Very disappointed with the service & overall experience. Perhaps a perfect place prior to a show, but not a place I would say provides a good dining experience for a girls dinner or special occasion.

We met there for dinner before the theater, which is at the same location. The same waitress is always there and is very personable and a pleasure to deal with. I should remember her name. She is great. I had the vegan entree, vegan carrot pot roast and it was amazing. My friend had the Autumn Greens, which she enjoyed. The dressing was light and flavorful. It was a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. And we got to the play in time.

We were blown away by the new menu, its creativity and its uniqueness. The presentations were lovely and the food was outstanding. We had the pig and the fig appetizer which was delicious. The scallops for dinner were done just right. One person in our party had the elk which she said was done perfectly and the dessert (Banana Sponge) was superb. Chef Abby outdid herself with this new and creative menu. Our waitress, , was a delight and her enthusiasm for the new menu came through loud and clear. Her suggestions were spot on, especially for the dessert. It was a lovely dinner before the play. Thanks.

Interesting food and live music on a gorgeous summer evening. One of us had the traditional Caesar salad, an elegant balance of flavors and textures; the other a creative take with charred romaine and crunchy anchovy strips. Perfection!

The restaurant is so conveniently located to the theater. Reservations online were easy, and the food and selection were outstanding. The portions were a little bit small to my standards, but I'm a big guy, so that's on me. I certainly didn't walk away hungry.

The food was outstanding. The noise level was not. Salads arrived with the wrong dressings. Entrees arrived with the wrong sides. The problem with The Farmhouse has always been that they can not handle a banquet and dinner service at the same time. We shall return because, as contrasted with the past, the food was outstanding. I just wish that the noise level could be controlled.

While the food was good, the service was not. We were not served rolls nor salads that came with the meals. We had three desserts brought to our table, when we had only ordered two. We were charged for coffee that we did not order and had to wait about 15 minutes for our server to return so we could tell her. We tried to be patient given the shortage of help places are experiencing, but having to wait that long to get our check corrected was ridiculous. Fortunately we were going to the show and had plenty of time. Disappointing experience.

We ate outside which was very pleasant on nice night. Service could have been better--slow and appetizer came at same time as entree. Wine good. Tomato basil soup was extraordinary. Entrees were OK. Convenient for going to play at Peoples Light. I will not return as overall experience not memorable. Setting is lovely so others may want to try

Restaurant had 2 servers for 10 tables- never received salads with dinner but didn't bother asking as we had tickets for the play and couldn't afford any more wait- we had allowed I hour and 15 minutes for dinner but had to ask for bill so we could make the play. Male ? manager approached our table to ask how everything was- we said we needed to get bill so we could go to the play and he told us that we had plenty of time- really? Had to track down waiter to get bill. Singer-guitarist was there- very loud- small area- why did they have speakers?Food was good but incomplete- won't be going back- unfortunately Alba was closed that week, was hoping this was a good place to go as we subscribe to PLT.

Dinner menu as limited. Lots of sandwiches and I am not a fan for them at dinner time. Roasted Brussel Sprouts were soaggy. Dry rose was good. Beer menu limited. It is convenient for the People's Light Theatre, but they seated all the tables in a small room at the same time and it was noisy. Honestly I do not think I will be back again, especially if it is a special occasion.

My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at the restaurant yesterday evening. The metal and glass artistry around the restaurant and the property create a wonderfully unique ambience for a night out. If you can, go outside to the tent and peek at the metal chandelier - truly one of a kind. I am jealous that the décor wasn't like this when we got married there 20 years ago, but I will have to think of a reason to have an event there because it is so cool. All the dishes we had were delicious, but the cookie in a skillet was a sure prize winner. Even though you think you don't have room for it, make room. The staff were so friendly that they made sure everyone there felt welcome and enjoyed their time. I would highly recommend making a reservation. It is a very small venue, so no worries about a noisy and crowded space .

As with many places, the place is short staffed so I can overlook the service as the staff was trying. The food and drinks, however, were unforgivable. The peach and heirloom tomato salad was inedible. The tomatoes and peaches were mushy and gross. The drinks were strange—my skinny margarita was orange juice w a tiny hint of tequila while my husband’s margarita was basically straight tequila. My husband ordered pork at first til the server said “dont everyone that orders that says it is tough” but the chicken her ordered came on the plate by itself nit with the veggies that are meant to cone with it. Just a plain chicken breast in the center of the plate. My salmon burger was tasteless and dry. The physical setting was beautiful, however, so it makes me sad the food is so terrible

There were three of us and we had a lovely room to ourselves since most people were outside. One person in the party used a walker and the staff was helpful and accommodating in getting us in and out easily. The food was yummy. We shared the Brussels Sprouts appetizer and raved about it all the way home. All of the staff were helpful, gracious and efficient. It made the evening even more fun.

Based upon other reviews, we were very excited to try Fern & Fable for my partner's birthday dinner. We couldn't have been more disappointed. It was as though we were dining at a different restaurant than others who reviewed it. Our $14 drinks were completely watered down and virtually tasteless. We ordered the roasted brussell sprouts appetizer and they had the taste and mushy texture of our 1970's childhood version. They were inedible (we didn't ask but the waitress did notice and took them off the check which we appreciated). Our meals (short ribs and pork medallions) were completely uninspired. Neither of us finished despite very small portions and didn't bother bringing home leftovers. Though we planned to have dessert, we didn't bother. We were told that the evening's performance had been canceled due to covid. We can only guess that the regular chef and bartender were out as well as there doesn't seem to be any other explanation for why our experience was so poor. The outside seating was very nice although a bit loud with traffic going by.
