When you visit our restaurant, we take great responsibility for giving you an experience that will leave a smile on your face and your senses delighted. The Falls is decidedly local: locally owned, locally sourced, and focused on our local community. Whether it is a special occasion or just a random Tuesday, we look forward to having you over for dinner.
Good food and service. We will return.
The environment is the best in Athens. But we come to eat. The lamb was dry, and flavorless, risotto was starchy and like the asparagus, under cooked. The bun on the hamburger completely fell apart,. A fork was needed. This was our third bad meal. Beet carpaccio was delicious, but was so little food, four small bites—tops.
Great menu, Great service, excellent food. The salmon was delicious
We were seated promptly, Our server greeted us and took our order in a timely fashion. The background music was pleasant. The pace of our meal was perfect. The food was excellent. Overall our experience was good.
I celebrated my 21st birthday on the patio where there was live music and a beautiful view of the river! Food was amazing- I got the burger and my friend got the short rib. We both looooved our entrees and will definitely be back again!
Good food and service in a nice location near Athens.
We have eaten at The Falls a number of times. The food is always good. On this occasion, the food was excellent and the service was great. On other visits, the service has been a little spotty. The dining room is attractive and the patio is very nice. It's a solid choice. The prices are a little high for Athens, but some of the choices are reasonably priced.
It was a very nice evening and we enjoyed the musical entertainment, he was great!
Lack of flavor. I ordered a steak, really temder piece of meat but was very bland
Grossly understaffed. Empty tables weren’t bussed the entire time we were there even though there were only around 7 tables of people eating. Food was slow and just ok. I won’t hurry back.
Great food & atmosphere. My steak was perfection 👌🏼. Will definitely be back next time we’re in the area!
Had lunch at 11:30 on a Friday. Place was pretty empty. Beautiful venue inside and out with a spectacular view from the window or from the seating on the deck. Elevator for those not wanting to go down the stairs. Impressive bar. The chef special menu looked great, but went with Salads, tortilla soup and butcher burger (medium well). All were very good. Server was very attentive when she was around. Lovely place and meal. Not the fast in out type of place, but more a savor your meal and enjoy your company and the view sort of place. Parking is rough at this venue with multiple restaurants even at 11:30. I parked over on grass with 20 other cars and it worked ok. There is parking for disabled in front of restaurant.
Fabulous food, service and atmosphere. We always enjoy dining at The Falls!
We had seating in a private area near the hostess desk. It was unique seating and was fun being partitioned off and above the main seating area. However, because we were alone in this area the service was slow and not as attentive since the waiter had to run up the stairs to check on us. The person at the hostess desk tried to assist.
Nice spot and great menu but food quality was severely lacking and seemed like the kitchen staff might have been understaffed.
Food was mediocre, but seating and service was horrible. Our party of 5 arrived 15 minutes early to enjoy a beverage at the bar. We recognize it was a football game weekend, but we were not seated until 25 minutes AFTER our reservation, despite the fact that nearly half the tables in the restaurant were empty and the table where we sat was empty the entire time. It took over 20 minutes just to get a drink and over an hour just to get bread service. The bread actually arrived after the appetizers. The yeast rolls were the highlight of the meal - they were absolutely melt in your mouth delicious, and everyone at the table loved them. The appetizers were mediocre; salads were to be expected and the fried mozarella was more like an entree portion. It was quite decent. The entrees were fine - although my daughter's steak was over seared on the outside, to the point of tasting a bit burnt. The scallops were good, as were the lamb shank and salmon. Overall, the food was OK, but the service / seating issues just ruined the experience for everyone.
Food tasted fine, however very small portions for the price. Honestly felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. First time eating here for a special occasion and highly disappointed.
Our dinner lasted 4 hours. We sat for 45 minutes after ordering drinks and finally had to go to the bar and get them ourselves. Terrible service, ok food.
Agree with previous reviewer(s) that this restaurant has great potential: menu, taste, bar, ambience, .... The problem is that they are greatly understaffed. We waited 1:45 for our food to be delivered (no starters, just main course). They need to hire properly and get help on how to efficiently run a restaurant.
Great setting & excellent food & drink menu without having to go downtown. Easy free parking. Had the Fried Green Tomatoes & Empanadas as an appetizer. Giant Scallops on wilted spinach with pine nuts for entree. Great musician out on the back patio listening to the waterfalls. Will definitely be back.
This restaurant has soo much potential but they've let us down twice now with the wait for food.
If you don't have the kitchen to serve a crowd, don't accept that many reservations.
Two weekends in a row, the first we never got our entrees after having to wait for 2 hours, decided to give it another chance on a less busy weekend to once again have to wait for our entrees, this time just a little over an hour.
The food was good once it got there, but took way too long.
Dined outdoors, which was lovely.
Had two appetizers (half charcuterie board and bruschetta), two cocktails each (blueberry monitor and blackberry cocktail)- delicious!
I had the arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette.
Springer Mountain chicken for me; linguini and meatballs for my husband. We enjoyed both very Much.
We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we just booked our birthday dinner for us and 11 family members next month!
The customer service and atmosphere was excellent. We will definitely be back now that we have been there. We will recommend to all we know.
There were six of us who went on a very busy football weekend. We were seated when our reservation was, and we ordered quickly....our food came out 1 1/2 hours later. Our waiter did show up twice to tell us first the kitchen was very busy and the second time that our order was coming soon. We never got water refills, nor more bread for the long wait. One at our table ordered a beer while waiting and that took 30 minutes. This being said, our waiter did have tables all over the place. Sounds like there may be a management problem.
For UGA game ,, was great setting, excellent food and service! Many thx
Had a quiet luncheon with friends, enjoyed being able to hear everyone without speaking loudly. Food was quite good, service was outstanding, price reasonable.
Wonderful service! Great drinks! Excellent ambiance. We had an enjoyable evening.
We ordered a cheese plate and nothing really on it was fantastic tasting and it was $21.00, I felt like it was NOT worth the price. Then I ordered a burger that was dry and crumbly. The Asparagus that came with the burger was under cooked and crunchy.
The actual restaurant was pretty and the atmosphere was nice but we won't go back.
We’d rather wait three hours downtown than eat here again. The staff seemed to be working hard, but the service was just not good (likely understaffed) and the food was worse. Really, really don’t enjoy giving bad review, but it was bad.
Birthday dinner. Reservation at 8. Table wasn’t ready and we didn’t get food until 9:45 PM. I get a game day weekend, but we saw multiple people sat after us that ate and left well before we had food. No manager even thought to come over to excuse this, and plus we are a table of 8 they got automatic 20% gratuity because they don’t care about the service. Super disappointed in the dinner place I picked for my friends bday. Also, no one mentioned the bday. Super slow night. Finally closing out and leaving at 10:25 PM which has ruined
Jaime was our waiter and outstanding! Food was incredible. Filet could cut with a fork! Perfect!
This is a lovely restaurant off the beaten path in Athens. We love to go to The Falls to celebrate special occasions. Plenty of space so you do not feel crowded as you do in many downtown Athens restaurants. Great views (you need to reserve and request a table by a tall window) and great ambience. Love the high ceilings. Menu is small but the food is always freshly prepared and tasty. Service is pretty good as well. Wine list could use a little improvement but overall, highly recommend if you are in the area and don't want to dine in a noisy, jam packed environment.
The food has consistently been amazing the several times we have eaten there (1 lunch, 3 dinners). The service has been outstanding, except for tonight. It was slow, and we felt as if we were an imposition and not as welcome guests. Our server, who we found out was also a supervisor, did not even smile or express a positive attitude towards us until she brought us the check. We even had to walk to the bar for our water to be refilled after waiting for 15 minutes. The review would have been higher if the service matched the wonderful food and ambiance. We were so disappointed. We will give them another chance because of their great food, but should we have another similar service experience, it will be our last time.
Great food and great service. Sarah was our host and did an outstanding job.
Ambiance and setting was great. Nice and quiet setting - some low background music made it just right to carry on a quiet conversation but not have to work at hearing. We both selected steaks, and both were good cuts of meat, but disappointed we asked for medium rare and got medium to well-done -expected better, but did not complain - they were still pretty good. For desert I had chocolate mousse, and it was excellent, except "biscuits" they sent with it were burnt - we did complain about that and told the waiter the kitchen should have been embarrassed to send that out.
It was wonderful. We took our student for lunch Sunday.
Our server Andrea was very friendly and efficient.
Would definitely recommend the falls to friends and family!
Food & service were good but it took way too long to get served. Only a few tables were occupied but it took us 1 1/2 hours to get our lunch.
Great food. Selection was great. Drinks were terrific.
This was a Thursday night. There was a large party, but our server was not part of that party. It took her over 15 minutes to even come by the table and the restaurant was not even close to full. She didn’t know much about The menu or what the percentage of discount for entrees were on Ladies Night. I ordered shrimp cocktail, normally $16, but It was 1/2 off. It was 5 FROZEN shrimp!!! The shrimp were still frozen! My friends also did not like what they ordered. Sub par for even 1/2 prices. And our server didn’t even know what an “app” was. She thought we were talking about Snapchat!!! One of my friends owns 6 restaurants in the area and my other friends have all worked in restaurants and we have no idea how our server could work in the Indy and not know what an app is. Regardless, we were over charged for what we got and you lost 4 customers that night.
