The Fat Lamb
We had a delish meal at The Fat Lamb. Goat cheese app was creamy and warm with a generous helping of pita wedges. Curries salmon was the fav of all the entrees ordered at the table.
we went to the restaurant after an adventurous day at the mega caverns to celebrate a birthday.
great service - awesome food - in a relaxed casual ambiente. just a superb experience!
most remarkably was the very attentive service (Audrey was great), but not to minimize the food/drinks and restaurant layout.
we wish we would live closer so we could go more often.

Delicious food. The short ribs were amazing! The gnocchi was delicious too. Also, I really loved the Brussel sprouts as well.
Very good experience. The food was amazing. I had the duck and my wife had the short ribs and they were both delicious. The only reason for the four star review is the menu is a little small. A salad option or other sides would make it a much better menu. The location is a little strange as well, but overall it is a very good place to eat.
Early Mother’s Day meal. Food was good, service was good. If you have picky children, the do have one burger on the menu.
We were there to celebrate our anniversary. Dinner was fantastic, our server, Marcella, took great care of us. We intend to be back soon.
Great experience. Hands on Chef/ Owner. Delicous flavors! We loved the personal attention Chef gives each dish. Loved the cauliflower app and the lamb! The bread pudding was to die for too! Nick at the bar made us great craft cocktails. Great night
Went on Derby Day, so was expecting it to be a bit crowded. Asked if I could be 15 minutes late, and was told we couldn't because there was another reservation coming right after us and they needed the table. We showed up at 6:45, and were the first (and only) people in the restaurant. The menu was limited, and they were not willing to go off-menu, even for an allergy. They gave us a very hard time swapping part of a dish due to an allergy. All that said, the food tasted amazing. Solid job there. However, we weren't able to order what we wanted due to the limited menu. The odd thing was the restaurant never filled up. There were always a few tables open. So, not sure why we were unable to show up 15 minutes late. Overall, I would go back on another night, assuming they would be a bit more flexible with the menu.
Had dinner here after The Oaks. It was fairly easy to get to from Churchill Downs. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was exceptional.
We ate the Prix fixe menu during Derby Weekend. It was incredibly rushed and not becoming of a high caliber restaurant offering. We were literally rushed out the door.
Derby price fixe menu. The food was unimaginative with monotone flavors. Sides were undercooked, and the beet salad was all greens with three slices of quarter-sized beets. Entrees were so-so, and mine was lukewarm in the middle and had to go back to the kitchen. The bread pudding was good, the mousse was meh. The Fat Lamb is overpriced and disappointing — I was so excited to try this place.
Hi Kate, I am sorry that we couldn't accommodate your last minute request to add 2 diners to your reservation and I'm sorry that you are still upset about it. We could've accommodated if we knew a few weeks in advance. We are a small restaurant with a limited number of seats. Your complaint about the food was the only one of the night so I'm sure it had something to do with not being able to dine with your 2 other friends. This is Kentucky Derby weekend so out of the ordinary. Sinner with two drinks and 4 courses was $640 with tip. While the meals was good, it was not a $95 per person meal. The drinks expensive but not crazy.. the apps better than the main dish. We felr taken advantage of bit the waiter Mark was terrific

There were 7 glasses of wine, 1 house cocktail, and 2 neat pours of Henry McKenna Bourbon along with the food and tip. The gnocchi with lamb ragu was fantastic, and very filling. My friend got the burger which for $17 I'd expect something next level but it was pretty much like something you can get at Steak n Shake. Drinks were delicious. The service was friendly but slow. Overall a good restaurant that I would visit again, but a little too pricey for what you get.
Lovely lunch with friends! They were so accommodating when we wanted to combine certain menu items! Can’t wait to go back!

Everything about the meal was special. The bruschetta is probably the best I’ve ever tasted and the hush puppies were tasty. Just perfect density. Not to light. Not to firm. We had the cheeseburger, veal, lamb, and braised short ribs. Meals were large enough we took some home for the next day. Service was good. Our server was attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. Will definitely go back again!
What a wonderful meal. My family was in town for Easter, and all of us are foodies, so I thought we would splurge and go to the Fat Lamb. Chef Dallas has recently won Chopped, so I thought I’d show off the Ville cuisine. We had almost everything on the menu—appetizers: the Brussels sprouts were amazing, as were the lamb meatballs. Every entree was perfect—fish special, fried chicken, lamb ragout with gnocchi, short ribs, and lamb chops. For dessert, the cannoli was amazing! I’m not a Nutella fan, but the Nutella mousse was impressive. Perfect service, great cocktails. This is a very special place. Even my brother was impressed!
My friend and I had a great experience celebrating her birthday! Don't mistake the lower noise rating as a negative. In fact, it is a positive! We were able to have conversation without yelling. The cocktails, food and service were great. It was my first visit but not my last!
Food lived up to high expectations. Gnocchi with lamb ragout outstanding. Mixologist very knowledgeable.

So delicious! Everything was so tasty! The service was great! We were a tad late to our reservations so he had to wait 5 mins for a table (our fault) but the still gave us free desert for making us wait! And it was our fault! Would definitely recommend to anyone. So nice and modern inside. Really fun atmosphere.

Outstanding as always! The arugula and beet salad, as well as the chive hush puppies were delicious starters. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed the short ribs and my cobia fish special was superb! It was a first visit for our friends, who, like us, are fans of Chef McGarity’s sister restaurant, The Portage House. A big thumbs up from them too!

Food was amazing, great atmosphere and service was to the point. Make sure you have the cauliflower, it was ridiculous. The drinks were spot on too!
All went very well especially with our Hostess/Waitress who was extraordinarily friendly, welcoming and kind. This was my first time dining at The Fat Lamb and she made it special for me and my son as we celebrated his birthday. The menu choices were varied but not excessive and my black bean burger, arugula and beet salad and his salmon were delicious.
The seared duck breast I had was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious! Service was great as well.
Great chef, food, top notch service and warm smiles. Little on loud side due to openly talkative customers.

Very pricey for the amount of food served
First time dining here. The staff was great, and it's a nice space. But overall, we felt the food did not measure up to the prices. It was good, but we were underwhelmed given the price. An appetizer, two entrees, two drinks, and a dessert came out to $120 before tip. That isn't terribly unreasonable, but there are other places in town that provide more bang for the buck.
We went for my mother's birthday with my husband, teenager and my toddler. The appetizers we're amazing. We had the goat cheese with pita and meatballs. So good! Then the boys had the double cheeseburger, those were very good also. I had the scallops, they we're better than any other scallop I've had before. My mom had the gnocchi. It was amazing and flavorful. Very nice atmosphere, very clean and Service was amazing.
The service was great. We tried the arancini, ricotta gnocchi, and roasted brussel sprouts. Everything was frantastic!
It was not too dark, or too loud. The background music was awsome. it was really a fun evening.

First-time visit on a rainy Saturday afternoon with a party of four. We arrived a few minutes before opening at 11:30 and staff let us in a little early, which saved us from the cold--much appreciated. Everyone in our party liked what they ordered. Lamb meatballs were tasty, large and dense (in a good way). The polenta was creamy and peppers were delicious. Short rib sandwich as wonderful and side of fries were prepared to crisp perfection. My wife got the gnocchi and lamb Ragu, which she liked, but after a while she said the gnocchi got a bit heavy. Wait staff was excellent and attentive--very fun to talk with. Overall, a great time!

Lamb meatballs with tzatziki, peperonata and feta were perfection! And their variation on a Pimm's cut, the "Tim's Cup," was refreshing, tasty and wonderful at the end of a stressful day. I'll be back.
Delicious food, great service. Highly recommend the arancini appetizer, and the gnocchi with lamb ragu. Wish I lived in the area to try other items.
