Five uniquely adorned rooms feature James Beard-nominated Chef Brian Huston's signature preparations of locally sourced vegetables, a beautiful selection of pastas and proteins, organic and biodynamic wines, and house cocktails. Make sure to check out our Listening Room -with a state-of-the-art sound system inspired by the fast-growing trend of listening cafes originating in Japan. Nightly playlists will be published daily on DMK's social media and website.

We went to the restaurant prior to an event at the Auditorium theater. We explained to the staff that we had theatre tickets and needed to leave in a timely fashion. We ordered a salad and a cheeseburger. We ended up getting our cocktails and not much else. Service was lacking and we never got our main course. Very disappointed

The food is adequate, not a big menu but our salads with chicken were tasty. The chicken sandwich however was tough and dry. The ambience is good for conversation at lunch time. The service was very disappointing. first the margaritas (ordered with salt) come with a tear drop of salt down the side of the glass, while artistic it is not functional, they re made them without hesitation. The iced tea tasted like a blend of coffee and tea and it took 3 requests to get sweetener and never any lemon. Finally we order coffee (1 decaf and 1 regular) the waitress brings 2 regular and says they don’t have decaf (I think they just didn’t want to make a fresh pot as it was mid afternoon and there were few people in the restaurant. Again had to request cream.

I was rushed, so didn't enjoy as fully as I might have. Would have liked sitting in the atrium area much more as a) prettier, and b) music level *much too loud* in first room (and I wasn't even close to the bar/speakers). Soup was too salty and salad was too peppery (wish I'd been asked, before being served with tons of pepper already on it!). The salmon was delicious. Service was so-so. At one point my server asked if I'd received my soup yet!! Why didn't he know?? But later, he and another waitstaff person were attentive to my needs.

I believe that it is entirely likely that I got food poisioning from my meal It was the Amish chicken. Perhaps the mushrooms served with it. The chicken is the only item that my wife did not sample She did not get sick. That one outcome overshadows anything I might possibly comment on.

Spending $16 for a salad that consisted of chopped romaine, a small amount of crumbled blue cheese, and some candied pecans is unacceptable. I don't remember there even being a dressing. I'm glad I added steak, but the meal was not worth $32.

Since we’re Chicago Symphony subscribers for the afternoon series, we were never able to enjoy a meal at the Exchange because it was only serving dinner. Since we realized the Exchange was open for lunch, we decided to try it, and really enjoyed it. The ambience is lovely and the food was good. We will be back!

Wanted to sit at an open table for 2 in the main room, but told we could not. We sat in the quiet room, and it was way too noisy. Tables are so large we waved to each other, not very romantic. Our food took a very long time to show up. It was good food -- great chicken, nice brussle sprouts with grapefruit (a nice touch). The rigatoni was good but can call it bolognese without some hint of tomato sauce? It's a beautiful room close to Orchestra Hall, and we need a great restaurant in this location. But you need to make it more friendly for couples -- wake up! This is not a good place for a date.

I was dining alone and tucked into a lovely table in a not-very-visible part of the front bar. I was early for a 6:15 reservation. I waited 20+ minutes for my server and had to inquire at the host stand. Server arrived a few minutes later and said he didn’t know I was his table. Took about 15 minutes to get my first drink and then I was able to order. I’d informed him that I had a concert to attend next door at 8 pm at that time. I’d been there 45 minutes at this point. I did the restaurant week menu. My scallops took a while and the dish was cold, and though the menu specified “seared,” they were not, and both scallops were very sandy. I had to remind the server to bring the wine pairing. Second dish, the pork tenderloin, was also cold. Another reminder for the wine pairing. I picked at the dish and my friend arrived to go to the concert with me. I had to ask twice for my dessert, and I’d already paid, hoping to arrive on time for the concert. It was a few minutes after 8 when the dessert arrived, and I was unable to have more than a sip of the wine pairing. I did not send any of the cold food back because I simply didn’t have time. I see this morning that I was charged $217.91, and I don’t know if that includes the 25% tip I added for the server. That total is for a pre-dinner cocktail, the $59 restaurant week menu plus the wine pairing, and two additional glasses of wine for my friend. Seems like a lot, and I regret not looking at the bill. I’m disappointed to say the least, as this was my first time here, and the restaurant has been highly recommended to me by foodie friends. I believe the server was stretched too thin, which is why I was patient with him the entire meal, despite all of the issues, and why I tipped him well. I don’t understand why both dishes were so cold, nor why they took so long. Fortunately, this wasn’t a CSO concert, as I would have missed it because they don’t let you in once it’s started.
