Excellent chicken tenders, which I ordered for my girls. They finished it!
Moist and juicy.
The service was very rude. We had a reservation and we asked for a preferred table but the usher brushed us off saying those were "reserved". The waiter was very condescending and curt. The food is overpriced and mediocre tasting. Dont go here.
Not good really food was burnt
The food was pretty good. Our server was very friendly, though we didn’t see him much (it was a busy Friday evening and it didn’t seem like there were many servers on deck, so this was understandable and not a big deal to me). Our biggest complaint was the party seated next to us — a party of 10+ younger folks that spent their entire time yelling at each other and moving around the dining area without masks on. It was noisy and I wasn’t crazy about having to dodge unmasked people that clearly haven’t felt the need to stick to pandemic restrictions. The fondue and fried chicken were tasty.
Not bad, but not jumping to go back. Food was fine overall just not anything special.
This is my favorite restaurant. The food is fresh. The drinks are good and the service is supervb.
All doors were open. It was cold. Service was awful. They brought main courses before appetizers and then appetizers in a few minutes. So our table had all the food at once getting cold.
Everything comes with fries. Unless you order a salad. I hated not having an option of substituting with healthier options. The “fondu” was just awful. Anyone who ever tried an actual fondue would not be able to call it a fondue. It was a fatty curry- flavored mush. The fries were cold. My coffee was lukewarm. The rest of our food was very very mediocre (flank steak, fish& chips, grilled cheese, tomato soup, calamari).. I would never want to eat there again.
We were there for a special occasion and really tried to have a good time. But it was just... bad. Just bad.
The staff is attentive and thoughtful. The menu is understandably limited as of March 8 (I'm sure due to the shutdown uncertainties) but the items are all delicious and served promptly. Love the cheese fondue, calamari and beet salad in particular. The vibe on San Pedro St. (closed off to car traffic) is hopping and fun.
Their tent is 3 sided for safety but also does a good job cutting the draft, and there are ample patio heaters.
The service was great and food was awesome. My wife order the farmers union salad and she enjoyed it. I ordered the hamburger which was also good.
We really enjoyed the ambiance since it was quiet during Covid. The food was all very delicious!
I really like the Market Salad, I seem to get it every time I visit! Nice to have the street blocked off so there can be outdoor dining. I hope it stays that way even after pandemic!
Great spot in downtown San Jose, as it as an easy walk from my hotel. The outdoor seating was really nice (alley converted into restaurant with spacious seating and heat lamps). Huge portions and a lot of variety on their "outside dining menu". Good social distancing and hands-free menu & payment.
The service was very slow and had to keep asking for condiments and water. Food order was wrong. I had asked for a specific dish I get all the time and was told they don’t make that but funny I was here two weeks ago and got it. Hopefully there will be better service next time.
Food was subpar, wouldn’t recommend. Tried the biscuits but they weren’t true biscuits. French fries tasted as if they had been in the fryer too long/sitting out. Waiter was so rude (huffed and puffed, rolled eyes, stood next to me when deciding the tip amount). Overall, not worth the money—you could get the same quality food at any chain restaurant.
Had reservation arrived early and was accommodated early. Service was fast and the heat was wonderful in the tent. My biggest issue was the food. Cesar salad I had was not remarkable and was sloppily put together. My salmon dish was ok the salmon was great but the root vegetables weren’t cooked all the way. I did express concern with the root vegetables with my waitress. I would not go out of my way to dine here again.
I booked this restaurant because others were all booked. However, it was so much beyond expectation! The lighting, the heater, the service, the food... all so amazing.
Valentines
My parents cannot stop talking about how wonderful their dinner was. Thank you The Farmers Union! My parents don’t get a lot of chances to treat themselves out and it is wonderful to see how happy they were and how much they enjoyed their evening. Both of them said the food was amazing as well.
Good outdoor seating option. I enjoyed the service and the food very much. Good drink options too.
Service was amazing and they did a great job with the tent and lighting (and heat). Food was excellent. A few items came out cold but they corrected and made up for it! One of our favs! Best cocktails around!
Went here for a first date. Service was excellent and with a reservation we sat right away. Our food and drink came quickly. My salad with goat cheese figs avacado and chicken was very tasty. His steak looked good but he said his fries were a bit too spicy. I’m currently keto and so I was happy to find many things on the menu I could eat. Our meal came out to around $72 before tip which I thought was reasonable for two drinks and two meals. Thanks again!
Food was delicious. Cant wait to go back. Patio was heated perfectly
Great overall experience. Service was a little slow and I had to ask for a heater.
They are doing a great job under the new restrictions. Felt very comfortable and the outdoor setup is great!
We came the first day they had outdoor dining open again after restrictions. The food was great and even with all of the challenges of reopening their service was excellent.
Good food, good service, good vibes, friendly staff, and good location
Keeping with CDC guidelines, tables are spaced quite generously. There is outdoor seating available, but it was a cold and rainy night, so we were seated inside near an open window. It was a bit chilly, but the attention to air flow gave us confidence in our relative safety as we dined. Definitely worth supporting in the Industry's darkest hour.
The service was not the best, although I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The food was okay, however the venue was fantastic.
The food is AMAZING. My sister and I brought our grandma here for a belated birthday lunch, and my grandma and I were drooling over their grilled cheese and tomato soup. The whole ride home we couldn’t stop complaining about how full we were! Shout out to Francisco, our waiter, for bringing us a free dessert when he found out we were treating our grandma! We have no idea what the dessert was, but it was one of the best desserts we’ve ever had.
The description on the menu did not match what I got. It was a big sloppy mess
Great service. We sat outside and it was really nice. The food was excellent and the drink were creative.
Always great
This was my 2nd visit in as many weeks and the food/service was great! So pleasant to be able to get out and enjoy a great meal w/friends.
Celebrating our son’s bday.
Always great and great service
They always have the best food and nicest workers here!
Nice spot for outdoor dining. Mask on or off questionable.
The food here is excellent! I would recommend getting a few small plates to really sample the great selection. I also would highly recommend the sangria!
Not memorable.
Ambiance and service was great. Food was a tad disappointing. Highly recommend the biscuits with honey butter.
