The Elkridge Furnace Inn
Chef-owned, yard and farm to table, using lots of local sourcing, our complex dishes turn ordinary ingredients into something extraordinary. Seasonal menu and daily specials. Our historic location is part of the adventure!
We serve a fusion of New American and French Inspiration. Our executive chef was trained under the French disciplines which always come out in our stocks, sauces and presentations. Many regional and ethnic cuisines influenced by French cuisine are also reflected on our menu. Our in-House Pastry will add just the right ending to your dining experience.

This is my go to place for any very special event, and celebrating my girlfriend's birthday for the first time in our new relationship was just that. The ambiance was just what we wanted, and the food was delicious. We'll be back when it's time to celebrate again!
The crab cakes were delicious, the service was excellent and the setting is beautiful. Well worth the drive to meet up with an old friend.
It was amazing! We loved our experience. We were celebrating a new job change and were given free champagne! Such a great spot!
Amazing dinner, as always!
Good food and nice atmosphere except some people tried to rope us into their ceremony out back as we were leaving. Sorry but we aren't wedding crushers LOL!
I love the look, feel and service at the EFI. The food was spotty, though. We really enjoyed the tomato and ricotta tart. The corn risotto was much less inspired. The texture was rather mealy, and the corn was overly starchy and chewy. I liked the roasted tomato garnish, same as came in the tart. My husband's steak dujour (strip steak) was rather "tendony" at the first couple of bites, but the rest was delicious, as were the smashed potatoes. We each had a cocktail: the pomegranate cosmopolitan and the highball. Both were excellent. We shared the creme brulee for dessert and it was perfect. Given the lack of consistency (especially with the risotto), I can't say the dinner at roughly $130 was a good value.
Excellent birthday dinner. The entrees were spectacular. We had beef, veal and pork and all were prepared beautifully. The sides and sauces were wonderful. The chef came and told us the some of the history of the dishes we ordered. Will definitely return for the winter seasonal menu.
We sat outside and it was beautiful and the service was great
Excellent dining experience! Chef Dan always makes an appearance and we love the personal touch.
This was our first time at the Elridge Furnace Inn. It was beautiful, the food was very good. We will definitely eat here again.
We live the furnace inn. Food is great, service friendly and efficient and the location is fantastic.
The farm-to-table food was faultlessly prepared, the service was attentive, and we were delighted to be able to eat outside, on such a lovely day.
It’s a restaurant worthy of special occasions, for sure.
Especially helpful, courteous staff. Food is unique, ate on the front porch, they let us stay as long as we wanted (3 hours!!). My favorite place to dine.
The atmosphere was beautiful in a historic home with beautiful landscapes. Also the food is excellent along with the outstanding service.
The wine was a little pricey, but the meal was outstanding. Tony & Steven delivered exceptional service. Another associate gave us a quick tour of the house. Would have paid for tour of the wine cellar and a complete chef/kitchen experience. Would definitely go back … and can’t wait to!
The EF Inn is always a great dining experience. Their food is delicious and the staff is always courteous and helpful. Highly recommended!
Family reunion dinner.
Amazing and gracious staff.
The food was very good. Might possibly have been the beat burger I have ever had. You can't go wrong with this place. It is pricey, so we will be back on special occasions.
Food and service is outstanding. Food is farm to table, cooked to perfection and service is wonderful. Prices are high and there is very little outdoor seating.
Perfect! Perfect food, service, atmosphere!!
We both had the shrimp and scallop. It was excellent but they only gave you one scallop. We would order it again. Thank you.
I was quite disappointed to pay $33 for an entrée that included three pieces of shrimp and one scallop.
Yes, the entree included mashed potatoes and broccolinii and the food was prepared well. However, the price was outrageous for the small portion.
OMG, I cant believe we haven't eaten here before. This place was amazing. Best burger I have EVER had. I even requested a side of the scallop/shrimp sauce, and didn't need it the burger was so good. Can not wait to go back again!!!
Lovely dining on the patio with wife and sister-in-law (her birthday weekend)
Always a wonderful meal!
Excellent food, nice ambiance and great service. A place for a intimate dinner or a nice night out.
The inn itself is charming. My wife raved about her coquille st jacques. I took the low road and had a burger…and it was fantastic! My missing star for ambience is due to the music selection — mostly jazzy instrumental with an occasional distracting vocal. If there were ever a venue crying out for classical strings, this is it.
The service was slow and our waiter only did about 20% of serving us, the rest was done by the busboy. However, we did meet Chef Dan, who was very passionate about the food and an all around great person to talk to.
My girlfriend ordered a Cesar salad with chicken added to it. When it arrived the chicken was hard, like it wasn't cooked enough. They took it back to 'fix', but what was returned was very cold, like it had just been removed from the refrigerator. We had to send it back again before it was right.
At the end of the night, my girlfriend noticed that the bill was incorrect. The steak that I ordered came with a side. The other one came with mushrooms and no side. When I pointed it out, they adjusted the check, then insisted that I had received the other steak, even though I didn't order it and there were no mushrooms on what I received.
We were very disappointed.
My experience for the Sunday brunch was totally enjoyable. The quiet ambiance of the room was a welcome change to previous dining experiences. The service was impeccable!! The crab omelet tasted bland and was too juicy, due to the tomatoes.
Yes, I would order again, requesting the tomatoes be replaced with mozzarella.
Thank you !!
Food was delicious and wait staff was very attentive. They acknowledged our wedding anniversary and made it special. Would highly recommend.
We went to celebrate our anniversary. The place looks amazing, cozy and romantic. The service was excellent from the beginning. The food was great. Fresh, tasty and well portioned. They brought us complimentary champagne glasses along with the dessert. The chef/owner came to our table to chat and wish us a happy anniversary. We really had a great evening.
We had a beautiful experience. The place is absolutely great. Staff is courteous friendly and on top of their game. The ambience was probably my favorite thing of the evening however the food was very good. The service was excellent we had Steven as a waiter and the hostess Bethany was very courteous. Chef came by our table twice to check on us and introduce himself. He was absolutely delightful. I would definitely go back and what a romantic beautiful venue.
This was a lovely experience. We were looking to have our rehearsal dinner here and the owner/chef even gave us a private tour!
Lovely experience - excellent wine selection and fantastic food.
I celebrated my birthday with dinner here along with my husband and my parents. Everything was absolutely fabulous! The food, the atmosphere, and the service were amazing and we can't wait to go back!!
Wonderful, as always. Food is fantastic, intimate atmosphere, great service.
We had an enjoyable brunch. The Quiché was baked to perfection and the huevos rancheros were delicious.
The staff couldn't have been more courteous or friendlier. Certainly felt like we were welcomed guests at someone's home.
We have dined here before so knew we were dining here for the ambiance, uniqueness and to spend an enjoyable time conversating.
The only negative was a couple next to us who seemed to want a quick meal and to go about their day which led to them complaining to management about how slow they thought the service was. Ruined the experience for us a little but that is not on the Elkridge Furnace Inn staff.
We definitely will return for brunch or dinner again.
Absolutely fantastic! Every dish we ordered was made to perfection, the service was great, and ambiance was unique and homey and fine all at once, and everyone was extremely friendly. They use local foods, particularly from their garden across the street, have space for events, and are located by the state park. Highly recommend and plan to be back soon!
Perfect experience. My wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at the same place we dined on our wedding day. The 12 oz NY strip (steak du jour) with truffle butter was fantastic. "Our rare is very rare," the server advised. Which is what I like. He was true to his word and the steak was amazing. My wife had the shrimp and grits which was also excellent. We enjoyed appetizers of fried oysters and several charcuterie selections. Also had a couple cocktails. We honestly might have to consider indulging like this more frequently than every 10 years! All in all, this is fine dining so it's not inexpensive, but the value of our experience was completely commensurate with what we paid. This is also the sort of place I'd take out-of-towners if I wanted to impress them.
