We serve a fusion of New American and French Inspiration. Our executive chef was trained under the French disciplines which always come out in our stocks, sauces and presentations. Many regional and ethnic cuisines influenced by French cuisine are also reflected on our menu. Our in-House Pastry will add just the right ending to your dining experience.

Excellent food in an excellent ambience. I will definitly go back.
Our evening began with an extensive and reasonably priced wine list; we selected a Frog’s Leap Zin and a Duckhorn Sav Blanc. We started with a Delicious Grilled Fig appetizer special and wonderful ‘special request’ of Fois; Lovely beet salad followed. Mains were complemented with vegetables and minor substitutions were graciously accommodated. Rib eye 8oz was perfectly prepared and melt-in-the mouth tender. Corvina special was an unanticipated delight and Wild mushroom risotto was perfect; the scallops and shrimp were also enjoyed. A slight mistake with the pork sausage dish delivered instead of the requested pork shank was handled with impressive finesse. Chocolate mousse topped off an excellent evening. It was a joy to be welcomed in person by the chef; Jack and Hillary, our waiter/host were engaging and efficient; however, at times water glasses went empty well before the bus staff noticed—a small but important task which can be easily adjusted. The menu offered a number of unique options; all seasonally sourced. First visit will not be the last!!!
A wonderful classy place with great ambience
Our server was phenomenal. He offered excellent recommendations and service. I highly recommend
Food never disappoints here, wait staff was also very good. Pricey, but worth it for special occasions.
The Furnace Inn is truly a wonderful place to dine. The atmosphere is superb and the changing menu is always something to look forward to. I really appreciate the chef’s engagement with the guests.
Magical experience with all the details attended to. Good was outstanding and fresh. Wonderful for your most special occasions or intimate dinner.
Wonderful ambiance, great service and delicious food. Wonderful setting
Always a great meal with great service. Never miss an opportunity to eat here when I am in the area.
Excellent and perfect for a business dinner as the service was exemplary.
The seafood crepe was very good and my associate's corn beef sandwich was good as well. The server could have been friendlier and may have been the only server in the restaurant that day. It is a great change from other restaurants in the area and love the historic nature of the inn.
There was a very long wait time for the food.
Overall experience was good!
We had a lovely brunch on a rainy Sunday morning that stretched into the early afternoon. The food was excellent and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Service was good but a bit slow getting our entrees our. Our server apologized for the delay. I’d just caution not to expect to be in and out in an hour. Our reservation was for 10:45 and we exited the inn around 1:15 very well fed
Fantastic food, service was outstanding and prompt. Very great atmosphere. Relaxing end to the week.
Definitely a unique experience. Elkridge Furnace Inn has been on my radar for the last 5 years but just never ended up visiting for one reason or another.
Set in the inn of 1744(incredibly) on what is unassumingly 13 acres of land that the restaurant is using for creating one of the most (if not the most) farm to table experience in the locale of Baltimore. They're growing their own figs, mushrooms, all kinds of delights and the owner/chef is also a licensed butcher which just adds to the from scratch mystique - including their use of local farms for what they can't do themselves.
Service was top notch, friendly, quirky, and witty made it seem like we'd been dining their for years(some of our fellow patrons had and the whole staff knew them all by name). We were absolutely the youngest couple there, I'd say the average age was 50+.
Food was interesting, rich, and definitely had a home made vibe to it. The pork chop is my favorite of all time, perfectly cooked, a nice crunchy exterior, expertly seasoned - definitely memorable.
The prosciutto wrapped figs were outstanding as well, sweet, tangy, meaty, and creamy.
Everything else didn't fall short necessarily, just didn't impress us. We'll pass on the rest of the fall season and likely return in spring/end of winter to try their other seasonal offerings.
Cocktails were mostly alcohol in flavor, the interesting sounding ingredients didn't mesh well with the liquors - if we return I'd likely get a scotch neat.
Great service, incredible food and a spectacular venue.
The Elkridge Inn is a fantastic place to eat for any special occasion. While the price is high, it does not disappoint in any aspect. From the service to the food, I will definitely be returning here.
My husband and I went to the Furnace Inn for his birthday for brunch. The food was excellent and plentiful. The service was quick and exceptional. Going to the Inn is like stepping back in time which makes any occasion special.
Sunday Brunch is such a great tradition, Nancy! It makes us so happy that you enjoyed the time spent with us celebrating your husband's birthday. Although things can occasionally get a bit crazy, the nice thing about a smaller chef-owned restaurant is that you can keep it more personal. Thanks for the wonderful review... Cheers and hope to see you again soon!
TEFI was outstanding in all respects. There was not the first glimmer of an issue to view negatively. The menu was eclectic and had an outstanding charcuterie selection. I could have easily made a meal from it, the starters and some wine. All in our party of four concur in how impressive the experience was. One plans to bring his wife... and mother in law back which is mute testimony to the high five meal. All personnel were excellent. The owner/chef stopped by for an extended conversation. We were seated upon entering the premises on a Saturday night! It was great. I heartily recommend TEFI for an outstanding meal and experience.
We do love being creative with our seasonal menu and specials, flosprey. Our Kitchen Team collaborates to bring such great variety highlighted by our organic gardens and local sourcing. It tickles us to no end when we punch in a home run, because there is so much hard work in the background to be so fresh. Thank you for the very thoughtful and encouraging review!
This is always been my favorite place to take my favorite person. I miss Hillary, but I appreciate that the quality of the restaurant has remained extremely high.
Consistently superb fresh and locally sourced food A very special place. Diverse menu for all preferences.
Consistency is always our goal with our guests in mind. We appreciate your business and your kind words Frank!
Great new seasonal menu. Outstanding service, food and atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
A wonderful dinner at The Elkridge Furnace Inn! Everything was perfect, from the special attention to detail, the professional staff, the entire meal, and even talking with the Chef and his lovely wife. We can't wait to visit again.
And we are amazed when guests travel far and wide to enjoy our restaurant and gardens Jean. Thanks for sharing a meal with us and appreciate you sharing your experience!
We don’t live close by, but we go here as often as plausible. The cook is magnificent. If you go out looking to eat well, this is one of those places.
We appreciate your vote of confidence MDGeorge. Thanks for helping us get the work out! Cheers
Great food. The whole environment at the Inn was very welcoming. The waiter was wonderful but I was very impressed when the owner came to talk to us. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Sometimes things can get a little busy, but the owners do love to personally greet our guests whenever possible. A total dining experience not only satisfies the palate but soothes the soul, Mary. Santé!
The staff was excellent - very knowledgeable on the menu and had great service. This was a great choice for a date night. Already planning to go back.
We know excellence is always what we strive for. Glad you enjoyed your date night! Any constructive suggestions to improve our ambiance is welcome...
What a delight, great food, great atmosphere, great service, great background music! I had to promise to bring my aunt back for her next birthday. Thank you for being so gracious & wonderful.
Well you're certainly welcome, Debra! Thanks for sharing a wonderful meal with us and we look forward to helping you and your aunt celebrate next time!
Food was, as always, great. Also, gluten free options and the way the chef can work with individual requests. Always highly recommended.
Because we "make our own food" we can also make appropriate changes for allergies and dietary needs. This is our pleasure! Thanks for the recommendation, Ryan!
Outstanding food. Excellent service. Wonderful ambience. Definitely one of the premier restaurants in the region.
We do so much appreciate your vote of confidence "ColumbiaDiner"! Thanks for sharing a meal with us and for taking the time to share your thoughts!
An excellent dining experience!
Thanks for sharing your experience Nette! Cheers!
The food preparation was excellent, the service was attentive but unobtrusive. The atmosphere was romantic and subdued, and the attention to detail was fabulous. It was a great evening.
We definitely have creative choices on our seasonal menu, Richard, and are glad you enjoyed both your food and service. Cheers!
I have been talking about this restaurant ever since I went there this summer. It's not for your kids; it's for good friends or a serious date. It's for grownups in comfortable atmosphere.
Hello "everythingisdelicious"! Since we are just a bit hidden away, we really appreciate when guests who love what we do help get the word out about our upscale, yard and farm to table fare. From the bottom of our hearts...Thanks!
Although the historic building is interesting the quality of the food was not. We were a group of 5 and none of us finished the main meal, we all left it in the plates, even after asking for salt and pepper to try to provide some taste to the food. Very disappointing.
With a very diverse clientele, we are proud of our average rating on Open Table of 4.7 stars, Alcione, so we are very disappointed that our cuisine did not make the mark for your group. Our French trained Executive Chef, along with our Kitchen Team work hard, from our acre of organic gardens, local sourcing, stocks and sauces that take days to prepare...to offer our diners a memorable upscale dining experience. We do appreciate your stopping by our historic venue and wish your all the best!
We love this restaurant but the pheasant just missed the mark . Cold smoked prime rib was great.
We appreciate the input Tony! I've passed your remarks onto our executive chef. Our new fall menu will start on October 1 with lots of new creative choices... Cheers!
Great. Table was ready. Had a 3 yr old and gf ordering. Food was delicious and enjoyed by all
Although we don't advertise our children's menu, some parents enjoy our place as a great intro to their kids for fine dining. Glad your family enjoyed the visit!
What a lovely birthday dinner! The staff went above and beyond to make the evening special, starting with complimentary champagne, and including special chocolate messaging and a candle with our dessert. As always, the food was spectacular - EFI's partnerships with local farms is evident in the quality of the food, which is amazingly fresh and delicious. The staff is extremely friendly, and contributed to a fun night. The chef came and chatted with us twice, which is such a nice touch. Love EFI!
We so appreciate your thoughtful review Melanie. Glad you shared s superlative birthday with us! Cheers!!
We celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary at the Elkridge Furnace Inn tonight. We started the evening witha complimentary glass of champagne. Our soups, the Cream of Baltimore Crab and the French Onion, prepared our pallets for the flavorful feast of the Delmonico steak and the etouffee. A perfect meal, attentive service and quiet atmosphere to celebrate our anniversary.
Cheers! And Happy Anniversary Joseph! And thanks for taking the time from your busy schedule to share your review!
We had a fantastic time. The staff is friendly, inviting, and attentive. They have an extensive wine list and are very knowledgeable and will be glad to assist you in choosing a wine to pair with your meal. The chef/owner took the time to out of the kitchen and introduce himself and offer his thoughts on our wine selection. This was a perfect find for a date night and we certainly will be going back.
Our executive chef truly loves sharing his passion for wine and excellent food. Fantastic is what we love to hear. Thanks for joining us for a good meal Antonio!
Great! Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a place to eat
Thanks for the vote of confidence David! Cheers!
We try come here every time we visit Maryland. Everyone remembers us and make us feel at home.
