   the food was overpriced. the veg lentil dish was dry and did not have any interesting flavoring. for $15 i would have expected more interesting textures, flavors, creativity, etc. i was really excited about the farm to table aspect of dining at the farmhouse and was hoping to taste more fresh ingredients. the ambiance of the restaurant was great and the person who served us was also friendly and good at her job.

   Went on Valentine's Day. They had a fixed menu, which is not uncommon on special occasions, but we did not expect it to be so limited since we went last year on Valentine;s Day and had a great choice. Were told it was a change in chefs? Anyway, a little disappointed, but the quality was good and the wine and drinks were great. Would go again, but would call/check to see if they have fixed menu for special holidays/occasions.

   The setting around the restaurant is lovely. The restaurant itself is charming and matches the name. We were at the restaurant late on a Sunday afternoon. It was not very crowded, but all diners were crowded into one room even though the other rooms were empty. The server was friendly, but not very attentive. After selecting from the wine list, our server returned to inform us it was not available. The biggest disappointment was the food. The restaurant raves about it's fried chicken, so we were looking forward to it. Sadly, it was mostly dry and had obviously been cooked much earlier and kept warm. That is how the whole plate of food tasted, the green beans were rubbery and the potatoes were barely warm. The best parts of the meal were the biscuits and the salad. The salad was awesome, so fresh! I looked into the kitchen on our way out, and was not surprised to see that it was very clean and shiny, but no active cooking going on at all. If a restaurant is only going to offer two entrees they should at least be freshly prepared. I would return for the lovely setting and perhaps a cocktail, but not for the food.

   Amazing little gem 48 minutes from Atlanta. It's the perfect place to get away from the city and feel like you are somewhere else. The Farmhouse Restaurant is situated in SerenBe Inn a very charming and quaint bed and breakfast. One of my friends recommended this place and it was amazing. They are known for their fried chicken and it was crisp, juicy, and tender all at the same time. The sides are constantly changing as they serve what's in season. But definitely try their fried green tomatoes and peach cobbler as well. Make sure to ask to sit on the porch it really provides great views of the farm. You can also walk around the farm and see the Animal Village it's really charming. Our waiter Bob provided excellent service. I will definitely go back!

   The options are few but tasty. They stick to a refined version of southern cuisine. Buttermilk battered fried chicken. Some other options and sides.

   After a great experience with friends in December, the January evening was the opposite. The table was cramped, as the dinner plates were much too large for the table, hanging off the table edge. The short ribs were very fatty. Overall, a disappointing evening.

    The Farmhouse is such a great spot. You feel like you've been transported to a fine retreat in a little town far away even though it's just outside of Atlanta. The food is always impeccable and the drinks are dangerously delicious. I called because we were going to be very late for our reservation and although they had a huge group coming in, they accommodated us at a private table by the fire in the bar area. it was wonderful and the staff gave us just as much attention as the big group. Lovely.
