   Fantastic food, great quality. 2 of us had the lamb curry. 2 had the seabass, 1 chicken risotto and 1 vegan Raman.

   Great steak night (Thu night). 2x ribeyes for less than £50. Service was top notch - meal not rushed at all, which meant we could all have a good catchup. Food quality was excellent - "best mash ever". Steaks were perfectly cooked. All four of us ate with 2 starters, 4 mains, 1 desert and plenty of drinks (oops!) for £180 - not bad at all.

   Very friendly waitress nice surroundings. Chair nit ultra comfy seat bit soft and worn. Good choice on menu.South African sauvignon blanc very tasty. Yummy ciabatta and olive oil. Average Calamari kimchi and hilli jam nice. Vegetable tempura bit underwhelmed by as only onion peppers and one bit of cauliflower. Beetroot dip was OK. Husbands tin eye steak was great and salad just what he likes. Cost reasonable and sevice time acceptable.

    The Elm Tree is one of only two or three eating venues around Wisbech that are decent enough to celebrate a family event or a place to take business visitors. The food was excellently presented and was very enjoyable. It is quite pricey but the quality justifies this, and which also perhaps prevents it becoming a run-of-the-mill pubgrub outlet. The service is fine - a little forgetful on drinks orders, but otherwise quite attentive. I would have no hesitation in visiting again. However - and I have witnessed this before here - there is far too much loud swearing in the bar area from (presumably) local 'lads', which can easily be overheard by diners in the upper restaurant tables to the side of the bar. This has to be stopped if the Elm Tree wishes to be considered a professional operation.
