Been to Empire many times. NEVER disappointed. This night was no exception. Food was outstanding (special: shrimp & langostino lobster over risotto in a rich cream sauce)! My only criticism of the restaurant is the noise level. It's excessive when trying to carry on a normal conversation. While I appreciate the "energy"...too much is a distraction. A professional sound engineering study could help identify acoustic treatment options that could be used without damaging the decor and ambiance of the space.
Wonderful service, delicious meal and all round superb dining experience. Missed the piano however!!
A bit discouraged with our server. Service was slow and we felt forgotten for long periods. Drinks were left empty and the place wasn't even busy. Overall the good part was the food. Hopefully our next experience is better as we have many friends and family we'd like to take here.
It was our 25th wedding anniversary and the meal and environment was perfect for our celebration. My compliments to the chef! Many thanks.
We had heard many good things about “The Empire at 138” and they were absolutely true! All of the food that we ordered was delicious, beautiful presented on the plates, and the service was attentive.
Please start taking American Express!!!!
Went to dinner with 2 other couples. We were seated promptly. Service was slow, drinks were good. My husband ordered the special, which we were told was prime rib. He ordered it medium rare. When the waiter brought it he told us it was the sirloin. When I questioned it he just looked at me and walked away. They steak was well done and served with 3 large shrimp. Meal was over priced. 2 others ordered steaks medium rare and were brought well done steaks. I had the salmon, it was very good. Overall, we were really disappointed with our experience which is unfortunate because we were really looking forward to dining there. We will probably not return.
Very enjoyable dining experience. The food was excellent and the menu, though small, had enough variety for everyone. The drink menu was equally impressive as was the friendly, courteous, and knowledgable staff. My ownly complaint would be the acoustics of the building as it was very loud with a full restaurant of people. The waitress said that it had never been so loud so its possible that it was a rowdy crowd on the night I attended. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of my entire experience and will definetly visit again.
Another great experience at Empire 138. Our service was good, and we really enjoyed both some favorites as well as some new dishes.
The service level was great, and the quality of the food continues to be as good as anything you will find in northern Ohio.
The Empire was amazing! Nothing short of what everyone has been talking about. What a gem in Tiffin, Ohio! Would have thought this was a 5 Star New York restaurant! Everyone was wonderful, we will be back for sure!
This was one of the best overall dining experiences I've had. Excellent service, pleasant atmosphere, attentive host, and the food...
We enjoyed the arancini, crab cakes and C,C and Jam plate appetizers. The arancini was properly seasoned and crisp, the crab cakes were moist and delicious, and the CC and Jam plate was a wonderful variety of salty, spicy meats and hard and soft cheeses, served with toasts and crackers..
Two members of our party of four ordered the salmon. One (a picky eater) practically inhaled it, the other proclaimed it "the best salmon" she has ever had (and this woman knows her salmon!).. The third member of our party had the Black and Tan Rice and Vegetable Saute. She loved it...a little spice, hearty, full of crisp, fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked grains. I had the soft shelled crab special, and I was lucky to get it. I'm a seafood snob. This dish was superb. So many folks take soft shell crabs, deep fry them and call it a day. These were beautifully prepared in a delicious, lemony sauce.
Dessert? Not this time...The portions were large enough.
Service - couldn't have been better. Peyton was attentive, precise and thorough, Mike is a gem, and made us feel at home. The atmosphere and ambiance were warm, friendly and comfortable.
First time visit to the Empire at 138. we were seated right away and greeted by our waiter right away. We were told the Chef's specials for the night. Had cocktails and wine with our meals.
We had the strip steak and the veal special. Strip was prepared exactly as ordered and delicious.
Veal was a little overcooked, but still very tasty. We will be back here for sure.
Neat place. Piano was a nice touch. Noise level was excessive in my opinion.
Wonderful ambiance and delicious food!! Would definitely go again.
Always enjoyed eating at this restaurant when in town, never a disappointment.
All four of us enjoyed our meal there... We are very picky about food, service, and surroundings, and it was definitely worth the hour and a half ride! We would go back!
I've been to the Empire several times now and am never disappointed! I've tried many different meals and have loved them all. They are unique and just the right amount. What I love the most is the atmosphere- exposed brick, piano playing- cozy, elegant and classy!!
The manager was great and clearly loves his job. Didn’t get our diner wine until after the food arrived. Everyone was so nice but I think our waitress was new and a little anxious. Overall, We had a lovely Anniversary dinner experience.
Fantastic dinner. A true dining experience you don't want to miss. For all Occasions. The dishes created our out of this world. Mike and all of the employees meet all of you needs. If you have not eaten at this restaurant make a reservation today.......
Constructive feedback: check pricing on Irish coffee ~$20 for two is a bit pricy, especially when one of the ingredients is coffee.
Always outstanding! Grilled cheese with truffle oil was amazing!
What a wonderful restaurant! The burger is to die for!
Service was good.
Salads were great
All the meals were great.
The baked brie was not the same as I had there before. Was not as good as the bake brie that is pastry wrapped.
The luncheon, service, and atmosphere was every expectation that I was looking for in my business lunch. Thank-you and I look forward to future dining experiences. Tim Lynch
We had our family Easter dinner here, and had an AMAZING meal!! We would highly recommend this place, for any type of occasion!!
nice restaurant great waitress and the food was very good. Liked he atmosphere and the piano music with dinner. Will go go back again. Was a nice dinner date with my husband.
My favorite spot. Everyone is always friendly and treats us very well. Never had anything that was not delicious.
This was our third time here from out of town. Excellent food and excellent value. The charcuterie is the best! The staff was professional and attentive.
Mommy Daughter date
outstanding dining, service, food, great place to eat...
Everything was great!! Cedi our waiter did a great job and was very friendly! I would recommend the Empire to anyone.
amazing, the best restraunt in town. prices are very reasonable. they have steak to hamburgers.
We love this restraunt! The staff are all very friendly and service is wonderful! The food is always delicious and the live piano music makes for a romantic evening.
Fantastic as always. We get so few opportunities to go out to eat as a babysitter is difficult to come by. When we do go eat, however, Empire is always an option as it never lets us down. Food and service are over the top. I'd like a bigger wine selection (glass) but what they have is still good and priced right. Plus it's right across from the hottest nightcap spot in Tiffin so it's a nobrainer.
Great meal again!! Always a pleasure! We will definitely be returning!
Outstanding dining, incredible atmosphere, great specials. This little gem of a place is well worth a visit....Everyone can afford to go h
Great evening meal with seven out-of-town guests. They were all impressed with the quality of food and excellent service. The lovely piano music was an extra added bonus!
Tapas were ok. Dinner vegetables were undercooked for both myself and my girlfriend. She ordered salmon and had one bite and did not care for. Manager came over and was condescending and I said she does not like it. She eats salmon at restaurants and at home but did not like theirs. Manager apologized but still charged us. I said if you gonna charge me for this than pack it to go so I can see if my dogs would eat it. I would not recommend this restaurant.
