Great staff, great food.
We had an excellent meal, food was fresh, the service was excellent.
I was stunned !!! The first time an owner of a restaurant
Made a customer wrong for sending back a meal
With inferior , tough meat. He came to the table argued.
Was quite unbelievable .
Very costly for an evening of abuse!
Will never return and am letting people know about the total rudeness that I endured.
Seemed they implemented a new tablet order taking system and had some things to work out. We waited about 45 minutes from order time to find out the waiter did not complete the order process. We were presented with some bread, but I don't think it was made in house as claimed. They gave us more bread but no additional butter or jam and the jam was good. The place is super cute and that problem is forgivable considering how nice our waiter was. The waiter offered a free dessert for our wait and trouble, which was very nice. Another 15 - 20 minutes went by before our orders arrived. Duck hash had very little duck and it was not hash, was barely warm and not seasoned. We asked for salt and pepper so we could season our meal.
I was starving so I ate the kids meal portion delivered. Worth about $4 not $16. The potatoes were the same in the the duck hash as they were in the standard breakfast ordered. The standard breakfast bacon was very over cooked and had a mystery fried/burnt cauliflower with it and was warm. No seasoning on that either. The truffle burger had no truffle, was under cooked sent back then over cooked. Potatoes were cold then came out hot. The over cooked burger was eaten because it was around the two hour mark at this time and my friend was STARVING. We think the owner address the burger situation, but he did not introduce himself as an owner. It took forever to get the bill, they did attempted to NOT take anything off the bill and then took a whole $5 dollars off and handed us a card to come back another time to get a free dessert. My guess is he was unwilling to allow the nice waiter to deliver on that free dessert. I had very high hopes for this place. None of us will go back together or separate. I don't know if they will make it. Cherry Hill is tough and if you are not on your game, people just won't come back.
Came here for the first time with my wife. Used to be a different restaurant that my good friend had his rehearsal dinner at years ago. Farm to table which we like. Very nice experience. Food and service were very good. Will be back.
A constantly changing menu makes that is always innovative is what you will find at The Farm House!
Very attentive, personable. Food was great as well.
Awesome food and service!
Food was fresh and has lots of flavor. The pre-fix menu was an awesome option. Prices were comparable to others for the quality of the food. The service was friendly at attentive.
This was my first visit and was generally impressed. There was a large, loud table nearby which made things noisier than ideal, plus there was music playing in the background which was maybe not needed. Service was attentive and waiters had iPads, so all information they needed about the menu/specials was easily accessible. We pulled out separate credit cards at the end, which confused him a bit but nothing terrible. Food was quite good -- we had filet, salmon, and veal as our entrees. My steak was of excellent quality and well prepared. Dessert was the only weak link; apparently we didn't pick up the cue from our waiter who informed us we'd probably be too full for dessert :-) Cost was more than justified for the value. The 3 and 4 course prix fixe menu is great; no surprises on the bill, plus it's a BYO so that was budget friendly as well. Certainly worth a visit if you live in the area.
The food was delicious, the staff was attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed. We had a delicious meal and can't wait to go back.
The food was fantastic, especially the home-made rolls and whipped butter. I enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and my wife really liked the scallop dinner.
Very impressed. A real gem of a place. Nice menu and everything presented and prepared with a nice twist and stressed the farm to table concept. Even if something sounded simple, or ordinary, they elevated to delight!! Service attentive and warm.
Challah French toast, omelette, sunny runny? burger, apricot preserves with toast... desserts- all a cut above.
Cute place. Only drawback was a fairly large party , perhaps a Christening and the kids were unattended and not sitting with adults and loud and running around. This detracted from our special occasion. Put large parties in a back or side room- and with their parents. As a mom, I love kids... but parents should know better.
All 3 in our party will return!!
Great ambience. Perfect food. Perfect customer service. Looking forward to our next visit.
I wasn't sure what to expect when coming here for the first time. I like the farmhouse decor and you could tell they went for a nice casual vibe. We went for the fixed price menu which seemed like a pretty good deal, given their prices. For appetizers, we got the fried green tomatoes and the fried Cornish hen. If you like beer-battered onion rings, you'd like the tomatoes. The fried chicken was not what I expected though. First off, you get a hen that's just cut in half and then thrown in a fryer. To me, it was a little odd for an appetizer/small plate. Second, the chard just didn't belong. It had its own flavor and too much of it. We got the sweet potato and apple bisque after that. That was good. I finished my meal with the lamb sirloin, which was excellent. The goat cheese polenta was really tasty too. My date ordered the filet medium-well and it came out almost rare. They took care of it, but still. If the whole experience didn't take 2 hours, I would feel better about it all. Maybe they were just busier than expected, I'm not sure. I just doubt I'm coming back.
My boyfriend and I went there for Valentine's Day (Saturday after). We were greeted by the owner and seated in a few minutes. They were very crowded and understaffed due to illness but you wouldn't have known as the service was wonderful. Our waiter was the owner. We decided on the 4 course fixed price meal which included a small plate, soup or salad, main dish and dessert. First we were brought fresh baked rolls with chardonnay butter which were to die for. Warm, chewy, delicious. I had the fried green tomatoes topped with a bacon jam. YUM Next, apple and sweet potato bisque. I could have eaten nothing but that and the rolls and been perfectly happy. It was hot and creamy and perfect for a cold snowy night. Next, had the short ribs which were served on a bed of black lentils. The mean fell apart and melted in your mouth. I finished my meal with the creme brulee. My boyfriend had the shrimp and grits small plate and the filet mignon and raved about both. The entire experience was top notch. They have a Saturday and Sunday brunch we can't wait to try. We will definitely be back.
I can’t wait to go back! Newer menu. Nightly specials. Price fixed 4 course yum!!!!
First time at The Farmhouse and the food was absolutely delicious!! We will definitely be back!
Service was really slow. Food was great though! If the service were good this place would be amazing. Our server was really awkward and there was a clear misconnect with the server and the rest of the staff. We were there for over 2 hours.
Great farm to table food. The menu has a wonderful variety of appealing and diverse choices. From the small plates to the entrees, everything was fresh and expertly prepared.
This was our second visit and it was great. Hope to be back soon!
We were very disappointed. Our salads were supposed to have squash brittle. It was just flavorless sugar. Entrees were brought out before we were all done our salads. My entree was scallops with couscous. There were only 3 scallops. The couscous was cold. It was supposed to have artichokes. Instead there were potatoes. Who puts potatoes on top of couscous? Husband had the smallest piece of salmon over uninteresting leaves. Dessert was supposed to be coconut creme brûlée. The dessert was cold. It’s supposed to be smooth and creamy. This one had the consistency of oatmeal and was brown. The top was not crunchy but cold and gooey. Poor experience. Will not go back.
Three of us really enjoyed the food. However, the fourth person, who ordered the short ribs, said the meat was chewy. We suggested he send it back, but he refused. All in all, it was a very pleasant dining experience.
We initially ordered, to share, roasted Brussels sprouts that ended up being sweetened with Maple syrup that ruined the actual flavor of the sprouts. We then ordered a Red Beet salad that happened to have only 4 small (half an inch) squared of red beet!
My wife then ordered Beef Stroganoff which was served with large flat pasta which was under cooked to the point one could not even evaluate them as "al dente" She could not eat any of it!
I sadly accepted their special which was Bison. The size of the portion was incredibly small! My plate consisted of two small pieces of Bison (3 inches by 2 inches and half an inch thick) over a mash potato and some veggie I could not make out what it to be. They advertise themselves to be a "pro" local farmer supporter while they are offering Bison in NJ!?! Our bill ended up to be $97.00 without drinks (BYOB) coffee or desert! Not correct at all.
Very disappointing meal for all 4 in our party. The place looks nice and my wife thought it was charming but it’s very loud. As soon as we looked over the menu we were informed that they were already out of the filet main dish and the scallops main dish. We all showed a fair amount of frustration as these dishes were what most of us wanted to order, and our server said “if you want those dishes, you have to get here earlier” (it was only 8pm... on a Saturday... WTF?!?).
From there it just got more frustrating. We were told everything is fresh and made to order. If so, then why was our shrimp and grits app served cold? The fried green tomatoes were tough, however the biscuits and bread were very good.
My friend and I ordered the wedge salad. Very skimpy on the tomatoes and bacon. As for the truffled blue cheese dressing? Non existent on the plate and non existent in flavor. The was not even a hint of either truffle or blue cheese, so bland, one the worst presentations of a dressing and a big discrepancy from the menu description to the actual product. To me that was the biggest disappointment.
As for the main dishes - I ordered the burger without mushrooms and it came out covered in mushrooms and our server said the kitchen gave her a hard time about returning it to be done correctly. I felt bad for her cause I watched her put the order in and she clearly ordered it with no mushrooms. My wife’s short ribs were flavorful but the side dishes were bland and undercooked. Our friends both got the stroganoff and said it was just ok.
Overall I would say we had a high feeling of dissatisfaction. Maybe with better execution and attention to detail this could become a good restaurant, but we’ll never find out.
We had dinner at the Farmhouse for the first time and were impressed by the creative, fresh options including shrimp and grits appetizer and the burger. Definitely worth the trip.
The food was bland, over cooked and served cold. The portions were small and expensive. I wouldn’t go back.
We have driven by many times, wanting to try it out. Sorry we hadn't done it sooner! All food comes from farms within 90 miles and is all seasonal. All food is fresh; no freezers on site (except for the ice cream - which was AMAZING). Portions are generous. They also have a "restaurant week" style every night where you can pick to have a 3 or 4 course meal for one price. Kenneth was our server - very knowledgable and extremely personable - joked with us and really make us feel comfortable. Owner even stopped by our table and helped bring out the food!
We loved our meal at the Farmhouse. It was recommended to us from a friend and we are looking forward to going back. It was a great experience.
Everything was AMAZING! We'll definitely be back!
Great place, good food a little to cold
First off I want to say the service was great. I have no issues with the waiting staff. They were nice and courteous. Now to the bad part. When you expect to order a dish like Duck hash you expect to have duck in it. There was no duck in it. Do not order it period. They said there was duck was no duck in it. Just root vegetables and the egg on top. Which was fine but no duck. We even told the staff we showed them the dish. Do you see duck in it. They assured us there was duck. But after a couple a bites no duck taste at all. Pass on that dish. We also ordered the Waldorf chicken. The chicken or Cornish hen they said was undercooked! Pink in my meat. I even showed the staff the meat was Pink but the assured me it was cooked bc the poached it at the correct cooking temp. I was disgusted and stopped eating. Didn’t get a refund so I paid and we left. Don’t go to this place at all
Appetizers were excellent as was salads but main course was not good. I had the duck which was undercooked and very tough in texture. Ambiance was great
We weren't blown away with our meal, however, both my boyfriend and I agreed that we would try Farmhouse again as it just may have been what we ordered didn't match our expectations. The food wasn't bad and we loved how they use fresh, local ingredients and really appreciated the unique dishes on the menu. Service was excellent and our food came out in a timely manner. Definitely looking forward to our second visit!
Chefs choice was amazing
I had been waiting to try this restaurant after watching the reno and hearing pretty good things. The decor and ambiance is very good, but the food and service were very bad. So disappointing. Waited 15 minutes for our server while other tables seated after us were greeted and ordered. My mom's beef stroganoff noodles were over cooked, my scallops were cold in middle (kept telling my self it was sushi as I swallowed) and my daughter's pasta alfredo was inedible. The rolls were undercooked in the middle too. Then our waiter chased us in the parking lot saying we hadn't paid, but we had left cash with the bill and another server had picked it up already. Maybe it was an off night, but I had really hoped it would become a new neighborhood spot for us.
I went here for my wife's birthday and it was well worth it. The Chef's 6 Course tasting menu was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, local, and creatively prepared. The service was excellent; the staff was friendly and did a nice job explaining the menu. The prices were fair, but a bit pricey, even for Cherry Hill standards. They have a small selection of local wines, but it is a BYOB. We had the Pecha wine that went very well with the Scallops, and even the braised short ribs (which were super tender and had very little fat). I would recommend this restaurant for just about any occasion.
Food prep was awesome. The shrimp and grits were HEAVANLY.
Not many options and food was somewhat bland. The staff was very friendly and courteous and the ambiance was very nice
My husband ordered the short rib sos. The biscuits that came with the short rib sos were very hard and inedible. My over medium eggs were cooked over hard. We had dinner there a few weeks ago and it was phenomenal. So we thought breakfast would also be phenomenal and it was not. Especially for the price we paid for breakfast. Needless to say we will not be back.
