   It was Mother's Day so as to be expected it the restaurant was busy. We made a reservation for 6:15 we arrived around 6 and were asked to wait until closer to our reservation time to be seated. Once seated our server Lyric took our drink orders. About five minutes later brought complimentary bread. I chose this restaurant because last year my wife and came to celebrate the new year. We ate in a dome and had a great time so I thought for this Mother's day it would be good to bring my wife and boys. It didn't turn out that way to say the least. We sat at our table and waited and waited. After our drink order our server never checked on us to see how we were doing. We had to get her attention ourselves, to ask about our order. We sat there with our toddler over an hour. To our luck he was well behaved the food took so long that my wife had to resort to feeding him the complimentary bread. Like I said before the we were sat at 6:15 we didn't get our food until 730-7:45 approximately. The macaroni and cheese and brussels sprouts were room temperature. You would think waiting that long everything would be hot. I arrived wanting dessert but when asked I declined because the food took so long to come, I only assumed the dessert would be the same. Also I needed to get home so I asked for the check the bill was $101.00 which was reasonable I didn't believe the restaurant deserved a tip so I tipped eighteen percent the lowest recommended amount. When leaving no one said anything as we departed even though someone was at the front. I only mention that because while I waited to be seated until my reservation time others that were leaving were told to have a great day or something of the sort. I left me feeling as though they needed better customer service. I hope if I do decide to come back the service is better.

   The wait time for food was extremely slow. We had to ask about food several times.

   The fried chicken was excellent. Don’t pass up the apple pie ala mode!

   Great service, great food. Brought my daughter a free brownie and ice cream for her birthday. She loved it! Thank you !

   We have dined at Fair Oaks in the past and had a great experience, although, this time I would not recommend this restaurant. We had a 5:45 pm reservation and arrived a little early. We did not get seated until 6:10pm and it seemed like we were an inconvenience to the staff. Our server was very nice and efficient but seemed very rushed and overwhelmed and assigned too many tables. Our meals were ok but really nothing to brag about. We ordered the brisket which was too tough to eat. And the veggie pizza appetizer tasted like a flavorless frozen pizza. Beet salad was very disappointing as it was served without dressing. Overall, the quality was lacking and did not meet the value / cost.

   Good food and nice atmosphere. Shrimp and grits were good but a little bit too spicy for me. The baked french onion soup was fantastic as for the homemade chip fries.

   While the food was cooked perfectly, they were very short staffed and it took 2 hours. The waitress was great at bringing drink refills and keeping us informed on the food. The biggest problem were the to-go milkshakes and ice cream. They put butter pecan in the root beer float????? By the time we noticed we were away on the highway and it wasn't worth turning back for the undrinkable dessert. Thank goodness we don't have nut allergies.

    Had a reservation for 5:30, showed up 5 minutes early and were told we’d be seated in 4 minutes. Weren’t seated until 13 minutes later. Others seated after us received their food before us.
