I love the Empire! The food is fantastic! The atmosphere, complete with piano player is perfect! The staff is knowledgable and so friendly! It is unique and special! One of our favorite places!

We were a little concerned at first. The spinach and artichoke dip was horrible, and the salad that came before dinner had goat cheese on it but was not told nor did I recall seeing it on the menu. I've never seen goat cheese on a dinner salad before and was a little put off as I HATE goat cheese. The server who took our payment said I should have requested it not be on the salad. I had no idea, that's what the dinner salad came with. Anyway, the filets were fantastic and the young man who served us was charming and funny. Good experience after all and would recommend. However, if you hate goat cheese, you might want to skip the salads. Yuck!

We were celebrating my Aunt’s 94th Birthday and we could not have asked for a more accommodating staff - they were EXCELLENT! The food was fantastic and the toasting bubbly was an added touch for all of us to remember!!

The food was outstanding. 5-cheese Penne is excellent. Appetizers of crab cakes were delightful. Tasted like I was on the East Coast and having them fresh made. Cheesecake was excellent (more Chicago style than New York) with a perfect crust. Our server was on top of everything, very attentive. The piano player in the background provided a wonderful ambience. Expect to spend about $40-$50 a person as this is a very nice, up-scale choice to have a meal. It is well worth the treat.

Honestly this was a very disappointing experience all around—the waitress repeatedly made mistakes or just ignored our table (the tables around us seemingly had better service from her, or at least received more attention). Several dishes did not come out until we had to ask about them and/or cancel one. I was so excited when I saw that the restaurant had reopened but now I think they should have stayed closed longer to train staff and fix kitchen issues.

The staff was so accommodating to our group that went from 4 to 6 to 7. Cocktails were all delicious, and the wide variety of menu items was appreciated. I had the rice bowl with sirloin and pineapple, and it was fresh and delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening with my college friends.

They did not have enough of the nightly special meal for our table so two of us had to order something off the menu. The salad choices aren't great. The food portions are a good size and we took some home. The drinks were weak, very little alcohol in them. Ambience is great and the piano player was amazing! We were there for a birthday and they brought out a free dessert and sung happy birthday which was very nice!

Returning to Tiffin after a long absence, it was a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant option other than pizza and bar food. That being said, our reservation was 8pm and we were probably the last customer. We were immediately seated and drinks orders taken. Being sensitive to the hour, we opted for a salad and burger. The bread service was quick and tasty with olive oil mix rather than butter/margarine. Always welcome. Both salads were very nice (grilled Caesar and beet root). The burgers arrived efficiently and were nicely prepared. The real surprise was the accompanying fries. I would come back again just for another order of these. I am guessing they were triple-cooked but the wait person didn't know. Whatever the process, the "chef" nailed it. I had seen other negative reviews, so was somewhat hesitant to try the Empire, but I'm glad we did. Hopefully we can return in the future for a more challenging entree.

Salads were impressive; perfect greens, perfectly dressed. Great arancini with a delicious Sicilian-style red sauce. Needed bread for scarpetta! Entrée serving sizes were small, e.g., 3 scallops, a tiny fraction of duck breast (served way over rare). Desserts are a standout. The French Nougatine was masterful. Excellent mixed drinks; beer list had no local Tiffin labels; the wine list is small, inexpensive, and missing bottles. Needs help from a consultant. Pairing an expensive cut of beef with a bottle of cheap Cab should not be the only choice. Please stock Pellegrino, Perrier, or other bottled carbonated water for nondrinkers and those who want a step up from tap water. Really enjoyed our meals; will definitely be back.
