   Excellent meal. My wife and I went for the Mother’s day brunch, lovely choices for the three course meal. We each had a specialty cocktail and they were great too. This is a small restaurant and service takes a bit between courses, but well worth the time. Noise level varies depending on the other diners seated near you our experience was pretty good, but got a little noisy at times. The background music was unusual, bluegrass, country, pop and there were short spaces where the music went away. Bread for the table would have been nice, but wasn’t necessary.

   In our opinion, this is the best food in Rehoboth. The fritters are fin and delicious, but the menu is creative and so well prepared. The service is friendly and attentive without being bothersome. This was our second visit and it was even better than the first. Highly recommend.

   Food was delicious, portions are not big, we should have ordered one additional item. The restaurant is very small, it is tight quarters. Service was excellent, in some cases too much service from the assistant, he was at the table taking plates from us too often, there were too many interruptions. I could barely take a break from chewing or put my fork down and he asked if we were finished. Menu is small, not a lot of options but we would go again.

   Always a fabulous experience at The Federal to have a wonderful special dinner. We came for our son’s birthday evening. He is 31 years old, so not a kid, but is vegetarian. He had plenty of choices of vegetarian appetizers and entrees as well as mocktails as he doesn’t drink cocktails. We found wonderful choices with the Softshell crab panzanella salad and delicious pan roasted grouper. The entire dining experience was fabulous with server Cici, Chef Todd Grey on the kitchen and overall wonderful personalized experience. Bon appetit!

   Amazing dining experience! Wonderful ambience, music and food! The fritters are beyond delicious and the sauces complement them perfectly, as recommended by the professional staff! Don’t miss the beautiful art mural of some DC nostalgic highlights, part of the Federal perfection! A beachy beautiful gem in Rehobeth.

   The monthly vegan brunch was outstanding. Every course was superb-French toast, gazpacho soup, teriyaki mushroom over soba noodles, strawberry layer cake and apple fritters. Highly recommend.

   I really wanted to like this place! Especially when the chef greeted us at the door so graciously and let us in the restaurant a few minutes early even though they weren’t open yet. It went downhill from there. The strawberry margarita was undrinkable as it was pure tequila and no other flavor. I think they used fresh strawberry purée which didn’t work since the strawberries were flavorless (maybe because they were out of season). The “famous” fritters were just okay. The corn one was fine and the artichoke one was just an artichoke tempura. Our food was so bad. I got the cauliflower curry hoping for a punch of flavor but was so disappointed with a sauce of mostly coconut milk that lacked all the things that make a Thai curry amazing (sweet, salty, acidic, spicy) and the rice was overcooked and soggy. My son’s steak was fine (but lacked salt) and it was on sweet potato puree that managed to have the exact same taste and consists baby food. Finally, the service. Sigh…we were originally the only table in the place and it took our waiter 10-15 minutes to get us drinks and another 10-15 minutes to take our order. The place is tiny and I could see her standing at the bar talking to the other employees. Once the food was dropped off (by someone else) that was it. She never came back to see if we were good, we had to ask another person for salt and refills on our waters, and it took 25 minutes to get her to bring our bill when we were clearly done (and looking around for help. I don’t recommend this place.

   This was our third time at Federal and it did not disappoint. The 3-course Easter lunch specials offered something for everyone. Can’t wait to go back

   Everything perfectly prepared and quite delicious. We attended an Easter Brunch but ordered dinner-like entrees.

    Was not crazy about our Easter brunch experience. My appetizer of BBQ Shrimp and grits was just ok. Our steak and eggs came with a sunny side up egg we asked for them to be served over medium they arrived sunny side up with the white running across the plate and the steak was way too chewy. My dessert was berries and Italian sweet creme and it was delicious.
