Very quaint restaurant. Our server Emma was outstanding, and so was the manager Sara. They made you feel like you were in their home. Very courteous and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Made a last minute reservation for Thanksgiving dinner based of on-line reviews. What a gem! Staff was outstanding and food fantastic. Our family of five had such a blast. Absolutely would go there again and adding this to our list of favorite spots in NYC. Can not say enough great things about this place.

This is in our rotation as a fun, cozy bar to grab a bite. The service is attentive and the draught beer list is extensive. However, I really wish they could get the food together. The nachos arrived with a cold slick of sour cream and guacamole which killed any warmth from the melted cheese. But the waitress was happy to take them back and have them put the toppings on the side and reheat the base. Frankly, they should prepare them that way. The last time I went the burger wasn’t great but the fries were delicious. This time, the burger was pretty good but the fries were tough and dry, as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp. The last few times, our burger rolls were cold to the touch. This time my roll was at least room temp. My husband liked his shepherd’s pie a lot. We’ll give it a couple more tries to see if they can get everything on the same page.

This is a great neighborhood pub in terms of ambiance and vibe. Nice bar, great list of draft beers. The food just doesn't do justice to the space, however. The burger is a seasoned patty that tastes more like meat loaf--and it wasn't rare as ordered. Lamb burger at $17 was skimpy. Turkey burger undistinguished. The burger rolls were cold to the touch--as if they were refrigerated. The French fries are excellent --sweet potato fries tasty but a bit soggy. The arugula/goat cheese/prosciutto salad and fish and chips are outstanding and fried calamari quite respectable. The service was friendly and attentive. I would really need to know that The Ellington has revamped their burger before I go back. Since Toast closed, the neighborhood has yet to produce a juicy, flavorful burger made from unadulterated beef, loosely packed and properly cooked. I am rooting for this place but some tweaking is necessary.

A nice place in a great location. The service was a bit slow, it feels a little understaffed (we had to nearly tackle the server to order, get food, and get the bill at the end), but overall good food, a range of options, and a nice ambiance even for a relatively large group.

Such a cute little ambiance. The brunch we had was good. Wasn’t busy when we were there (Saturday morning at 11:30 ish) which worked out for us. The owner came over and greeted us after we finished eating. Cute little place that I would recommend.

Our server was very attentive and pleasant. Our order came in a timely manner. It wasn't scorching hot or cold. It was perfect. The hostess was able to sit us right away. It was our first time and the experience was memorable. We came for brunch. The food was delicious. Will definitely come back.

Ate here on Wednesday, 8/30/17. Was not overly impressed with the food and service was slow. My fish & chips were not very good, however my husband's arugula goat cheese salad with procuttio was excellent.

The food is quite good (especially brunch) and the service is fabulous. From the moment you walk in, the staff is super friendly and accommodating. It's also an unpretentious place to eat with a lovely atmosphere and you can actually have a comfortable conversation in there. There are a lot of otherwise good restaurants where the noise level is such that catching up with a friend involves talking loudly and straining to hear. Also, great Bloody Marys with brunch. This place is all around lovely.

Delicious. And the server was adorable with a cute Irish brogue. Most of all the hostess had kindly reserved the perfect table for us .
I had called ahead to let her know we were coming with a stroller. She couldn't have been kinder! We will be back!

The service was typical of UWS, not that great but not horrible. Nice staff but just missing the attentive quality. Food was subpar, ordered the huevos ranchero which were more like nacho eggs. Overall ok.

We were six people getting together for a reunion and the setting was perfect. We were given plenty of time to order our food and never rushed during our stay at the restaurant. We were even accommodated with six separate checks!

We had delicious food, once again, a great time, and excellent service. Happy hour wine and beer, buffalo chicken salad, fish and chips with mushy peas, and a knockout chocolate peanut butter dessert.

Can't wait to go back.

Had a wonderful evening. Food was delicious. It was busy, 7pm, with families and Happy Hour, but the wait staff seemed to be everywhere, greeting regulars and new folks warmly, seating them and taking our orders quickly, checking back with us to see what else we might want, and leaving us to our own to enjoy each other and the food.

This is our regular go-to place. Perhaps it will become yours, too!

Everything we ate from the ricotta fritters to the lamb burgers were delicious. Each one of us got a different style of fries and they were all some of the best we've have in a while. The vibe is casual yet food is plated in a sophisticated manner and the prices are fair. Definitely a good choice for dinner on the UWS.

I wish the Ellington, named after Duke Ellington, featured both recorded and live jazz. Instead, it seems geared to appeal mainly to a young crowd who is only interested in meeting up with friends, having a few beers or mac and cheese, and watching sports on the huge TVs over the bar. The ambience is a comfortable but generic neighborhood bar/restaurant. The service was great, and the food is surprisingly good and the portions are large--my roasted salmon was cooked rare, which I requested, and my friend had the quinoa salad. Unfortunately, the wine list is small and terrible!
