The Fig Tree Restaurant - Charlotte, NC
One of the nicest meals I’ve ever had- lamb loin with a fig and almond risotto..delicious! My other half had the elk and it was also amazing. Side note- had the octopus as an appetizer which was lovely but served chilled which I wouldn’t have gone for. Also had the Caesar salad with calamari as a starter and the calamari was one of the nicest I’ve ever had..overall a great dining experience! Natalia was lovely and knew her stuff also!
The staff and meal were absolutely delightful. Accommodated is for a night out before the hurricane rains and winds arrived. Thank you for the wonderful evening!
Visited the FT with my family to celebrate a birthday. It was all adults. Out server was very informative and attentive. The food was wonderful. This was our second trip and we have not been disappointed yet.
Fabulous food, impeccable service, attention to detail. Fine dining!
My wife and I were celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary and we wanted to try a restaurant we had not yet visited. My son suggested The Fig Tree. We had a great meal and excellent service in a very cozy setting. We would like to have dined outside but the weather was too warm. I’m glad we experienced inside seating on our first visit and we will definitely plan another visit when the weather cools off. The food was prepared perfectly, our waiter (Michael) took exceptional care of us and we both left very happy about the experience. This is definitely a restaurant I will visit again.
Superior service and food quality. Team of wait staff very attentive. Food was great and atmosphere perfect. Will cost you some money but worth it!
By far the best restaurant in Charlotte and the service and cuisine exceeded my expectations !
The food was perfection and the service excellent! Definitely a destination restaurant and worth going out of your way to eat there.
Amazingly creative but will be familiar enough for those who are not as adventurous.
It was wonderful and would highly recommend.
Love the creativity.
Food was excellent both in preparation and presentation. Service was excellent!!!!
We were visiting from out of town. Friend in Charlotte recommended. So glad we visited.
Food and service were delicious . It is a bit overpriced though and both myself and my husband who had the Sea Bass had a very bad stomachache. Either too rich or bad fish.
We have been to The Fig Tree a number of times and have never been disappointed. The service is always friendly and the staff are very helpful, especially when it comes to the extensive wine list. The food is consistently delicious and perfectly cooked. We each had a fish dish (trout and sea bass) but have very different tastes in white wine. Our server, Rebecca, was spot on with recommendations. looking forward to returning soon.
Excellent appetizers (foie gras, escargot) entrees not quite as impressive (lamb, sea bass)
We can’t say enough about The Fig Tree-from the food to the ambiance and especially the service! Seth went above and beyond to meet our every need! I would definitely recommend-for any occasion.... ours was pre theater and we wished we could have stayed longer.
Food was ok. Wine list was phenomenal.
Fantastic experience. Food was outstanding and service (Darren) could not have been any more enjoyable.
Rebecca's service was professional, yet personal. The sea bass was excellent.
Wonderful meal and a very friendly, professional staff. Our waiter, Gary, was outstanding - as was the meal. My wife had the fig/peach appetizer and still talks about it. She followed that with Sea Bass - again, it was wonderful. As for me, I dined on the filet (boring to some people, but I'm from Texas and beef is my "thing"). Our dessert (a strawberry tort of some type - with a candle in it for my wife's birthday) was a delicious end to the evening's dining. Great experience - we came to Charlotte from New Orleans following Katrina and I'm here to tell you, The Fig Tree could compete with the best restaurants of The Big Easy
Gary delivered great service and the food was exceptional- has sea bass and hubby had veal chop.
We went for our anniversary dinner and it was perfect. The food was amazing and my cocktail was so refreshing! We will definitely go again.
We had a business dinner at the restaurant and everything was outstanding. The wine selection was fantastic and our waiter recommended a boutique wine that we loved. Gary, who was our waiter is exceptional. He was probably the best server I had encountered in years and the entire table concurred. Thank you for an amazing experience!
Fabulous meal and service can't wait to go back!
They made my husbands birthday special. Amazing food. Great service. Definitely an upscale venue.
One of the top spots in Charlotte. Most everything exceeded our expectations. Fig Tree has been in Charlotte longer than most and has never disappointed. Highly recommended and BRAVO!
Second time at Fig Tree - another great meal. Really good Kir Royale to start. Very fresh house salad with light dressing. Super lean and tasty lamb and perfectly cooked scallops. Decadent chocolate torte. Very quiet and relaxing in beautiful house. We'll do again.
This was our second visit to Fig Tree and it my favorite restaurant in CLT now. Previously we went for my birthday a few years a go and this weekend we went for our anniversary. I did not disappoint on either occasion! The service both times was phenomenal, Jennifer was wonderful and made the evening feel special. I had the special that was supposed to be black grouper, but when they sold out of it they substituted sea bass instead and it fabulous. My husband had the lamb chop and had previously also had the Elk and they were both delicious as well. It is nice to find a restaurant where the food and the service are this outstanding and consistent. We will be back soon!
Lovely place for a birthday or anniversary dinner. We had the veal chop (absolutely incredible) and the scallops (also amazing). Very attentive service. The wine list is 40 pages so it is slightly overwhelming, but at least you can find something you want. The only opportunity for improvement that I noticed was they didn’t have a sommelier - the waiter is your only resource when deciding on wine. We will definitely be back at the fig tree next time we are in Charlotte.
Best lamb. Mark at the bar is awesome. Friendly staff
We celebrated our anniversary at Fig Tree last weekend. The food was fabulous, especially the cheese plate, escargots platter, and veal chop. The wine list is extensive, and that’s a complete understatement. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about wine and steered us in the right direction. My husband and I are looking forward to having dinner again at Fig Tree!
This must be the finest restaurant in Charlotte, if not all of North Carolina. Perfect food and perfect service!
Service and food were great! Nice presentation of the food and great desserts. Easy place to talk as quiet environment. Pretty outside patio. Good accessibility as my husband uses a cane. Friendly and helpful and professional hostesses and servers.
Quaint restaurant which provides parking. Staff was very attentive and friendly, food was amazing. Lighting was a little bit too dark which made me sleepy, but other than that, highly recommend!
My boyfriend and I went for his birthday dinner. The service was impeccable!! From the time we walked into the door until we walked out of the door, everyone greeted us and wished him a happy birthday. I was very impressed at the level of service and hospitality displayed by the staff. I had the filet mignon and my boyfriend had the sea bass. He said his meal was hands down the best seafood plate he’s had in quite some time. My filet was a little undercooked and not very flavorful. The dessert was delicious as were the cocktails! All and all it was a very pleasant dining experience!
Everything about the food and service was excellent from the bartender who must be the only one left on the planet who knows how to make a classic dry martini (not chocholatini, berrytini, peanutbuttertini, blah blah blah), our server who was very attentive but not too much, the wine list which is extensive, and the food itself which as the star. Fresh ingredients, well prepared with care for taste and not for superficial impressions is what we look for and we found it here. When the wine was brought to our table it was not what we ordered, so the server immediately apologized and brought a better wine of the same type and region and charged the lower price. Her descriptions made the food sound appetizing without silly over-the-top claims. Only downside was the sign saying the side parking lot was closed was placed at the back of the lot where you could not easily get out.
The service and atmosphere was very good. The food quality was average. I had the chop. It was very dry and a little to salty for my pallet. The deserts, although creative weren’t particularly exciting.
Good overall and I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
The stuffed calamari was excellent as was the wine selection and service.
Price was reasonable for the overall experience.
Every element of our dinner was spot on. The server,Rich, was excellent. He knew every detail of both food menu and wine list and very attentive, yet never intrusive! Our meal was so delicious! Everyone felt it was the best they have ever tasted. We had brought our family in from Monterrey Bay. Nicely done to everyone at the Fig Tree! Five Stars all round! We loved it!
The food and service was great, plus a great atmosphere for our anniversary.
The Fig Tree never disappoints. Wonderful food, great service, perfectly selected wines.
In passing through Charlotte, we chose The Fig Tree Restaurant based upon their reviews.
We were not disappointed. The food and service were both excellent, perfectly prepared, and beautifully
plated. Our server, Ryan was cheerful in answering several questions about our dinner choices.
During the meal he was always quickly available for any needs or requests-essentially a high quality
Being from the West, but now leaving in Florida, I have had in the past had the opportunity to eat Elk, but have not had any in over 15 years. Therefore, I selected the “ Elk Chops” entree. It was outstanding and
of a sizable portion. Not able to eat as much as I did when I was younger, I took about 1/2 of it back to our
hotel for the next day. Gosh, it seemed just as good eaten cold the next day.
Although the restaurant had a Black Grouper special, she decided on a Filet mignon- it was seasoned
well and simply delicious. The Polenta served as a side was probably the best we ever had.
As a starter, we both tried the Peaches appetizer-which was fabulous.
For dessert we shared the Cinnamon Beignets with Coffee Ice Cream and Cream Anglaise.
Although we ate inside, they have a beautiful porch dining setting for those evenings that make for the outdoor dining experience. Although a pricy restaurant, it is fairly priced for the dining experience.
A good choice for a special occasion or important dinner.
