The Fig Tree Restaurant - Charlotte, NC
The servers were rude, snobby and condescending. I had wanted to go here for the last 5 years. Your restaurant was highly recommend when we moved here. I saved it for my birthday dinner celebration, and the servers completely ruined it for me and my guests. We will not return. It’s completely unacceptable to treat your customers with such arrogance.
Delicious food and cocktails. Extensive wine list. Best romantic restaurant in Charlotte! I always enjoy my experience at The Fig Tree :)
First time visiting this restaurant...wonderful dining experience! Great food, excellent service, nice ambiance!
Had heard alot of positive things about this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. Gracious service and a good looking menu and exceptional wine list. Unfortunately, there was a failure to execute. Ordered a drink before the dinner followed by an appetizer with an accompanying glass of wine while we perused the menu for our entreés. Shortly after the aperitif drinks arrived, so did the appetizer. A little rushed no doubt, so it sat while we enjoyed our drinks. Bread and a garlic spread arrived as well as the wine for the appetizer. Timing was definitely off. Ordered our mains and then tried the appetizer special. It was a duck ravioli. Besides being cold from having sat there for an extended length of time, it was chewy and lacked filling. We had decided on fish for the entreé, sea bass and the daily special, corvina on a bed of risotto. The fish was well prepared; however, there was a genuine lack of imagination as to presentation and execution of the accompanying sides. The risotto was bland, soupy and prepared using long grain rice. Really? I thought risotto was to be made wih a short grain rice like Canarolli or Arborio? Not what we were expecting at this level of a restaurant. The sea bass was placed on top of a potatos with 3 spears of asparagus. Very plain looking and not very imaginative. For $45, I would have thought there would be something a little more than what one could get at a mid level restaurant. We fnished with the cheese tray with the remainder of a delicious White Burgundy we had with dinner. Must say, this was the highlight of the meal. Sorry to say, we were disappointed as our expectations did not meet reality.
Divine! Absolutely loved not only the food, but the atmosphere
Absolutely loved this restaurant. Great food. Great wait staff. Great wine list. My only problem was making a decision as the options were almost all tempting. Will definitely return.
My wife and I had dinner for the first time. The atmosphere can't be beat. The service was fantastic. The food was really good I just wasn't wowwed by the taste. It's just a personal opinion as I think a lot of people will really love it. I would recommend Fig Tree to others.
Always get great service, food and wine
I don't write reviews hardly ever, but I thought The Fig Tree clearly earned one. Wanted to go there for quite a while, finally did after going to the theater in Charlotte. Location is great and convenient from downtown Charlotte. Pretty location, prompt seating with a reservation. The food was sublime, really. Everything we had was outstanding and perfectly prepared. Ambiance was pleasant and we were able to converse easily. It is pricey, and you need to know this before you get there, but the food and service were so good that it is still a great value. Did I say how wonderful our food was? Definitely will go again, and definitely recommend!
Excellent Dinner and our Waiter was fantastic! We will return
Amazing meal. Great service
Always a great place for a nice meal on a special occasion. Service staff always does a great job.
Went for our anniversary, beautiful building and just super quaint inside. We decided to sit outside because it was a beautiful fall night and we were comfortable on the porch. They did have heat if need be. I had a whiskey cocktail which no doubt in my mind was the best whiskey drink I have ever tasted. It also came in a nice wide glass so the price was worth it. For dinner I ate their rabbit dish which was absolutely phenomenal. I like that the portions aren't too big or too small as when we were done, I wasn't full and uncomfortable. The service was delightful as well. Zero complaints about this restaurant and will be back but it is a bit pricey so expect to pay some money here.
It doesnt matter if you live 5 minutes away or 5 hours away, this place is worth the drive! Our server Michael is the man! Is knowledge and personality is only trumped by the food itself. Even our servers assistant, Ritz, knew just as much and both of their inviting person helped make our night perfect. Seriously, make the drive for one of the best overall experiences you could ask for!
Went there for our anniversary. Loved the whiskey options and cocktail list as well as the food options. Not everywhere you can get rabbit saddle or elk. Service was excellent. The crab tart was amazing. Food overall was delicious. Would definitely go back.
This was not our first time here. As always the service was excellent as the food was wonderful. Thanks again for a wonderful night out.
First date night out in our new city and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Incredible service and food was superb. Wine pairings recommended by wait staff was spot on. Beggars purse was an amazing, perfect for fall, appetizer. Sea bass was among the best we’ve ever tasted and the lamb was out of this world! Will definitely be back!
Never disappointed. Once again the food and service was exceptional! Excellent meals in the sea bass and the elk. I can never decide between the house and spinach salad, both are fantastic! Our waiter was there when we needed with solid recommendations either for wine or food, very helpful. All around, another great experience at The Fig Tree!
Food was very underwhelming. Part was cold, part undercooked and some just tasteless.
I don’t know what was better the food or service. Jennifer was the greatest server and her recommendations for both food and wine were spot on.
It was our first time at Fig Tree. We found Fig Tree on Open Table. We loved the house atmosphere and ability to talk easily. The food was all excellent, our favorites were the apple - cheese - walnut baked appetizer, the butternut squash soup and the scallops. The desserts sounded wonderful but we were just too full to try them. Our waiter was able to answer all our questions, was kind and efficient.
Amazing dinner. A must if your in Charlotte.
Great dinner as always at the Fig Tree. Food and offerings are outstanding and service was terrific. A very nice night out with the family.
Hi, spent $700, $200+ for two good wines. Food unremarkable, service was slack. No one ever picks up an empty app plates or empty wine glasses unless you ask. $500 in food to feed two boys 8 and 11, wife and 85 year father in law that had soup. Waiters seemed uninterested even though we still tipped $100. Money not the issue, I am sure it sound like it if you read this, but when you drop that number you expect everything to be right. Charcoal burned tart with crab meat, hard as a rock. Foi Gras and Elk were excellent. Never thought elk would look like a rack of lamb, who knew their ribs were so small. Maybe it was a baby elk.
Chef Greg probably does not come in on Sundays.
We have been to The Fig Tree a number of times and always look forward to our visit. This was another enjoyable trip. Food is alway great and I am always impressed with the servers - friendly and knowledgeable. We wanted to enjoy a relaxing time and the pace of service was timed very well. I put it at one of the best in Charlotte.
The meal and service was fantastic!
It was good, but did not stand out above any of the other high end restaurants in Charlotte. The atmosphere is a little stiff.
Lovely atmosphere, and great waitress! Food was a bit disappointing. Was expecting more of an outstanding culinary experience and felt it was good, but not outstanding. It is a very pricey restaurant so the expectations are always higher. We have a local restaurant where we live that beats this restaurant out in terms of food.
Simply put, The Fig Tree is a must. If you enjoy unique experiences, intelligent service and excellence. Make a reservation. The noise level noted above, was our fault. There were 5 of us and excellent wine. Thank you to Jennifer, who made our night, her decades of experience and understanding of the menu, wine, and service gave the "WOW" factor I was hoping for when entertaining clients. Most importantly, the food was absolutely phenomenal!!
Had our anniversary dinner here. Everything was delicious
Ambiance is excellent. Beautiful atmosphere in the restaurant. Food quality has slipped a bit recently. Not as good as in the past. But still good.
Great... as usual
Food and service was very good. Prices are very high, but we knew that before we arrived.
Best restaurant in Charlotte. Absolutely love everything about this restaurant. The food delicious, best wine list ever and impeccable service. Always our go to restaurant. It never disappoints.
Our waitress was amazing and the food was delicious.
Went for our anniversary. The ambiance was nice and our server was very attentive and helpful. I didn’t feel that the food was what we paid for it. It was decent, but not better than if we’d gone somewhere cheaper. The sea bass was bland, Caesar salad left something to be desired. Waiter insisted we get the chocolate torte because it was his favorite but it was so rich we weren’t thrilled about it. We did have a really good anniversary and enjoyed the setting and attentive service. I think the food could be improved for the price.
One of the nicest meals I’ve ever had- lamb loin with a fig and almond risotto..delicious! My other half had the elk and it was also amazing. Side note- had the octopus as an appetizer which was lovely but served chilled which I wouldn’t have gone for. Also had the Caesar salad with calamari as a starter and the calamari was one of the nicest I’ve ever had..overall a great dining experience! Natalia was lovely and knew her stuff also!
The staff and meal were absolutely delightful. Accommodated is for a night out before the hurricane rains and winds arrived. Thank you for the wonderful evening!
Visited the FT with my family to celebrate a birthday. It was all adults. Out server was very informative and attentive. The food was wonderful. This was our second trip and we have not been disappointed yet.
