The Elkridge Furnace Inn Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful waiter and lovely ambience. The soup was lovely. But it was all downhill after that. The lamb was tough and fatty. We waited a long time for the disappointing bread pudding. Clearly it was prepared months ago and was reheated. The coffee is good and so is the wine. It will be a long time before we return.
My Uncle and I had a wonderful brunch and the menu offered a great selection on food and drinks. Loved our experience!
Excellent food and service. Great place for a date night or special occasion.
We very much enjoyed the intimate space in such a historic building. The owner was pleasant a conversationalist appropriate for the mood. The food was very good, not over-sized and reasonably priced for such quality. Good for groups of 2 or 4. Highly recommend.
The Elkridge Furnace Inn is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. We love that they have a gluten-free menu with options and that they grow many of their vegetables on site. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Although the menu can quite pricey you definitely get the value for your money.
We had a wonderful experience here before. This time, the brunch breads were stale, one of the entree's served at room temperature, and my favorite appetizer was half size of what it used to be. The service was very nice as always.
Lovely place! We got married here, so it seemed like the perfect place for our 5 year anniversary. We were not disappointed! Wonderful food, great service. Just a lovely evening and we've been rationing the macarons we took home for the last two days, which was an extra fun part. :)
Delightful place, very busy. Attentive service. Upstairs room was somewhat cramped and warm (fire place adjacent). Delicious lamb shank and harvest veggies. Dessert outstanding. Red Côte du Rhine was superb. Overall wonderfull experience! Just a bit long (2 1/2 hours).
The food was spectacular and the service was great. Our server gave lots of interesting information about the restaurant and described the food well. Everything was made in house and delicious. Although a little pricey, it was certainly worth it. Great for special occasions.
Since our very first visit, the staff here always make us feel welcome and pampered.
As always, our dinner was outstanding! Hilary and Jake were awesome-excellent service! Chef Daniel’s dishes were so delicious and the wine he chose for us was perfect! Looking forward to our next dinner there!
This is our favorite holiday and special occasion restaurant. We've never had a bad meal here. The staff are very friendly and professional. Highly recommended!
Excellent food in a quirky, renovated 1744 building--unusual for the land of strip malls that surrounds it. Perfect for a date night/special occasion!
My husband and I went to the Elkridge Furnace Inn for the first time this past weekend for our anniversary. I have been wanting to try the restaurant for some time but this was the first time we made it there. The food was delicious, the service amazing and the ambiance was very nice. There was a wedding reception going on out back which we could hear the music and there was a semi-noisy table next to us which did detract a bit from the overall experience but neither one were things necessarily within the control of the restaurant. The desserts were excellent--the hardest part was choosing! Our server told us about the restaurant, the chef, the local farm-to-table experience as it was our first time there and I was very impressed. They went out of their way to make our anniversary special.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the EFI on Saturday evening and we were extremely satisfied with the experience. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival at our reserved time and seated at a very nice table on the main floor. Our waiter made sure we knew about the specials and then made sure that our dinner was served at our pace. The wine list is deep and wide and quite reasonable in terms of the number of moderately priced bottles. The occasion called for a bit of a splurge on a Napa Cab but I saw a number of very well priced offerings across all of the apelations. The cuisine here is clearly the result of an imaginative and skilled chef and each course exceeded our expectations. We felt welcome and were never rushed or pushed in a particular direction and we both agreed that this evening was one of the most memorable we've had during our 28 years of marriage.
Had a fantastic dinner out. We do date nights on weeknights to avoid the weekend crush, and it paid off - our server was extremely attentive and helpful, and both the manager and the chef stopped by to chat and check in. The food is seasonal, local (they grow a great deal of produce on the property!), and delicious. Our server pointed out some good wine options for our steaks, and he did not steer us wrong - the bottle we selected was fantastic, as were our steaks. It was a spendy night out for us...the kind of splurge we only make a few times a year. It was worth it - delectable food, leftovers for lunch the next day (cue the jealous coworkers) and fantastic service.
It has been a number of years since we last visited Elkridge Furnace Inn and it was a joy to be back. The host was utterly charming and really made us feel welcome. The food was delicious. Our server, Eric, was very attentive and courteous. We can't wait to return!
My wife and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary at Elkridge Furnace Inn. I always try to find some place special for our anniversary every year, and believe me we have been to some very special ones. This place ranks right up there with the best of them. My wife ordered the delmonico steak, and the flavor, the seasoning and the doneness of the steak were immaculate. I seriously thought about hijacking her steak, but the soft shell crabs I ordered were quite delicious as well. Staff was very pleasant, attentive, yet not overly done to where you wish they would just leave you alone.
Great experience as always, look forward to the next time we come for dinner. Great menu variety
The food was outstanding, as is the ambiance. Our waiter was very knowledgeable but lacked a tad in the niceness arena. Any time I travel to Baltimore, this place will be on my list of go-to's just for the meal & atmosphere.
My family and I came to the Elkridge Furnace Inn to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. We had a party of 10 and had a nice private room. But it was all downhill from there. On an otherwise very slow night at the restaurant it took 15 minutes to get cocktails. Our server was not well versed in the menu and had to read from his chest sheet. He dropped lots of utensils all over the place and seemed appalled that we asked for white rolls for the kids. The meals are very pricey and just not special at all. I had brisket which was dry. I also tried my husband's steak and my son's pasta. All were sub par. The desserts were equally disappointing with the creme brule having an overly intense coffee flavor. So disappointed.
We celebrated a birthday dinner here on a weekday, and dinner was delicious. One of us had the trout, which was a special, and the other the brisket. We shared a salad. The bread basket has a nice selection of rolls. We really enjoyed the food. The only drawback is a limited by the glass wine list (not one sparkling wine is offered). Desserts were brought to the table to entice us, but we were too full.
Their brunch, which is what we had, is a great deal for $29 per person. Many and varied menu options to choose from. And the amount of food is generous.
The food is conaistently great and the service impecable. The menu changes frequently so there is alwats something new to try.
This is a great restaurant. Quiet and Quaint ambiance, the menu is very creative and the food is excellent. The host and manager was welcoming. The wait staff attentive, the trout grenobloise was perfectly cooked and perhaps a little over sauced, but moist, meaty, and flavorful. The wine list has something for everyone.
Entire meal was wonderful! We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us champagne and were checked on by Chef Daniel and his wife Donna. We felt very spoiled and very satisfied! I would highly recommend!
My wife and I went here for her birthday. She is a vegitarian so I thought the farm to table Idea would appeal to her(which it did). Every thing was great. The service was exceptional. The only thing was I wish they had more than one vegetarian man course. But my wife was happy ordering more than one appetizer and a big salad. She was very satisfied as was eye. She didn't the only reason for a 4 on the food was she didn't like one of her appetizers. But they were very accommodating about it. Taking it off our bill and trying to make the rest of the meal right. Not only did the manager come out but the head chef also. We will definitely be coming back to the Elkridge Furnace Inn. This is one of our new favorites!!
