The food was underwhelming and the service was quite bad.
Great dinner, with amazing pasta.
One of my favorites spots in LA
Food is fantastic - service very average. Manager was fun and engaging.
First time after pandemic. Would be nice to hear some music and to see some greenery outside. Although it is understandable that restaurants suffered a lot.
The service was slow.
The server was nice but not attentive and not very good manners.
You guys need to upgrade the restrooms and keep them more clean.
I would still come back for a great food!
Thank you and I am glad you survived the crisis!
We’ve always come to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries here, but the quality has dropped. When we questioned why our food was watery, they said it’s supposed to be like that. The only reason we know it wasn’t supposed to be that way was because we’ve ordered it many times and the table next to us ordered the same and it was not wet bread. However, drinks and ambiance are great.
we celebrated my dads birthday here yesterday & they never fail to amaze us! the food was delicious and the service was over the top! despite covid and restrictions, we all had a fantastic time. thanks factory kitchen!!!
We had a great time with delicious food coupled with great service.
Our first visit - but not our last !! Gorgeous evening sitting out on the patio with incredible food and really good service. Prosciutto with burrata on fried sage bread to start then wild shrimp ravioli and slow cooked lamb in a rich tomato sauce with house made gnocchi - fantastic. The Italian ice cream sundae dessert was to die for!
Staff very attentive
Average restaurant... not worth the drive downtown. Food was nothing special. We wouldn’t go back.
Great place.. Great food.. I will come back to try more dishes
Decent service, late plates & outside area smelled like sewage.
For the price of each dish I would really expect more on there.
Music was super quiet. I could hear everyone’s conversation. Server got mad at me for asking for bread. Service was super slow and waited 25 min between ordering my wine and receiving it.
Had a great time with good food and great company, but the highlight was our amazing waiter (Edwin). He was one of the most genuine waiter I’ve ever experience in the city. His opinions were rigorous and honest! 5 star service
They tried to charge us a “covid fee” of $12 for making the area “covid safe,” but when we requested to sit outside (since they have an outdoor patio), they said we could not be seated there even though it was empty. They said they didn’t have enough staff... left me wondering why they continue to advertise outdoor seating. The outdoor seating option is why we decided to eat at the Factory Kitchen in the first place.
The food was great, as always. The outdoor patio was nice although the music was too loud and played on a cheap speaker, so there was an obnoxious high-pitched noise accompanying the music. Not a deal breaker but not the best ambience.
We'd been to FK several times with friends, but it was never our idea until tonight. I took advantage of an OpenTable rewards card I'd earned, so off we went. The 'ambience' wasn't as it normally is because we were out in the parking lot, part of their makeshift outdoor seating, but it was fine. A windy night, they made sure we were plenty warm.
We started with a cocktail and we had our waitress, Whitney, decant a bottle of amarone. My love had the ortolana, a mixed greens salad. I don't know what they did to this bowl of lettuce but it was amazing. I had the palamita-- seared tuna with pea tendrils and a lemon dressing. Wonderful. We shared the casonzei -pork sausage & beef ravioli with brown butter, pancetta, sage, parmigiano. INSANE! Then my love had the ossobuco--best either of us have ever had in a restaurant, and I had the porchetta--pork belly with a simple mire poix. Honestly it was the most unforgettable meal. We finished with the cannolis (you get 4 small). I don't care for cannolis, but these were amazing. I've never had better outside Sicily. I finished with an afogato that was a perfect end to an amazing meal. It's all the way downtown but worth the trip.
The menu has great choices, not run of the mill Italian food. the food is excellent.
Excellent food. This is the second time I have been back since they reopened. Jeff and Hector were great in taking care of us. The modenesi was excellent and is a must try. We also had the mandilli and the porchetta. All good! By the way the starter were cremosella and the sanremese, again all good! Hector did an excellent job pairing the wines for us. His final recommendation of the beignet was excellent. To date, this has to be the best dessert on their menu. Will be returning for sure!
The food was wonderful. As far for service very poor service barely checked on had to keep calling the waiter yet he checked on the other table that was seated across from us over several times during the evening and barely paid us any mind.
DELICIOUS!!!!!!! Can't wait to go back! Only downside is... its' popular and reservations can be scarce last min. Waitstaff seemed a little overwhelmed (drinks came out slowly) but since LA just reopened it might take a moment to get the mojo back. EAT HERE NOW!
Perfect in every way.
Food was delicious, lots of unique & flavorful dishes like the pesto handkerchief pasta & the pistachio cannolis, yum! ! Highly recommend..Great experience in the trendy DTLA area. Enjoy :)
Service and food was amazing!!! Have to get the prosciutto perpuru and handkerchief pasta are a must!!!!
Food is worth it when it’s still warm. We booked for indoor/standard seating but still got arranged outdoor, which is 50 degree that night so food gets cold and become unenjoyable fast. We were seated at the very corner of patio area but still received quality service.
Great food great staff
You can’t beat this place !
Cant wait to get indoors it’s a bit chilly
We made the right choice to select Factory Kitchen as our first restaurant to return to for limited indoor dining in LA. Covid protocols continue amidst great, personalized service and outstanding food. It was great to see our pre-pandemic waiter, back where he belongs.
Although the food at Factory Kitchen has come down a notch, I am very glad it remains open and am confident it will return to its soaring heights.
I love Factory Kitchen, it is always one of my favorites but my last visit I ordered the prosciutto to share, parppadelle with duck, and a glass of pinot noir. The parppadelle was extremely salty with numerous pieces of sharp bone in the pasta, and the pinot noir tasted as if it was old. The prosciutto was great. I was extremely hungry so I didn't say anything, and I also felt bad since restaurants have been struggling during this time so I didn't want to be a pest. I will be back again, as anyone can have a bad night, but I think it is important to write this so that management knows and this can be fixed. Our waiter was wonderful, so service was no issue!
We had an outside table and it was a little bit cold, early in the reopening week. However this might be the best pasta dish I have ever had (amazing pasta with pesto).
It was my first time at the restaurant and it was amazing from beginning to end. Everyone there was amazing and nice. I loved it there. Can’t wait to go back
It was our first time dining out since the pandemic started so it was a big deal for us! We got there very early at 7:15pm and our reservation wasn't until 8pm. There was a very long time so we checked in and was told they would try to get us a table sooner but it might be closer to 8pm. No biggie, our fault for being early. We were hoping there was a bar area we could grab a drink but because of COVID restrictions, no such luck. We sat in our car and checked back in at 8pm. We were told there were 2 guests with 7:45pm reservations ahead of us. After about 20 minutes, we noticed 3 or 4 groups were getting seated so we checked back in and got seated next. They seem to still be working out the kinks of outdoor dining and were a bit overwhelmed, especially since it was DineLA.
The hostess came by to apologize for the wait and went over the menu in great detail. She recommended the Prosciutto which is served on a lightly fried dough and sent it over to us, on the house!! It was a very nice gesture as it wasn't her fault we arrived early. It's that type of customer service that really goes a long way! Not to mention it was our favorite thing all night.
We ordered the Peperu stuffed peppers which we highly recommend and the Cremosella mozzarella spring kale salad. For pastas, we ordered the mandilli di seta (OMG!) so delish, gnocchi malfatti which was pillowy and soft and the boar meat was tender and not gamey at all, and the modenesi which was a bit salty but complemented the other two pastas which were lighter and more delicate.
Such an enjoyable meal, we really enjoyed our night out! Highly recommend!
Thank you to the staff for making our night special!
Great food and service! Outdoor dining was very enjoyable!
Best value in DTLA!
It was ok. Service was slow. Food was ok. Not great.
I am a long time customer. I had a three course dinner--The appetizer was stuffed peppers and roast beef; the pasta course was casonzei; the monk fish the final course. The food was very good and the monkfish was stellar. I waited over 30minutes for the second course. I requested the monkfish be called in as soon as the casonzei was presented at the table. typically clean plates and silverware are delivered between course. I had to ask which was ok in this trying time. But waiting 30 minutes for the pasta and then being told that the kitchen was understaffed. Brera is managed more customer friendly. We missed Andrew.
Fresh handmade pasta is heaven. The handkerchief pasta with pesto light and airy. The pork belly dish is smartly paired with onion and celery that cuts the fatty taste.
Oh, marinated calamari app is a MUST. Fresh & tender with olive and green leaf mix had us wanting more.
I see why Michelin put this restaurant in their 2019 guide.
