The seafood and grits were delicious. The corn fritters were not made there, they are the kind that are pre-made and frozen that you can buy anywhere, then fried. That was a bit disappointing, not that I love corn fritters but that with the wonderful local seafood and other items that are elevated, you get blah sides as well.
My first visit t this legendary establishment and i was not disappointed! Service was excellent (by Alex) as she was personable, attentive, and professional. Everyone’s food was wonderful too. I will be back.
Recommend reservations. Outside seating available during our visit. Casual dining at a moderate price.
Need more staff to work outside. We waited way too long for drinks and dinner
Food and drinks were excellent, everything was clean. Service was on the slow side.
Crabcake was fantastic probably the highlight of night.
Great priced wine. Food was overall Very good.
When we initially arrived we tried to just walk in with no reservation and was quoted a two hour wait time for a table. We declined to wait. This was at 7:50pm. My guest and I returned to our vehicle and checked open table and was able to get an 830pm reservation.
The reservation was confirmed and executed by the restaurant. This was a bit confusing to us nonetheless we went with it.
wonderful environment. food was outstanding. service was great.
The martinis were half full! But the seafood was fresh!
Grilled shrimp and asparagus were excelent. My two companions had fish and both raved about their meals. I will be returning again and will definitely bring guests here again.
Service and food was great! Everybody enjoyed the dinner
Out of town friends
Indoor dining is quite loud, tables are VERY CLOSE to each other. Pretty much like group dining. Menus were tragic, printed on printer paper, shortened options. Portions are quite slim for the price.
Delicious seafood and the best key lime pie we've ever had!
We had a wonderful time. You can tell that they as short staffed as most places right now but we never waited long for drink refills or food. It was very nice.
Nice atmosphere, nice price, impeccable service. Would definitely recommend another visit.
We love coming here for our date nights. The atmosphere is perfect and you can enjoy the conversation because you can hear each other. Highly recommend The Fish House!!!
Great service. Friendly and efficient staff. Amazing food as always.
Excellent food and service cantwait to try it again
Very nice place and the food and atmosphere was exactly what would be expected. We would definitely go back.
Im a local, love the Fish House and delicious food!
A beautiful evening on the water with wonderful food and service!
The food was wonderful and the customer service was great all around. Our server lyndsey was fantastic she was on point, she didn’t over crowd us and was very polite.
Once again everything was delicious! Recommend it highly! It is one of our favorite restaurants!
Food, service, and location were all excellent. We would eat there again.
They always have very fresh fish! The collard greens and grits are fabulous. It’s on the water and a very nice consistent place to eat.
All was nice - to bad due to weather the outside area was not open for eating
Great food, great service. I recommend the Fish House for sure.
I expected more from one of the top-rated restaurants in the Pensacola area. The food was ok but nothing to wow us and encourage us to return.
Great food, cooked exactly as requested..great service..always
Food was average, service great, bushwacker was the bomb
food and service are great every time we visit.
The table was terrible....hugged a post and small. If it had been busy, it would have been okay but there were only four other people inside except for the bar. The waitress never came back to our table after she took our order until I tracked her down so we could order dessert. The food was excellent and that was why we went. I did talk to the manager about our server. I would have fired her.
We found them through a web search. Late reservation for a week night, so some items were not available. The service and the food were outstanding. My wife got the Gulf Shrimp Platter (2 types of prep-Blackened & Pecan Breading) both were excellent. I tried the Gumbo, which was deep & richly flavored, very good. I had the Redfish bronzed & grilled with Red Beans & Rice (very good) & Hushpuppies (perfectly seasoned & fried). Only thing that could of been better was my wife Mojito, which required more limes & mint. We will definitely be back if we are in the Pensacola are again.
We had a great time celebrating my birthday. The fish and shrimp was excellent.
In full disclosure, my review is impacted by frustration over this restaurant's seeming misrepresentation of its GF menu options.
I'm vacationing in Pensacola and my partner and I decided to try The Fish House primarily because it had offered fresh seafood on its menu, which purported to have gluten free (GF) options. On their online menu, directly under the fresh fish options, it contains the line "Ask your server about gluten-free options." We were sadly disappointed to find that the restaurant's idea of providing GF options is simply to serve completely unseasoned fish -- no salt, no pepper, no seasoning blend. The waitress informed us that this is because their seasoning blend contains gluten. To say that this cast a pall over the entire dining experience is an understatement. The main bridge was out, so we drove a 53 min detour on what would have otherwise been a 10 min trip to try this place out. I would much rather a restaurant not advertise to have GF options rather than said option to be serving "naked" fish with no seasoning -- seriously, who would pay $30 for that?! Not a pleasant experience at all. I would encourage the owners/chef to create a GF seasoning blend (or SOMETHING) or just remove that misleading message from the menu.
Outside of this issue, I am not GF so I as able to order some other items on the menu. The soul rolls were just okay, but the chutney that came with it was bangin. The Grits à Ya Ya were very tasty and the shrimp tasted super fresh. And okay, I had to call my mama and tell her about their key lime pie....that dang good!!
Great food and drinks, love the fish options and can't wait for the full menu to be back.
Outdoor dining for my best friend’s birthday... very special!
The Fish House has really gone downhill. The place is dirty. Food and drink debris is on the walls, the tables wobble. The bathrooms were nasty. Toilet paper rolls on the ground, soap missing. It’s depressing to see such a nice restaurant look terrible, old and dirty. The server was nice. We left without ordering.
Everything was great from the food, the server ‘Janie’, and the prices were $$ but it’s worth it. I long wait on food. 10/10
