orders are large, five pieces. The Chutoro was on the high side for the quality but not crazy. This will be my go to weekend sushi place.
Went here for Reverse Happy Hour. The sushi tasted good and was fresh. Roll options on the happy hour menu were more geared toward western tastes and most items were fried or mayo-laden. I was able to order one tempura fried roll as raw instead which I appreciated. Overall good price and flavor for a satisfying a sushi craving.
Was very yummy . Haven’t been here in a long time but happy I did go back 😋 I love sushi
Every item was phenomenal and the waiter was very attentive. I came for a business lunch meeting, so it was nice to be able to hear everyone at the table. I will definitely come back for date night!
First time visitor. Loved everything! Everyone made you feel welcome, food and prices were great, restaurant and bathrooms very clean. Wish there was one located near the Texarkana area. Great job everyone!!
Great. Love Linda
My girlfriend and I had a Valentine's dinner at the Fish. It was a great meal for us; we both enjoyed the food and surrounding. We order much food and the bill was not too bad, much less than what I was expected. I would definitely come back.
A fun sushi date for my wife’s birthday. Casual experience, with a nice setting.
Not much to say that was memorable. In knowledgeable staff. Mediocre-to-tasty recipes, spartan interior. Average, and a bit high-priced for the portions, but in the location it’s not too surprising. Positive note, the fish was fresh and great quality, so perhaps a good dependable sushi place if you’re in the area (living/working often.)
Nice little spot, good sushi, good value house sake. I’d say a tad overpriced on some of the menu items but overall good.
Went for dinner with another couple. Waiter was on his game and the food was delicious. Look forward to going back.
Parking was early via the Valet too...
Just felt average to me, not special, not horrible, just average. I went for a dinner (2 people) and the noise level was not loud, but there was also quiet a few empty seats in the place so it was relatively empty (can't complain about availability). I would not recommend the sangria, it was not very good, but all of the food that we ordered was great. Service was very fast, nothing wrong with that if you looking for a quick bite.
went there for a date. Our waitress was outstanding. her name was Linda. we took our time and she remained attentive without being pushy the whole time.
Excellent fresh sushi.
My beautiful date and I had a fantastic time. The ambiance and atmosphere let us have a great meal and great conversation. Definitely a date night restaurant!!’
We just went out. Nothing fancy. We had a pleasant experience. Good service.
Good experience at the fish. Rated highly by a sushi expert (my wife)
We had an amazing time! The Fish is a GREAT RESTAURANT!! and HOUSTON STRONG for 16 years!! They are proud of their GOOD REPUTATION! Zachf’s review is way out of line! We LOVE THE FISH!
Don't bother. Too many other good spots to waste time on this one
Met a friend there for lunch and we were extremely pressed for time. They got us in and out in under 30 minutes...and the sushi was very fresh!
I’m definitely returning!
Fun sake menu. Good but not amazing food. Server was friendly but should have known more about the menu.
Absolutely love this place. Wonderful service and impeccable sushi. Will continue to dine here!
We love the Fish and their happy hour menu! The waitstaff is always friendly and accommodating.
All very good. We love sushi, so this is another option for us. Fish was fresh and adequate size portions.
Upbeat sushi spot in Houston, TX. Fun to visit on a date, for happy hour with friends, or a special occasion group dinner. The restaurant is centrally located and near fun places to hit up after your meal. I would recommend taking an Uber as parking can be a bit tight in Midtown.
For girls night out, I always choose to go to the fish because of food, service and ambiance.
I really enjoyed the sushi. I also ordered the pork katsu with curry and was not real fond of it. I am pretty picky since I am half Asian and grew up on Japanese food.
I have been to the fish many times. Food and service is always great. I will always be going back.
I love this place! Take all of my friends here when they come visit. Definitely one of my go to sushi spots. Love the food. Not so much the soy sauce that they use. There’s something different about it compared to other ones.
