The Epicurean is an a la carte restaurant with a casual upper casual dining experience. From al full menu and an extensive wine list we are here to please and tantalize your taste buds!
Loved it here. Food was fantastic and so was the service. We will definately be returning.
After spending hours trying to research and decide on a NOTL restaurant for a special occasion, a friend recommended The Epicurean. We were looking for mid-range pricing, pleasant environment, great food and the ability to make a reservation. The Epicurean certainly met our expectations with great service and delicious food. We will plan to go to The Epicurean in the future.
The service was great. Would yave been 5 stara for food if they warmed the apple cobbler before serving.
This was our first time dining here and it definitely won’t be our Last. The food and the service were phenomenal. We absolutely loved the atmosphere as well and you cannot beat the location! Highly recommend the epicurean you will not be disappointed!
Good food good menu prompt service. Open concept a bit noisy but ok. Pleasant decor. More instruction about parking in the back would be helpful. Overall lovely experience.
Food was good not great. Not hot Steaks okay. Lamb no flavor. Server was awesome!!!
Pleasantly pleased after reading some not-so-happy reviews by patrons. Crab cakes saltier than desired but wouldn't stop us from returning. Service was quick and attentive, prices in line with tourist area, busy but not loud. Would definitely return.
A bit noisy, incredibly solicitous service. A minor error in food delivery quickly fixed. Tasty, tasty, tasty.
Delightful restaurant with fresh delicious food choices. Excellent service - very polite.
An odd experience or maybe Murphy's law! I feel they did not want to know that i reserved through open table. I gave my name to our server and hostess but to date have not had my points added to my account. Next we ordered a glass of wine from their wine list. It was delicious. I asked to see the bottle to take a picture and a complete different wine was brought to the table. They changed the wine and said they didn't print new menus. That's okay it's off season but would have thought the server would have told it's before bringing to the table. Next our companion ordered a chicken wrap and there was no chicken. They did make good by giving another sandwich to take home and were very apologetic. Not the best experience but certainly need to get their act together.
Six of us had lunch at the Epicurean January 16. Our waiter (Jordan) greeted us with a big smile and showed us to our seats. Looking around we found it very clean. We all ordered something different from steak wraps to fish and chips, onion soup caprese salad (which I found a little overpriced ,if your going to charge that much please have some quality buffalo mozzarella )desserts were excellent. All of us agreed we'd come back and that the food prep was very good. Thanks again Jordan.
Great location and although we were there in the off-season, they stayed open late to accommodate us and we had a great time. An excellent option for a great meal in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Could not rate this restaurant. Made 11am reservations. Got there around 10:45am. Place locked up tighter than a drum. Walked around town for 15 minutes. Came back at 11am. Still locked up. Ate elsewhere-will not come back. Sadly the reviews looked
great. We were looking forward to eating here. We came back after eating elsewhere and noticed they were open. Not sure what the issue was
Great lunch before heading to the theatre, right across the street so very convenient.
Great food and exceptional service as usual.
Hostess was aware of our reservation and special seating requirements and immediately gave us a choice between two options she though best for us.
Our waitress was very attentive, especially with our special needs, and was very pleasant and accommodating.
The food was good and the portions quite large.
It was the perfect choice for our needs.
Our server, Jordan was really nice, entertaining and was attentive. Even if the food was so-so, he made the experience a little better.
Overall good food and service. Charging $2 for a glass of hot water NOT GOOD!
We made reservations for November 10th and drove from Toronto. When we arrived the restaurant was closed with a note on the door. Super unprofessional. Will never come back and wouldn’t recommend.
We come here every year for lunch when we come toNiagara-on-the Lake for theatre. It is reliabily good and efficient. Highly recommended.
Basic salads were gluten-free but but not very imaginative, and even after my friend mentioned her sensitivity it cane with a side of bread. Lol
My mushroom soup was very heavy with cream - good if you like that sort of thing. Crab cakes and mango salsa were lovely. Wine seemed expensive - as did all drinks. We had water.
But lunch for one ranged from $15-30 tip included and service was fast and friendly.
I’ll go again! :-)
First Time going here and it was amazing. Everyone in our party raved over the food, we were sat immediately our server was wonderful and friendly. We will be back for another visit
We enjoyed our meal here. Unfortunately, our waiter had some issue that prevented his service from being up to the standard of the restaurant and meal. We waited endlessly for him to first appear. We asked for a dietary substitution on one plate, which he input on both plates. He prepared the bill wrong, with more wine than we had ordered. So, he was having a bad day. We all do on occasion. We still enjoyed the food and restaurant very much, and bet that on another day, his service would have been impeccable.
Menu has a nice selection and everything we ordered was fantastic!
A wonderful lunch location after seeing a play directly across the street at the Royal George Theatre. The service - consistently excellent. Nice interior ambiance, with the availability of sitting under a lovely canopy of tall trees in the outdoor courtyard. An extensive menu selection. My spouse thoroughly enjoyed the Epi Burger. I was in awe with the most delicious Mediterranean Flat Bread. Very highly recommend this restaurant!
The service was mixed. We split the appetizer and entree, but the appetizer was brought so that we had to split it. We noted this to the manager and we were told this was common practice there. We asked the waitress to have the kitchen divide the entree and they did. The crabcake appetizer was presented well, ] and was flavorful flavorful, but had little crab and mostly filler. The shredded lamb papperadelle was also flavorful, but also was light on the lamb. The local pinot noir was excellent.
We had been coming for years for lunch before the restaurant was renovated and enlarged. Our experience had been uniformly excellent. We were expecting the same level after the renovation, but did not find it so.
What a delightful lunch. Varied menu choices, very reasonably prices and wonderful service. Looking forward to dining there again.
Both dishes were not good, heavy on sauce and over cooked.
Daniel the server provided excellent service without being overbearing. Food was served promptly, delicious and reasonable sized portions. We'll definitely return when visited N-O-T-L
Great food and service
Great experience all around. Food and service were fantastic - as was the ambiance.
Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and efficient. Great location - right across from Royal George Theatre. Free and convenient parking behind restaurant.
Description of entree on menu did not correspond to the item served. Wait staff very confused. Have been to this restaurant many times in the past but it has changed hands . Not sure changes made by the new owners will be successful. Overall a disappointing visit. May not be back.
Fish and chicken were over cooked. Burger was okay and fries were underdone. This used to be a favourite destination but we aren’t likely to return.
Server was absolutely the best . Charming, pleasant, funny.woujd cone back just for her even if the food was bad, which it wasn't.
Good food but the staff was rude in person and on the phone.
Both the food and the service were excellent. And the new décor is very nice.
Epicurean is dependable and reasonably priced with a decent variety of pleasing dishes. In warm weather its fine patio is a treat. I appreciate Epicurean's quiet atmosphere, a rarity in dining these days.
If you are seeing a play in area you can't beat location food was good service friendly a vegan/vegetarian can eat here with a carnivore
