   This is the 3rd time we've been to The Finches Arms, first time on a Sunday. Varied menu using local produce, beef cooked to individual taste, enjoyed by both of us. Staff very friendly and efficient. Recommend lunchtime menu, Mon - Fri, for the selection of food and price.

   A beautiful pub / restaurant located in a wondeful setting overlooking the Rutland Waters. The food was very good and the service attentive.

   It has been some years since we last ate here and the changes are noticeable. The dining room has enlarged and modernised but not to the detriment of its essence of it being a posh pub. The service is also much improved. My starter of crab was very pleasant as was the spiced mango that came with it; whether the two should have been on the same plate I will leave open to debate. My main of fish and risotto was well cooked and flavoured. Next time I will read the menu more carefully; but there will be a next time.

   The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The fire was roaring in the bar which made it very homely. The food was very good as was the service. Would recommend definitely.

   Excellent time from the moment we walked through the door, friendly staff, and welcoming. Service and food was excellent. Sadly the sun did not shine, however, gorgeous views as well.

   A great location in the picturesque village of Hambleton overlooking Rutland Water, perfect for a summers day / evening al fresco meal. Nice ambience in the restaurant. Good menu(s), fixed price and a la carte, which can be mixed and matched. Food quality was very good, the best sirloin I have had in a very long time and my wifes lamb was also very well cooked and presented. Maybe a tad pricey for an up market pub. Friendly, efficient, service. We will go back (again) and would recommend Always busy in the summer, need to book.

   With a rustic ambiance and prized location, this could have been a much better experience. We cannot comment on the view as the outside dining area was closed for the evening. The bartender was cheerful, knowledgeable and welcoming. It just went a bit downhill from there. The menu was inspired, but maybe the chef was on holiday, as the realisation of the menu on the plate did not match the expectation. The less-than-appetizing fibrous and dried-up olives had definitely seen healthier days. Service was courteous but not well-organized, and the bill was less than expected.

    We took the in-laws to the Finch's Arms and all enjoyed our Easter Monday lunch very much. The set price menu is fantastic value and offers a good range of choice. The dishes are interesting without trying to hard to be different and we all really enjoyed everything. Service was a little stretched but very pleasant. The dining room is lovely and bright so it's a good spot for a relaxed lunchtime meal.
