The Farm House
Go for the: Beignets stuffed with pimento cheese, with harissa sauce on the side.
No opportunity to change for food allergies. Not enough dinner options if you don’t eat pork (religious) or shellfish (allergy). These are not “preferences”, they present obstacles to dining with such a restrictive menu.
Awesome all around. We’ll plan another trip back there for sure.
What a great find in Nashville. Near to everything, but not in the thick of things. It is not often a restaurant or bar has a Rye that I have not tried, but The Farm House did! Congrats and it was delicious. Additionally the Pig Ear app was the best I have ever eaten (and I have eaten many!). All in all a perfect evening from the drinks to the entree's . I'll be back the next time I am in BNA!
The food was creative and delicious. James passion for food and great service added to our experience. Highly recommend.
Disappointing. I have loved this restaurant in the past but nothing seemed to work tonight.
Great meal and excited to have the opportunity to eat here again. Have not been to Nashville in about 3 years and knew I’d return here when I came back.
Our waiter was always there when we needed him and not there when we did not. Was very knowledgable about the menu and the locally sourced ingredients. Anything on the menu was good, since there was 6 of us, we tried most all items. Trout, kale salad, gouda grits were all favorites. Also, Pappy shots were a highlight of the evening. Will go back first chance.
Delicious meal and 2 for 1 drinks
Really enjoyed our time at The Farm House! We ordered the Biscuit and Cornbread plate which was the perfect starter for our meal. My husband and I split the Smoked Chicken Reuben and the Cuban sandwiches -- both were delicious :)
Great food, a little loud and service was stretched but I would go back and recommend. Try the beignets and devil eggs!
The pork steak and chicken were excellent. Certainly local grown and seasonal vegetables. That pumpkin cake topped off the meal with that French pressed coffee.
Food was fantastic, but if you are hungry go somewhere else. Portions are small.
Had a good time at dinner, the food was amazing. I only have one major complaint... being on vacation and having dinner with another couple that we hadn’t seen in a few years, we very much enjoyed the meal and conversation. At the end of the evening we got the bill, and this is where I made the mistake, I didn’t check the bill. I gave the server our card and we left. After I got back to Illinois, after our vacation, I was going through the receipt and realized that I was over charged for three drinks, totaling almost $50 that we never ordered or received. I am VERY disappointed that the server either messed up or intentionally up-charged us counting on us not detailing the bill at the time of payment. Learned a very important lesson this night.
Overpriced and not well cooked
Food was - frankly - marginal. And what is it about mini-martinis?
Great experience and fantastic food. Seemed a little costly since it had a casual feel to the interior but the portions were great and quality of the food was amazing. Would recommend visit at least once, its a rotating seasonal menu so will be planning to revisit in the future.
The food was creative and well prepared. Service was attentive and prompt.
This was not my first trip to the Farm House. The food was good, fresh etc. However, the portions seemed small for the price. My trout consisted of 2 nice halves of trout with two so-so small potato pancakes, all on about a 1/4 cup bed of just Ok non descript salad veggies. The price was $29. Others at the table had a pasta dish which they said was good with an egg on top, but it also seemed to be a small portion. On my previous visits, I don't remember having this not full feeling when I finished the meal.
The service was excellent, we were going to the symphony and asked to be out of there by 7:30. Our excellent waiter made it happen, with refills on water and good attention to us.
We have been to The Farm House a few times. It's always very fresh tasting and the flavors always blend very well. This time my boyfriend had the flank steak and it was a salt lick. We said something to the waiter after, just as being informative and it was definitely dismissed. He ate the flank steak and rubbed or cut the outside off to remove the over salting. Every other part of that dish was fabulous. I had the trout, it was light and flavorful. When I tasted the potato cake, I thought well it will be just a potato cake, but it was amazingly fluffy and not the texture expected. The trout was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were the perfect blend. We will go back and suggest it to friends, we will just ask for no salt.
Very good and interesting food selections. Service was terrific.
Had a great dinner before walking over to the Schermerhorn for a concert.
I guess this restaurant wasn't really our style.
Very very limited menu.
Pretty expensive for the portion size. Especially the steak. Good lord. Almost $64.00 per pound for ribeye?
Anyway, If you're into farm to table... give it a try.
Dinner and service was fabulous! Loved the creative menu and cocktails. Nice atmosphere and convenient location. We ate at top end restaurants while we were in Nashville and this was the best food we had anywhere.
Was in Nashville with another couple-went to Farmhouse before going out at night. Decided to order a bunch of small plates and not a full dinner. So many good choices! Hard boiled eggs, corn bread and cheesy beignets were favorites of the trip!
Deviled eggs, meat tacos, good variety of food.
Everything we had was amazing! The pimento cheese beignets were out of this world delicious and the Gouda grits are to die for! Great cocktails and spectacular service set the Farm House apart from other Nashville restaurants.
Can’t wait to be in Nashville to eat here again.
We had a fantastic meal at The Farm House on our trip to Nashville last weekend. My pork steak entree was the most tender piece of pork ever. LOVED the entire experience!
This might be the best food we've had in Nashville, and we are trying all of the hot spots. Everything made fresh in the kitchen, including every sauce and condiment. Do not miss the pimento cheese beignets with harissa sauce. The pork shoulder over dirty rice and black eyed peas was incredible, and I'd die happily after the Gouda grits. A little gem hidden so close to the madness of Broadway St.
Absolutely delicious, fresh farm to table dining experience. The pork dish that I enjoyed was amazingly flavorful and everyone at the table was forking into my plate. The ambiance is a bit weak - super quiet, no active bar scene (Dined at prime hours on a Sat night). Go for the food, choose wisely w your waiter’s guidance and then fall onto Broadway for some live music.
By far our best meal in Nashville! I have to eat gluten-free and dairy-free, so finding a restaurant that can accommodate my diet is a challenge. The Farm House far exceeded my expectations! Every bite of everything we ordered was delicious, and our server was very helpful and kind. We will be back for sure!
Good vibe. Great food. Loud and comfy
We live in Nashville and despite considering ourselves "foodies" there are plenty of restaurants around town that we haven't tried. We've recentoyumade a commitment to go somewhere we've been wanting to try haven't. Decided to go to Farmhouse for hub's birthday. The food was all wonderful - fresh, interesting, delicious, well prepared and presented. Our server was terrific. Only negative for me was the dining room itself - tables small and pretty close together and the room is loud - not conducive to quiet conversation if that's what you're looking for.
Great place to eat! Service was great and food delish!
Pork over beans and rice was excellent.
I will come back just for it.
Really really amazing food. That’s why you come. Fun ambiance, and pretty good service too. This is an inventive, farm to table place that the city should really embrace. They need more of a wine list (Robert Hall Merlot makes a 20 bottle wine list?), but this is a small criticism in an otherwise extraordinary restaurant. Start with the deviled eggs and go from there. Again, really really amazing food.
Another favorite place of mine in Nashville for great service, excellent drinks and consistently fresh and exceptionally prepared farm to table Southern fare.
Cozy atmosphere, excellent service and probably the most delicious food I have ever consumed. I didn’t know carrots could be drool-worthy.
