With special attention paid to the rich history and local relevance, Establishment commissioned one of the country's top new artists Janssen Robinson to bring 1845 Atlanta back to life through his oil on canvas paintings that adorn our 175 year old walls.
Our patio is perfectly poised for afternoon spring drinks, sumptuous appetizers, business, romance, catching up and winding down. If you haven't experienced it, the time for appointment libations and a slice of Georgia history is right now.
Really poor service. Waiter was inattentive, dirty plates left for the entire meal. No follow up. Disappointing. Long wait wait to get entree.
I was there for Valentine’s Day. Our waitress was amazing and super friendly. The food was good, but the drink was the best part. I had the lucky clover!
Some of the confederate decor was offensive and not considerate to all potential guests. I booked a table of 8 friends before the show and was embarrassed when my friends felt uncomfortable by some of the decor. Midtown is an inclusive place and the decor didn’t reflect that sentiment.
The service and the food was terrific but the decor will cause me not to return.
Great date night.
Great experience, great after work drink specials!
Amazing drinks and food. Loved the indoor/outdoor enviornment as well as the live band. Great place for date night and late night drink.
The host was extremely accommodating. Drinks were yummy. Food was Delish
Always good food and service. I took a visiting foodie friend. He was very impressed as well.
The food here is amazing! Always a great experience!
Had a great time getting an early dinner here before a show at the Alliance Theater. Very convenient, open space. Also across the street from the SCAD theater which I like. Indoor and outdoor seating. They had live music, but not obnoxiously loud... sort of the perfect ambiance. Highly recommend this place for getting to know each other meet ups.
The live music was loud for a place that size but everything else was great.
We reserved a table at The Establishment before a concert at Symphony Hall just across the street. We arrived on time, and our waitress stopped by our table within 2 minutes of our being seated. We told her we were in a hurry, since we had a show to catch. (We actually had 1.5 hours, but I refuse to be late for a concert!). She immediately took our order, noting that she'd make sure we were served quickly. Our appetizer did come out pretty quickly, but that was the end of the quick service. It was 50 minutes in before our entrees arrived (a burger and short ribs), and that was only after I finally caught the waitress's attention and asked for her to please check on our food. My drink from the bar also took about 20 minutes after I ordered it. I had a soft drink with my meal that I had to ask several times before finally getting a refill. The manager did apologize for the slow service and offered a free dessert. This was a kind gesture, but we had to rush through eating that as well to be on time for our concert. The food really was quite good... I'll give them that. I wish I just didn't have to scarf it all down. The decorations, etc., are really nice, but all the hard wood surfaces make for a very loud restaurant. It has the look of a romantic restaurant, but it's anything but... with all the loud noise. They added TVs throughout, so you have to put up with people yelling at the game on TV. Despite the good food, it was an overall bad experience... one that I don't care to repeat.
A wonderful place for a girlfriends night out. We had a nice table; great atmosphere. My Old Fashioned was perfect! The food was wonderful. All of us had a great time.
The food was really good! However the waiter was not. The drinks were just ok.
An attempt was made to order a medium rare burger with lettuce tomato onion and pickles...they didn't have any tomato and wouldn't cook it medium rare, only medium well.
They have nearly a page of beer on the menu...tried to order a simple pilsner, no dice, so I took the waitress suggestion on the closest thing they had...it was so "fruity" I had to send it back.
Slow service. Took over 1 1/2 hours for dinner. Ordered dessert and told the waitress we were then in a hurry because we had concert tickets at 8:00. She finally did deliver dessert and the check but didn't return to pick the check up...took it to the bar where I was told they couldn't accept payment and had to find the waitress. She finally came rushing over with a pen that didn't work!
We ran to our concert (and made it) but will never return to that restaurant!!!
One of my favorite spots. Gret food, great drinks and even better atmosphere. I will always recommend this place to people!
Loved it! Will definitely return, the craft cocktails were delicious. Only sad part they only have two types of Vodka neither of which was Kettle One or Chopin.
I didn’t get the table I reserved and the servers were rude
Pretty good overall... but, LOUD.
Felt more like a bar, so I wasn’t sure about the food -but I was pleasantly surprised. It took a little while for waitress to first come to table (was there at end of happy hour) but she was apologetic and not stressed and sweet. The food was outstanding! Had pork belly and deviled eggs for appetizer-both were great. Hanger Steak and Risotto-both dishes were excellent. Not a huge menu, but what they do, they do well-full bar
The food and drinks were wonderful. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. We often had to look for the wait staff. She also inadvertently charged by friend's credit card for a bottle or wine rather than a glass.
Service was very slow. Took over an hour to get our food. Appetizers came out fast. AlsoSlow to get refills on our drinks.
Great atmosphere! Food was good but not many options ! Drinks are very expensive though !! We got 6 drinks , a dessert and appetizer and our bill was 100 bucks !!
Great food and drinks in a casual but comfortable setting. Awesome menu!
Birthday and team lunch
nice place but MUCH TOO NOISY! Cant really have a proper conversation with friends/partner. Pity.
The menu has been completely changed by the new chef ... and not in a good way. Bring back some of the good apps!
Finding the restaurant was very difficult. The address listed is for a different restaurant. After getting a table at the wrong restaurant, the waiter noticed a tag note that had the name of the restaurant. He then helped us get to the right restaurant around the corner at a different address.
The menu is too limited!!! The crafted cocktails are GREAT and so are the bartenders!! I enjoy loud music, yet 2 people have to almost yell at one another to have a conversation... I do not recommend especially if it would be with a new date.
I made reservation that the matre'de acknowledged seeing, then asked us how many people were at our table anyway. There was only 1 other table and a couple at the bar, but the food prep took a long time. Server seemed very new / not particularly attentive.
This used to be our favorite restaurant. They got a new chef and the last time we were there a few months ago, the menu had changed and we weren’t pleased, but there were still some of our favorites (Mac and cheese!) Fast forward to this time around, the menu has gotten worse- more expensive, less options, and poor choices to boot. Sad to have to let our favorite place go. We used to recommend it to anyone asking for a place to go.
My cousin chose the Establishment to celebrate her birthday and unfortunately it left much to be desired.
Pros: very nice look, probably a nice bar experience, music
Cons: the staff was more focused on cleaning up so much so they barely paid us any attention, they forgot our appetizer, our water glasses sat empty - we had to ask another waitress for assistance, my husband had to get up from the table to ask the waitress for basic condiments, they have no steak sauce or any other steak condiments- which wouldn’t have been a big deal if it was flavored properly
Food: The shrimp and grits- not great, steak was fatty and poorly flavored,
Key takeaways: don’t go late, don’t order food, sit near the bar so they can’t ignore you
Our second trip there, and we took friends that had never been. Our first experience was great. Our server this visit made the mistake of writing down the wrong order for one of our friends, which we thought was communicated perfectly by our friend. 3 of us got our food pretty quick but his order took way too much time - then when it came, it was the wrong order. The waitress became somewhat argumentative that he had ordered what they brought to the table, when all of us heard clearly what he ordered. Then it took a very long time to get his correct order out. It was an uncomfortable experience, primarily due to the initial attitude of the waitress, our food got cold trying to be polite; and we were on the way to a show so time made it worse. Mistakes happen, but being humble and apologetic can go a long way in fixing things. The waitress did comp the table 2 drinks, so that helped., but we felt bad recommending this place to our friends.
Alex is the best bartender!
It’s hard to recommend this place when the menu/food changes so frequently. I originally loved this place however for the past 2-3 months it’s been hard to tolerate all the changes. Looks like I will have to stay away until they get it together.
Food just wasn't good. The server was very nice but seemed unsure about what she was doing. Weird restaurant overall.
Food and service were both great, however there was a band playing and the volume on the speakers was up so loud that we had to yell to communicate with friends across from us. I asked the server if the volume could be turned down a bit but I don’t think she bothered to do anything about it. I wouldn’t suggest going here if you actually want to talk to people, however the food and ambiance (minus the noise) are good.
We had a great meal with friends!! Steak and burgers were very tasty can’t go wrong with the home made chips. Mike was our server and made sure our drinks were never empty. We will visit again. Enjoyed the music also. Only complaint was the fact that it was so dark while we ate.
We were happy to get a 12:30 PM lunch reservation for 5 people on a Friday and to be immediately seated. The décor is nice. The first mistake we made was choosing to sit outside - the noise from the construction & inefficient fans for the heat made it a poor choice (we were given the option to sit inside - so this is not the restaurant's fault). However, the service for the rest of the meal was the main problem. We were finally served room temp water - for which we had to request ice and straws. The food finally came after we had been there 30 minutes and tasted great - but we literally had to track down someone at the restaurant to refill our drinks and get more ice. When we saw our waiter, we tried to make a point of remembering to tell him everything we needed because we knew it would be at least 15 minutes before we saw him again. If the restaurant had been crowded, this lack of attention would be a little more understandable, but it wasn't. Apparently others have learned that the service here is awful. You would think that if you knew you couldn't control the construction noise or the heat of summer in Georgia, then you would try to make up for it by providing the best service possible. There are tons of places to eat in midtown. Why would I ever want to go back here again? The food wasn't special and was limited - although everyone agreed it did taste good. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone.
