A lovely country pub, located in the centre of the South Downs National. Here you will find beautifully conditioned cask ales, which rotate weekly to provide lots of choice; along with Guinness, cider and lager. In winter cozy up to a warm fire and sample some of local fare.

Our food is prepared to order using local ingredients from the neighbouring farms and fish from the West Country which is delivered fresh. We even have our own game keeper! Our menu changes daily for both lunch and dinner. If you don"t see anything on the menu, worry not! The chef will come out to find out exactly what you like and make a bespoke meal just for you! We specialise in dishes for vegetarians & vegans.

    We had an excellent evening, with beautiful food, in a pleasant atmosphere in this delightful rural inn. The service was good without being intrusive and we were able to talk and eat with good friends for the whole evening.

    One meal was not as described, and was served lukewarm instead of hot. Nothing was done about this after pointing it out to the waitress. It was also mentioned at the time of paying the bill. Again nothing was done. We were charged (and paid for) a meal that could not be eaten. Prices were high compared with similar establishments in the area.

    A lovely pub with great food and atmosphere. The couple who run the place are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is evidence of this. The Sunday roast will knock your socks off and the puddings are delicious (particularly the homemade ice-cream!).

    A lovely country respite of authentic English fare. Well worth the beautiful drive through the rolling hills and canopy trees for a delicious dinner with wine and drinks. I look forward to another trip and visit.

    My daughter and I went for Sunday roast. It was good and we would go again even though the meat (beef) was a bit fatty. May I suggest they give you each an extra potato - we got 3 smallish ones each. The sweets are fantastic especially the crumble - best crumble and custard for miles!!!!
