Friendly staff. Good food. We went on a Sunday which is always Sunday roast for them so the rest of the menu was a little limited but we still managed to choose suitable dishes.

Good value for money. I had sunday roast - meat is not necessarily the best Ive had but overall flavours of the dish was great and good portioning. Staff were very polite and friendly too in a pretty old York pub setting. Great location for weekend lunch.

Wow wow wow, what an experience! Me and the family enjoyed an incredible meal. Me and my son had the tapas to share; Wings, Hummus & Meatballs - all were top notch. For mains I had the Spicy Hot dog, it was nice and spicy with great cooling finish with the mayonnaise. My wife really enjoyed the Smoked Salmon Salad, My Daughter in law had a Flat Iron steak which she absolutely loved. Desserts we shared the Cobbler & Brownie both were delicious. Overall what a fantastic meal, we will return.

The food and atmosphere were excellent but as we were in a side room we felt a little forgotten about as we had to remind them about our main course that hadn’t arrived when she was asking if we would like the dessert menu.

Lovely food. Only downside was the room at the front where, we were seated, was very warm. Unfortunately the windows could not be opened and there were no fans (we did ask).

Our room was heavily worn and looking very tired. We were woken early one morning with substantial banging and crashing from an upstairs room. We were not informed that any maintenance was going on, but it seemed that there was heavy work taking place. Our TV signal was very poor indeed and the kettle wire only just reached the plug which meant it fell on the floor when the kettle was lifted. The food was ok but the staff were not very attentive in service. We could hear them chatting down the corridor. This was a shame because the venue has charm.

Very disappointed booked a meal for my wife’s 50th ordered a bottle of wine, starter was fine after that the mains arrived my wife chicken skews were completely over cooked, chewy flat bread which my wife used my steak knife but ended up leaving half of her dinner, my steak was also very poor, We wasn’t asked if everything was ok, we did complain but staff didn’t seem to know to do we paid the bill in full and left very disappointed We did miller and carter a day before which was a similar price and it was amazing The Fat Badger need to seriously up there game not a nice place to eat at all Mr M Sharp
