The Factory Kitchen - Los Angeles
Helmed by Restaurateur Matteo Ferdinandi, his wife Beverage Director Francine Diamond-Ferdinandi and their longtime friend and Partner Executive Chef Angelo Auriana, the Factory Kitchen re-defined the approach and the experience to casual dining in the city by combining elements of culinary arts, service, and design.
A traditional Italian Restaurant & Bar in the heart of the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles, the Factory Kitchen culinary concept focuses on local recipes from the Northern Italian Regions; but emphasizes on some Ligurian traditional dishes like Mandilli di Seta al Pesto alla Genovese and the Focaccina Calda al Formaggio di Recco.

Incredibly noisy. But the food used to compensate for the chaos. Not any more.
Food was good, noise level unbearable. Would recommend it to young people, not senior citizens. Too much noise.
Dinner with a friend for her birthday! It was my second time, her first.
Waitress was amazing and easygoing. She recommended the Melville Pinot Noir once I described my preferences which was pretty spot :)
Food at the Factory Kitchen never disappoints. Prosciutto as always was the star!! We also ordered the Casonzei and another pasta dish (with boar I want to say) that were both delish.
Friend wanted the controfiletto which was cooked perfectly. Can’t really complain but I will be back for that porchetta which I love.
We went here this past Saturday and everything was delicious! We had the field greens salad, the potato au gratin beets, the ribbon pasta pesto, and the pork belly. The salad was fresh with huge dollops of very creamy goat cheese. The au gratin was amazing with the beets and so gooey and satisfying. I don't think I have ever tasted pesto that amazing. It was velvety and I could really taste the pine nuts in it. Since I don't eat meat, I didn't try the pork belly but my husband said that it was the most delicious he has ever had and that it was not chewy or heavy. He felt it was light but still had all of the flavor. The waitstaff were also very attentive and nice without being pushy and they seemed to be working in a cohesive unit. So happy with our experience.
Great food and service
First off, we were late... horrendous traffic...but they still accommodated us. Our server was good but not great.
The food was outstanding. I’m not a pasta lover but I loved the pasta here. Especially the pasta with pesto. I didn’t even miss that we went meatless, it was that good. The fried leeks and chickpeas were bomb too.
The tables are pretty close so it can be a bit loud however it was comfortable while dining
Delicious food. Attentive service.
The front desk claimed the reservation system was for Las Vegas even though I clearly had a reservation for LA. I don’t know what that was about. You should clearly state kitchen closes at 2pm and then re opens. The entry could be better. I was trying to get into the condos not knowing which door was which. There are no high tops in LA. This should be fixed on open table. On the good side. The bar is beautiful. The meter dei seemed stressed but his service was impeccable. The homeless people outside the restaurant wasn’t very inviting upon leaving. There should be direct access from rest. To valet parking for safety and security. The dishes we had with butter were outstanding.
Really enjoyed our lunch experience, our server made great suggestions. From appetizers to desert each order was plated beautifully. Flavors were bursting and combined marvelously. Food was superbly seasoned and extremely fresh!
The prosciutto and the handkerchief pasta were both to die for.
Pasta a must ..every part of our experience fabulous
Good but not great.
Always a Great Meal!
Still consistent in providing a great meal. Recommend this place to all the pasta lovers out there.
Amazing food! Lovely space and like many other spots.. too loud!!
But the handkerchief pasta was stellar!!
This is our third or fourth time here and it's still just meh. It's SOO loud you can't hear the person whom you are seated right next to which is frustrating and unnecessary - doesn't make the restaurant cooler or the food better. The service is always friendly, helpful and attentive, which I appreciate. The food is fine but not worth the ginormous prices. I do like the adjacent valet parking.
Daughters 25th birthday
Great service and fabulous food!
Good, all the way around.
My friend and I went there for my Birthday lunch, in the end we were both very satisfied. I was over the moon with my "hanker chief" pasta with pesto. My friend ordered the Turkey meatloaf, it was way too salty and she had to send it back, she replaced it with the salmon, which was perfect. They really should offer a variety of salads that include protein, that would satisfy the eating needs of many. And, as I mentioned to our server, "less is more", one can always add salt to a dish but is not able to remove it.
Factory Kitchen is a fun place, lots of activity and great fresh ingredients well prepared. Can't wait to return!
Alway consistantly good... the mandilli di seta should be at every table!
Awesome! Everything was so delicious! Love Factory Kitchen, Angelo and Andrew!
Service and food were exceptional. Would recommend.
Good food but very noisy
Food was excellent but there was something wrong with the gelato we got for dessert. The caramel gelato was fine but the vanilla gelato was not ice cream, it was something else that looked like ice cream. We could not figure out what it was, almost tasted like cookie dough but not sweet, it was not even cold. It did not melt.
Excellent on all levels.
Food is pretty good, service is extremely slow. Lots of servers standing around chatting with each other. Had to ask for bread, though the table next to us got some as soon as they sat down. Took 45 minutes to get our appetizer, and the servers kept telling us that this dish or that dish took extra time to make. Our appetizer was only flatbread with cheese and mushrooms, so I have no idea why that took extra time.
All in all, it’s okay.
Food was just ok. Nothing bad, but the seasoning, flavor and portions just didn’t do it for me. Service was pretty good but overall not worth paying a hipster premium.
We had an 8:30 reservation and we’re not seated until 9:15. And we’re not the only one’s!
Highly recommended! You will never be disappointed at the Factory Kitchen.
Each course was fabulous! Both the appetizer heirloom tomato salad & the main course ravioli were absolutely delicious! Our server was pleasant & efficient. The ambience, just ok. I must say the location left much to be desired from a safety standpoint. But I will return for the food!
Good food but lousy service. Great restaurants can’t rest on their laurels. If wait staff is terrible then replace them.
Had the Mary's chicken. It was dry and terrible tasting. Service was great!
The pasta was AMAZING! Such a cool atmosphere inside.
Nice restaurant with fresh pasta - A little bit loud and expensive for just pasta. Otherwise best cannolis I ate in my life
I’ve heard great things about this restaurant and I thought the food was good not exceptional. The fish was very fishy too
Friendly staff, simple yet cordial ambience, Easy parking with low valet fee
Food wasn't bad, but it was overpriced, Small portions. All drinks were $10-20. Service was bare minimum. We were there to celebrate a wedding anniversary and noted it on our reservation. However they didn't acknowledge it in any way. Not even a mention of it. Can definitely have a much better experience elsewhere for $100 a head.
Hi Luis, Thank you for your message. We are very sorry to have missed an opportunity to elevate your dining experience with us. Though we missed the chance with you, this is very helpful feedback for us to serve our guests better in the future.
Food is amazing. Portions are perfect. Not too big. Great service.
