this was a lovely outdoor dining experience! The Farmhouse gardens atmosphere is just delightful, and it helps that the late summer weather is perfect for outdoor eating. The fare was traditional American--sandwiches, salads, and delightful mac n cheese.
We would love to see a better menu, like farm to table type foods. It would go very well with the beautiful garden setting and music.
What a treat, to eat delicious food in a lovely garden on a gorgeous summer afternoon! Distancing in place - very safe. Food, as usual, top notch with generous portions. Try the skinny margarita for a real treat.
We ate outdoors at the Farmhouse, which is new to them due to the pandemic. They have picnic tables set up, some with tablecloths and some with umbrellas. Unfortunately, all had ants, but I don't know what else they could do about that. We switched from an umbrella table to a tablecloth table, and that helped a little (the ants were marching up and down the umbrella, hurrah, hurrah). Everything was served in to-go containers, which was helpful in all the ways you could imagine. We ordered the waffle fries, which were loaded with cheese, bacon, fresh jalapenos and chives, with ranch on the side, which I was happy about 'cuz I'm not a huge ranch person. They were fresh and crispy, would definitely get again. My wife and I shared a burger and a salad. The burger was grilled, server on a kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato and onion, and pickles in their own container, all on the side. They did forget cheese, but honestly this burger didn't need it. Even halved, it was quite satisfying. The salad had goat cheese and strawberries, was very refreshing. There was live music as well, at a perfect volume. We're looking forward to going back.
Great experience! Amazing ambiance from acoustic music. Food delicious and servers were attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. We went with our children, kid-friendly. No wines by the glass though, need to buy a bottle or go with a mixed drink.
We had a birthday celebration there this week. The service was good the people were great but I do have one thing to report that could be better. We have been to other outdoor venues. We didn’t care for the meals coming out in “to go” containers at all. I truly understand the whole COVID thing but I have been to a restaurant similar in quality and set up and we had regular glassware and tableware. I felt the rolls on my petit fillet sliders were too soft/soggy because of it. Again I can’t stress enough how great the staff was but I think this maybe needs to have a re-look?
Open air dining. We had the feeling we were the only diners but in truth there were two other tables. The food was excellent but limited. We thought we could get a regular dinner but that was not available
Although we ate at the restaurant outside, our dinners we were served in takeout container.
Great atmosphere, waiter was great, food excellent. Would go back
Loved it. Food was excellent and staff was great!
Great service and food. Friday night with live music was really nice. We were sitting in the garden outside and enjoyed the evening immensely. We felt very safe with social distancing and staff wearing PPE. Thank you!
Outdoor dining with music (on this occassion) and tables placed with an extra safety margin beyond just standard social distancing.
Beautiful outdoor dining with wonderful live music and great food. What more could you ask for?
Terrific evening all around, with Anakai Ney's lovely voice, F. Bistro's outstanding food, competent staff, and a table in the shade.
It's always a pleasure to dine at the Bistro. We have never had a bad experience. They always get us to the play on time. We recommend this restaurant to all.
I am sure they will enjoy also.
Great place to catch up with friends. Food was delicious and brunch was a great price.
We went for the prix fixe brunch and play deal, and it couldn't have been more delightful. A real wood fire was burning in the fireplace; the service was quiet and efficient, and the food was delicious. Even though it was prix fixe, there were a number of options. Coffee was high quality and hot.
My family and I were delighted to discover The Farmhouse Bistro at People's Light. We've lived in the area for four years now and just stumbled into it on a Sunday brunch/lunch. The staff and service were great. The ambiance, furnishings, and local glassware provided a great experience. Loved the colored rock sugar sticks for the cappuccino (and so did my kids). The steak, caramelized apple french toast, and warm apple tartan were great!
Wonderful ambience, quiet environment conducive to conversation. Excellent service. Food was rather disappointing, very mediocre, could have been improved with more creative use of seasonings.
A special dinner out with our daughters prior to the People’s Light panto.
Food was much better than last few times we were in.
Live supporting the theater and the Bistro!
Convenient before an evening performance, with the staff careful to make sure one doesn't miss curtain time. Both of us enjoyed our entrees and desserts.
Everything was very good, however the already included 20% gratuity struck me as a little high especially since it was a buffet
Enjoyed the Thanksgiving Day Buffet at Farmhouse. Very good food, especially for the cost. Particularly enjoyed the fresh salad and fish. Also quality desserts. Wine and spirits might be better presented, but overall an excellent meal and experience.
Best idea we’ve had to date. The food was excellent. The staff was excellent. The place was beautiful. I will make sure to go again next year. And I will use the tickets provided for one of your shows. Thanks.
The food was phenomenal especially the butternut squash soup. The atmosphere was electric and the service was excellent. Thumbs up
We certainly enjoyed our dinner at the Farmhouse before attending the Panto. The atmosphere was really nice and the manager was very helpful in working with the theater to solve a seating dilemma for us before we left the restaurant. Thanks for a great evening!!
Food was fabulous. But it took so long we didn't have time to eat the dessert from the prix fixe brunch menu before the show at the theater began. And we booked our reservation 1 hour and 45 min before the show. Also they gave us the wrong dessert to go. I will try them again though because of the menu and the great tasting food!
The food was very good. I ate from the prix fixed menu, a very good deal, I thought. The scallops were very well prepared, everyone in our group was happy with their food. The staff was very accommodating. We had a reservation for two but were actually four, they found us a table, no problem. We even had our dessert packed to enjoy at the show after dinner. I would definitely do it again.
Excellent service, great food on the $40, three-course menu -
The Farmhouse Bistro is always enjoyable. Our table was ready and they even had our tickets ready so that we did not have to make an additional stop at the Box Office. Great wines by the glass and plenty of choices on the menu.
Nice bistro with great ambiance for brunch or dinner before a show. You save money on the show when you add the meal/show combo. A lot of food for the price.
A convenient restaurant when attending a People's Light performance. Food quality and presentation is very good, but preparation could be better, e.g. wonderful swordfish steak but cooked very dry. Farmhouse ambience and service staff quite attentive and pleasant.
We are season ticket holders, so we go before every show we are attending
We frequently eat here before the theater. The food is not fancy, but is fresh and well prepared and presented. I love the peaceful atmosphere after a busy day.
I had crab soup, which was very good; and the veal, which was just okay. My wife had the filet mignon, which was just okay. We both had rice and broccoli, which were both just okay - both had the same quality that we would have achieved at home. We weren’t impressed.
This outing was part of a dinner theater experience at People’s Light. It was delightfully relaxing to enjoy a quiet dinner at this restaurant which is right next door to the theater. The fixed price menu offered plenty of tempting options. We all selected seafood dishes, which tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. All of our food items were fresh and well prepared. Service was pleasant and friendly. We finished up in ample time to stroll across to the theater.
Lovely mother’s day
Brunch was yummy and our server was very courteous and attentive. A little pricey but you get a lot of options in the buffet. So you can get your money’s worth if your stomach allows it! Definitely worth pairing a meal and a show. It was a great experience!
I had the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was chewy and not fresh. Way too much pasta, and also overcooked. My friend had the veal, which was a bit chewy and her vegetables were overcooked and soggy. Our salads were good.
