The Elkridge Furnace Inn
Chef-owned, yard and farm to table, using lots of local sourcing, our complex dishes turn ordinary ingredients into something extraordinary. Seasonal menu and daily specials. Our historic location is part of the adventure!
We serve a fusion of New American and French Inspiration. Our executive chef was trained under the French disciplines which always come out in our stocks, sauces and presentations. Many regional and ethnic cuisines influenced by French cuisine are also reflected on our menu. Our in-House Pastry will add just the right ending to your dining experience.
We love creating special times to share with our friends. We intersect literature, history and geography as story with our food. There is always something new and creative happening. At the Elkridge Furnace Inn and Garden House, “we make Memories”.

Delicious appetizers and main courses prepared by a gourmet chef. Phenomenal attentive staff. Whenever in the BWI area I always have dinner at Elkridge Furnace.
Love to eat when we head to BWI for a trip. It is always a great way to start a vacation!
Fantastic!! This surpasses all other restaurants in the area. Veggies grown on the property year around. The freshest food and supporting a local chef owned restaurant. Historic building is gorgeous.
We were there on a week night and had a beautiful side room all to ourselves. Great for social distancing. Wonderful food and decor.
Absolutely everything was fantastic! Our 8th Anniversary dinner couldn’t have been better! Food, beverage, service and atmosphere were perfect!
Always a great meal at the Furnace Inn. They do a great job of spacing tables, so I would not hesitate to recommend a meal there. They have both indoor and outdoor (tent with heaters) options.
Wonderful atmosphere and great staff.
Elkridge and its staff are always a pleasure. Today was no exception.
Excellent Baltimore soup, perfect duck salad (duck cooked as it should be on the pink side and nice vinaigrette, filet mignon (very tender) and pear/almond tart dessert delicious. Bottle of red wine nice too. Waiter friendly and attentive as was other staff. They did a truly great New Years Eve dinner (our wedding anniversary too). Out first time here and will definitely return.
We recently attended their Sunday brunch.
We've been 7 or 8 times in the last 2 years or so, and regret we've missed out all these years.
Food is just excellent, server was excellent.
Environment is warm and inviting.
We dined in the heated tent (a wedding styled tent), it was very comfortable. For what you get in terms of food, I think this restaurant still delivers value for the money spent.
Highly recommended for dinner. We love the Sunday brunch as well.
The ambiance and service are impeccable. The staff is very welcoming. And the pumpkin waffles were delicious! Highly recommend.
Love it! Done
Lovely ambiance and good food in an unhurried atmosphere.
Excellent as always! Top Notch meal options, awesome wine list and great owners / employees. Perfect for just about any occasion. We highly recommend visiting.
Everything was nicely done..... from the service to the food... and it is always nice to have the chef come and talk to the customers
We had a lovely birthday celebration dinner for two. Service and food both excellent. Close attention to COVID safety throughout. Tables spaced far apart. We sat in 'outdoor' tented dining area - includes festive lighting, heated etc.
Always extraordinary. A true hidden gem!! I love this restaurant. It is a great holiday treat. Where else can you get Hot Chocolate Ice cream with marshmellows?? Over the top A++ service too.
Service was very slow, Food came out just warm and was very bland. I would not go back.
Arrived on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Had a glass of champagne to start, followed it up with Fois Gras, then a wild mushroom omelette which I added goat cheese too- all delicious, well prepared and presented! Would dine again in a heart beat!
Great experience in a great historic venue! I can’t believe I never knew this was here. For sure the go to spot for our special occasion and date night dining!
The ambiance was great. The staff was friendly but it took forever to get our food which was just OK. The tent was well ventilated but cold. Still, I would recommend this restaurant and would return.
Loved every minute. Thank you our Waitress Emily. Excellent service. Our bartender who I did not get the name who I assume is also the host at the time. Also very much loved that the chef came to our table to ask how everything was. Will be going back for sure.
This was our first time for brunch at this restaurant. Absolutely delicious. We followed it with a wonderful Chef led history walk. Just an all around wonderful experience!!
Lovely place with excellent food! Very personable staff and owners.
Been going here for many years. It’s beautiful inside and out. Beautiful grounds and wonderful food. The staff is outstanding and the chef Dan and his beautiful wife come out to greet you.
Started with a nice greeting at the door, followed by a very hospitable maitre d'. We ate in the garden area, and waitstaff was very pleasant and attentive. We had a beautiful holiday dinner. Even given the current situation, they made every effort to make us feel comfortable.
Food was delicious and exciting. The chef did a wonderful job on the Thanksgiving selections!
One of my all time favorite places to eat out, beautiful historic property and excellent food, outstanding service and do a wonderful job with pandemic restrictions. I will return!
I enjoyed the restaurant. This is the time of Covid so we were outside in a tent. The owners and staff did everything to make it as nice as possible.
Fine food in a beautiful Howard County, Md setting.
Fresh food expertly prepared. Everything was delicious. Friendly, helpful staff and even other patrons were friendly as well. Restaurant was very clean and every precaution was taken to keep customers safe. My favorite restaurant!
This was our fourth time dining at EFI for Thanksgiving. For some reason, this experience was better than the others.
EFI has found many creative ways of working through the pandemic and on this occasion, we had our own room inside the restaurant. Because of our reservation time, I don't think anyone had sat at the table before we arrived.
For one of the courses, my wife and I had the Wild Game Pate and it was excellent. My mother-in-law had the Cream of Baltimore soup and she thought it was very good.
All three of us had the turkey plate for our main course and it was very good as well.
Service was great. Brian waited on us and he does an excellent job. The courses were spaced out nicely.
All in all, I highly recommend EFI for any occasion. I know many people are apprehensive about eating out during this time but they take every precaution to make eating there a safe experience.
A wonderful venue and delicious food. My girlfriend has an allergy to one of the ingredients in her dish, which she forgot to mention when we ordered. The kitchen very kindly prepared another dish without the ingredient. They were very attentive and respectful. Highly recommend!
Beautiful setting, fantastic food and service. I would highly recommend a visit, if we lived closer we would go every week!!
