The Exchange Pub + Kitchen

1. Our server Lauren was great and saved the night with her personality!
2. We were celebrating my birthday and stated that on the open table reservation but the hostess never mentioned it and I assume did not tell our server.
3. Burger was much smaller than in the past. I would love to know how many ounces it was.
4. Blue cheese dressing has a great flavor but runny so when I got my salad I thought there was not much on it so I asked for more. Then I discovered that most of the dressing sunk to the bottom of the salad bowl and there was way too much.
5. I requested the back bar area but we were seated beside a table of about 8 women that talked and laughed very loud the entire time we were there. It was loud enough that as soon as we finished our food we wanted to leave ASAP.
6. AGAIN, our server was GREAT!!

I am a regular fan of the Exchange. It did not disappoint! Table was ready upon arrival. Service was great. Food was amazing!

Pretty Good. Kind of pricy. Not enough Coleslaw with the fish & chips. I didn't like my beer but my fault. Stout. To much coffee taste in it.

The food was incredible - very flaky salmon and delicious flavors to accompany. Service was good and we appreciated the restrictions put in place for safety.

Loved the atmosphere

My husband & I love the Exchange and have dined here many times. This was not our best visit here but was still good. We were seated in the New Tavern area (not the restaurant side that we made a reservation for). The lights were very bright and we were the only table at the time. By the time we left the tables we're starting to fill so it started to feel more lively.
Our server Emma was very attentive & kind.
Our food was flavorful but not warm.
We will dine here again, still one of our favorite places in New Albany.

The food was just ok for the amount we spent. We were seated next to the door so it was quite cold. Not for sure we will come back.

Very pleasant surprise. Great atmosphere. Nice area to walk around nearby to explore old city.

I love The Exchange and have gone here fairly regularly since starting to date my now fiancée a few years ago. When I was there for lunch, my appetizer was brought out to the wrong table and then the waiter/bartender attempted to bring it to my table after they had it on their table. Even in the best of times this is unacceptable... why would I want a dish brought to me after it had been placed on another diner's table? After he attempted to place it on my table I asked if he was really going to give it to me after it had been on another table and h then responded "of course not"... No manager ever came by for me to speak to regarding this and I was disappointed in the response (or lack of) - bottom line is the food is wonderful and I usually have a good time when I got here, but this turned my stomach.

10/10, will visit again. The Nashville hot chicken looked amazing (that's what I am ordering next time). Pretzel bread app was really good too.

DJ was our server; she was very nice and helpful when it came to the menu. The pimento Mac and cheese was amazing

Great atmosphere and cocktails. Nice, laid back place to catch up with friends. Food was 50/50—I and another friend enjoyed our meal, the others in our party, not so much. I would definitely recommend.

Great atmosphere. We started with Goat Cheese Fritters, always a winner. Steak was prepared correctly and service was prompt. Special thanks to staff for lighting the firepit. Coffee and dessert to finish.

Disappointed that the steak was tough (so was my chop). It was my son’s first “steak experience” so I hated that it was barely edible. Had my husband tried a bite earlier on, it would have gone back. Oh well.

Food, drinks, and atmosphere were on point! The Salmon dish was amaizing!

Creme Brulee needs work.

We have been twice now to Exchange Pub. Service is wonderful. Ambiance is nice. They have outdoor seating but we opted for inside. Food was really good. We will return.

Birthday for son. Wedge salads arrived at the same time as our food. They changed the iceberg lettuce in the wedge salad to romaine lettuce. Not a true wedge salad. The cauliflower carrot soup looked and tasted like baby food. Very disappointed.

Great place to eat. My wife has a burger which she said was fantastic. I got the wedge salad and fish and chips. Everything was perfect.

Consistently great food for the $. Friendly, mature, no-nonsense servers. Our go to New Albany restaurant.

Normally, we absolutely love The Exchange, however, there were three negative strikes on this visit. I love the wedge salad and order it on most visits. This time, they seemed to have swapped out the normal bacon bits with the type of bacon you would get on a jar...like Bacos. It was crunchy and fake tasting. Next, my entree arrived and while the fish was hot, the chips were, at best, room temperature and tasted as if they had been sitting for quite some time. Before we left, I made a visit to the women’s restroom. I’ve never seen the restroom this dirty! There was a ring inside the toilet bowl indicating it had not been cleaned in quite some time. The sink area was dirty and there were no paper towels. Honestly, these three things made me wonder if it was under new management as all three were new bad experiences. Our waitress was nice and offered to bring us a dessert when we mentioned the negative experience. We declined. The price point is too expensive to have a sub par restaurant.

My water was never refreshed and that’s the only drink I had. Other than that, it was an “okay” experience at the Exchange. Food was tasty.

In an effort to get our food prepared properly, the kitchen head, by her request, sent my order back several times which created a long delay. Food was superb when we were served, and compensation given for our time. I can't wait to go back; food wonderful, service as good as it gets in spite of problem.

This was our “go to restaurant because of their Covid procedures but now Indiana has relaxed their standards and we were packed into the Tavern side.We brought good friends in their ‘80s and realized too late we were not social distancing.Sure hope we got lucky .

Excellent location. Good food. Friendly staff. Very cool old building. Lot's of seating. Lots of drink choices.
