It may be a small and quaint establishment but the food and service was good. The noise wasn’t troublesome as some other places. I was able to hold a conversation with my friend. The ambience was nice and subdue. This is my second visit and the service has not once been disappointing. I will definite come again.
The food was delicious and the music playlist was terrific.
Incredibly poor service for an 8 top. Somehow took an hour for food to come out.
We had a delightful dinner at the Ellington the other night. We each had a delicious turky burger with amazing sweet potatoe fries. What we love about the Ellington is how familyt friendly it is and yet an excellent bar as well. I frequently meet friends her for lunch or dinner.
We are a large group of friends coming and going at different times, so our drinks, appetizers and main meals are a bit of a jumble. The staff are wonderfully accommodating. Some terrific appetizers, good for sharing, like the brussels sprouts (believe it or not) and the mac and cheese. A couple of the entrees are a bit pricey, but good. It can get a little too noisy, but that's to be expected on a Friday night.
Love this place. So good and super accommodating.
Great place
A great Upper West Side bistro! Bar food to be sure, but the BEST kind. The Ellington Burger was delicious and cooked to perfection. Also, some of the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. The truffle Mac and cheese is not to be missed, by the way. We ordered one and split it four ways as an appetizer. Yum! Very attentive and entertaining wait staff (in a good way). And all without the Midtown prices!
Birthday celebration
We were in town for a few days and looking for a casual, low-key place for comfort food on the Upper West Side. This place fit the bill perfectly. We were there on a weeknight, and had a satisfying, relaxed family meal.
Amazing place we walked all the way from 58th Street through the Park we were not disappointed. Fantastic Bloody Mary's and the best burger I had in a very long time.
Such a great place. Friendly staff and good food. Best lamb burger in Manhattan.
What a wonderful place to eat! Food was great and we had a lovely, friendly waitress. Price is a good value. I highly recommend!
Warm and friendly service. Cold beer and good grub.
It was Thanksgiving day so our expectations were not that of a typical night out. There was a holiday Prix fixe but the normal menu was available. The waitress was great and very accommodating of everyone's needs. The special stuffed burger and fries were quite good and everything seemed perfectly cooked but there was a lack of flavoring on the vegetables and salmon. I enjoyed but I don't think I'd return.
The staff was polite and personable. The food was outstanding.
We had a lovely family brunch. Great service and yummy food. As the place filled in the noise went up but it was a cold day so no where for the sound to go.
Good drinks, excellent portions
Nice brunch, food very good, service OK seating was late even with reservation
Place was Ok, we got there exactly when it n opened. I ordered a salad (looked better than it tasted) my daughter ordered a fried chicken sandwich which turned out to be really be very tasty. They don’t have much of a brunch menu.
Our waitress was really friendly and food came out in a timely manner.
I have been there many times. Will absolutely be back and have absolutely recommended to my friends!
Loved the atmosphere and prices. Had an omelette that was tasteless, no flavor. Bread was very good
Highly recommend. Beautiful location. Great evening. Been here many times.
Nice and quiet for a pleasurable business lunch.
The food at Ellington is quite good. I had the cobb salad and it was terrific. We shared the calamari and an order of truffle oil and parmesan french fries...also very good and clearly freshly made, not frozen. However, the service was not good. All of the food came at once, including the appetizers. Shortly after we were served, my daughter unexpectantly joined us for dinner. They were very quick at accommodating her with a chair at our 4 person table, but she never received her order of cobb salad, although we waited well over 35 minutes longer after the rest of us had eaten our food, and despite the fact that we reminded them several times. Finally, we asked for the check, and the 2nd cobb salad had been added to the bill. My husband asked that it be removed, and the manager came over to me (not my husband) and asked if we hadn't ordered 2 cobb salads. When I told him that my daughter never received her order, the salad showed up as a "to go" order for her. Rather than be apologetic, and even offering a comp of the 2nd salad or a reduction on the bill, my husband was presented with a bill with both salads on it. Food is good....management NOT SO MUCH.
Very cute and cozy! Nice wine, food was not the best
Food and service was amazing. We were a party of 7 and our table was ready and our food was delicious.
Delicious food, reasonably priced, good service. Definitely will recommend to friends and family
Nice place for the family to eat especially if you have young children and the staff is very polite. Appetizers are excellent
Food was fine. Had a few different egg choices on the menu. I got the smoked salmon florentine, which was supposed to be with the waffle potato, but they served me it with english muffins and a cold serving of breakfast potatoes. I didn't realize until later that they served me the wrong thing. The eggs and spinach with the smoked salmon were tasty. The restaurant wasn't too loud, which made it easy to have a nice conversation. Wouldn't rush back. A decent meal at a fairly decent price!
This was great
We enjoyed a really nice brunch thinking about the Duke!
And the Bloody Mary was super!!!
Great brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Had the avocado, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes with poached egg. Delicious!!!
Highly recommend this place after a visit to St John the Divine.
It is a nice family restaurant. Very cozy and convenient. The staff make it! Such a neighborhood vibe. Wait staff get to know you and are lovely. Make it worth it. Mac and cheese was excellent. Mini burgers one should specify desired doneness. My kid ordered them and it was assumed well done. They were inedible, really. And it is not cheap for what it is. I still say go. Lots of excellent options. Fish and chips if you don’t mind fried.
A wonderful option for sunday brunch, though we noticed too late that the brunch specials were not advertised on our table.
Very good food and nice service
I wrote a review a few months ago because I was so disappointed with the service and Ellington had really lost it’s personal touch. Well it seems like they got their groove back. The waiter that served us in the past 3 times was not there, TG! The young waitress and gentleman who have been there for years were awesome. Didn’t miss a beat.
Great food and great experkence. So glad I made a reservation, as we just missed a rush. It was the first nice day of the year so we got to sit outside, and the staff didn’t mind when we asked to move because the sun was bright. Our waiter, Matt, was friendly, professional and accommodating. I will definitely visit again as it is close to school and where friends live.
Great service, tasty food! Brunch menu had a good combination of both brunch and lunch options.
