The Fig Tree Restaurant - Charlotte, NC
Great experience and amazing food! For this type of white table cloth meal accompanied by jazz over the speaker I would expect it to be a bit more intimately lit - very small critique but otherwise 100%!!
I don’t normally do reviews but this place is outstanding! The attention to detail on all aspects was amazing from the wait staff, the porch tables, the music, and of course the food! You can go here dressed up or down! We will definitely be going back! Great place. Thanks for a great dining experience.
This was our 3rd dinner stop of the night as we built upon a multi-course meal, so know that we were already pretty full. The cute exterior is what drew us in, and we ended up getting a couple drinks, the stuffed calamari appetizer and yuzu tart. The balance of flavors here was surprisingly impressive and rivals some of the best we have had in Chicago. We got pear purée cocktail and the smoked carrot less sweet and both were very balanced, with the latter having a unique yet attractive flavor profile. The calamari appetizer was interesting in that each main ingredient on its own seemed to be too heavy in its flavor profile (sauce tasted like bitter vinegar, chorizo was too spicy, and eggplant was too sweet), but together was exquisite. With the dessert, each ingredient was sweet and flavorful on its own (it is sugar based, after all), but again the combination created a beautiful flavor bomb in our mouths. While certainly on the higher end of prices for Charlotte, again coming from a big city, the value was strong and we would definitely recommend this place and come again for a special occasion.
Everything was great. The kitchen, as usual, put together a special vegan meal that was very tasty and filling. And the bread - yummy
Wonderful dinner to celebrate a birthday. Edward took great care of us and provided excellent recommendations to ensure we had a terrific meal. The filet and elk chop were divine and we enjoyed the calamari appetizer. Wine list was chock full of lovely selections. Atmosphere here is always good. We dined here on a Wednesday and it was busy but quiet. Delightful evening!
I would have given 5 stars except for the following. We were the first diners there and waited at least 10 minutes for water to be served. Finally had to ask for it and also bread - server said that it was baking. Another 10 minutes wait for bread. Restaurant opened at 5 and reservation was 5:30 - everything should have been ready. When other diners arrived, the noise level was terrible. Perhaps we should have sat outside on the porch as the traffic noise would have been less, but it was very hot.
Food was fantastic!!! We had the salmon and the elk. Both were delicious. Will definitely come here again!
My husband and I enjoyed a post-theater dinner at The Fig Tree. It was a wonderful experience: a cozy setting, an extensive wine list, professional and attentive service, and magnificent food!
I love the feel of the home and I appreciate the original closet doors with the skeleton key hole! The waiting staff are super attentive and when told it was our anniversary he asked the pastry chef to write the words on our plates! Everything from the tomato bisque to the trout and beignets was exquisite!
Great ambiance and the food was outstanding. Extensive wine list.
Great food; wonderfully prepared
Amazing experience especially the food and service. Michael was our server and he was fantastic. Very attentive in a fast paced environment. We saw an engagement happen which is the first time I’ve ever witnessed someone propose. The bathroom were clean and the whole staff was friendly.
No wonder the Fig Tree Restaurant has one of the top ratings in all of Charlotte. What a wonderful dinning experience from the time you walk in the door to the time you leave. The food was exquisite and the atmosphere second to none.
We celebrated our Anniversary with our dear friends who dine out very frequently and both commented that the Fig Tree is by far the best fine food restaurant in Charlotte.
We can not wait to return and congratulate Sara and Greig for maintaining the outstanding quality for many years.
Bail & Bill
PS: We do miss Mark at the bar however and plan on coming on a Friday evening so we can visit with him once again.
This was our first experience with The Fig Tree and we not disappointed. Everything we had for dinner was delicious. We will definitely have dinner here when we are back in town.
This place is amazing, it is expensive but 100% worth it for what you get. Incredible restaurant
Our waiter was wonderful. Three hour dining, never rushed. Great recommendations!
Chef Greg continues to outdo himself with creativity, presentation and a variety of options that make you wish you could somehow try everything. The staff is so courteous, polite, friendly in an appropriate way. The setting is elegant yet comfortable. Can't wait to go back.
Fantastic food, outstanding service and a very romantic ambiance. Highly recommend!
The food was excellent! For the most part our evening was pleasant and enjoyable. There were two points that rubbed us the wrong way. All in all, we are likely to return to the restaurant but not for our anniversary.
Anniversary dinner with my wife. We've made FigTree our go-to for special occasions and are never disappointed. As always the service was excellent. The veal chop was amazing -- so flavorful. My wife's duck was overcooked -- it was whisked away before she could even complain and replaced quickly. Mistakes happen and no restaurant could have handled it better. All in all, a great evening.
Server was outstanding providing great suggestions. Food was super. Excellent wine list
Great restaurant to go to for a special event for a special dinner.
Birthday date night
Amazing experience and the food wads flawless as always! The service was great and they did a wonderful job of making the evening memorable for my date and I.
The food was amazing, the staff was really nice. Great experience overall
Food always great and the environment in an old house is friendly and not like many sterile restaurant environments. Very good for foodies, dates, and special occaisions.
An exceptional visit with our Charlotte family! Thanks Gary for a phenomenal meal!
The Sea Bass and Lobster dish was awesome!
A hidden gem with great food , ambience and service.
Fantastic! Wonderful place to celebrate. Was here for a birthday dinner two years ago, as well and it was phenomenal both times! The prices are a little high, but fair for the quality and quantity of food, service, and beverage.
Amazing meal. Great service. Elk chop was delicious. My only suggestion would be that they should warn people about all the construction going on around them. Most of the roads were closed. Took us about 15 extra minutes to get there.
Delicious food and excellent service. It was on the expensive side but definitely worth it for a special occasion. We were celebrating our anniversary, as were three other tables around us. We were wished a happy anniversary by the hostess as well as our server and were given a little extra treat because of it.
My wife and I went to The Fig Tree to celebrate our wedding anniversary and couldn't have been happier. All aspects of the evening were outstanding. The wait staff was excellent and the food spectacular. We tried the appetizer special of oysters three ways and the burrata for starters. My wife had the scallop entrée and I had the grouper dinner special. We also shared a special chef made peach and cherry fruit tart with bourbon ice cream. In addition, the wine list was as impressive as first reported. I highly suggest making this a must try on your list, and we will definitely be returning.
Awesome! Food was spectacular.
The elk chop presentation was terrible and it was disappointing as far as the taste. My husband comes to Fig Tree specifically for that dish and he was very disappointed. Eddie was enjoyable and efficient.
Went to the Fig Tree for our first anniversary and it was a great experience. Loved every part of the meal and had an exceptional waiter. I'll be looking to visit Fig Tree in the future to celebrate a future anniversary.
This was an exceptional experience, and the best meal and service that I have had at Fig Tree ever. It was truly a wonderful experience. Our server, Jennifer, was beyond compare. She was knowledgable, always on spot, and entertaining.
Very consistent. Decent service. Food was excellent
Food, wine and service were outstanding (thanks again, Natalia). The peanut butter s'mores dessert is a must-have. My only negative comment is the noise level inside is very high...we had to move outside to the covered porch. But the porch has a great ambiance and it was a lovely evening for an outdoor dinner so...five stars it is.
Again an outstanding experience. The Cheese board, Oysters, and Elk Chops were awesome.
