We were a party of 5 and were given our own private dining room. The service was outstanding, attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious. It was a perfect birthday celebration.
This restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in the mid-Atlantic. I extended my business trip by a day and my friend flew in just to eat there. It is THAT good!
Spread the word!
This restaurant is so wonderful! It is quiet and the food is very good. I have eaten here twice and loved everything I ordered very much. I wasn't impressed with the dessert this time though. It was okay, not fantastic like what I had last time. I have also booked a private party here and they are so accommodating. Service is impeccable! I would recommend this place to anyone.
I love the refined ambience at Elkridge Furnace Inn. The music in the background is tasteful and relaxing. The warm baked sweet breads delivered to the table before the meal were excellent. The gravlax from the appetizper menu was delicious. I ordered crab cake Benedict. The egg and hollandaise sauce overpowered the taste of the crabcakes. Next time I will order the seafood crepe or seafood omelet which my husband enjoyed. I consider $71.00 for Sunday brunch for 2 including $7 for 2 glasses of sparkling water pricey. I was able to use a Groupon and gift certificate that made the brunch affordable.
Wanted to find a special place for our annual girls’ get together. Food choices were amazing and everything was exceptional! The extra special nod to veterans makes it all the more special (I’m retired Air Force)
The food was delicious, the service was excellent. The timing of everything was good. We did not feel rushed.
As always Elkridge Furnance Inn, was perfect!! The service, the food and the setting all combined to be just the right place for me and my wife to celebrate our anniversary. We shall be back!
I always, always enjoy the Furnace Inn whenever I go. The ambiance is wonderful, service is attentive and professional, and the food is superb. I have a gluten intolerance and it’s a real chore to find good gluten free food, the chef is masterful! I am so grateful excellence is the standard. I am excited every time I have the chance to spend and evening there!
I ordered the crab cake entree. Let me begin by saying that I have a very low tolerance for crab meat that has a fishy taste. Sadly these crab cakes tasted fishy and were lacking in the “jumbo lump” crab meat that was noted on the menu. It was a disappointing meal. I really expected better quality ingredients from this restaurant.
Great new spring menu! Fantastic service and incredible food. A terrific experience as usual.
Met a friend I hadn't seen in a long time for lunch. The staff was so attentive and the food was delicious. I'll definitely go back.
My husband I went here for our anniversary. The brunch was fantastic! Service is exceptional. Fantastic place for a special occasion.
Phenomenal meal at The Elkridge Furnace Inn Saturday evening! Love the romantic ambiance of the lit up Inn - the decor and layout of the various dining rooms. Our servers, Jeremiah and Aaron, could not have been better - both friendly and attentive - they were on top of their game. Our food was absolutely delicious - best meal we've had in a long time - and we eat out a lot and eat some very good food. The smoked shrimp appetizer was wonderful. My husband really enjoyed the wild game cassoulet and my filet mignon with the wild mushroom and the southern grits with bacon and asparagus were excellent. My husband loves all of the wild game dishes that they always have on their menu. The creme brulee' and chocolate framboise trifle were also perfectly prepared and delicious. I can't say enough about the wonderful meal that we experienced! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend.
The only reason the value was "very good" and not "outstanding" was that the menu is on the pricier side. Understood, the effort to use local and on-site food and the care put in to preparing these foods has a value, just not everyday value. Definitely great for special occasions.
Excellent French food. Best selection of gluten free dishes.
This is our go to place if we want a romantic meal and don't care much what the cost. You DO get what you pay for. Staff is very attentive. Appetizers, salads and all entrees we have had over the years are second to none. If you have an anniversary, birthday or other special event, I would encourage you book this venue.
We went there for our anniversary celebration. The wait staff were fabulous. Very attentive, knew it was our anniversary, provided complimentary champagne. Excellent customer service. The food was average. I had the seafood risotto and the risotto was not very creamy and the seafood was a bit overcooked. Great atmosphere but the value for price paid related to the quality of the food is lacking.
Excellent as always. One of my fave date night places.
My wife and I have never been disappointed at the Elkridge Furnace Inn. We had our wedding reception there and it is very nice to be able to go back and experience that same feeling of being an important patron. They treat every guest and table with the same high level of service. It's especially nice to see the owner walking around and talking with guest, tell stories about the history of the Inn and making personal recommendations to the menu based of conversations with the guest.
The best meal I have had in a very long time! If you have the opportunity to dine here, DO IT! You will not be disappointed. I ordered the braised rabbit and my fiancé ordered pork belly and sausage and we felt like royalty! Perfectly seasoned meat, delicious sauces and perfectly roasted veggies were to die for! The service was also impeccable. The attention to detail here is the best and I cannot wait to eat here again! OH, they also have an extensive Gluten Free menu, absolutely delicious!!
We chose this restaurant because of its EXTENSIVE gluten free menu. All of the food was excellent and the craft cocktails were delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to friends whether or not they are gluten free. :D
Awesome food and atmosphere. They really treated us wonderfully!
The Elkridge Furnace Inn is our go to place for special occasions or to treat ourselves. Wonderful staff and excellent food!
Wonderful experience as usual. Food was phenomenal and service was superb. They created a specialty mimosa for me. Will definitely continue to visit again.
Our favorite brunch! We love the food, the service, and even the house itself. The head chef is always present and his level of attention to his business and his care about the food shows.
Fantastic experience! Celebrating a special anniversary! Started with quiet dining room...server closed the hidden doors to the adjacent dining room and provided complimentary Champaign. We ordered chef specials and everything was perfect, including the grilled tuna and the lamb duo, medium rare. The accompanying dishes blended perfectly. For a great meal, refined atmosphere and a romantic setting, enjoy the Elkridge Furnace Inn.....
Great experience from reservation, greeting, seating, menu explanation, layered service, drinks, food and dessert...highly recommend.
Awesome food, super service, historical venue... What's not to absolutely love about this place!
2nd time there, the food is always great. Only been for breakfast but it is enjoyable. Service is great everyone is professional and courteous. It is a little pricey but you do get big portions
Elkridge Furnace Inn is simply a fantastic restaurant. Not only is the food outstanding, but also the service. Highly recommended, especially for special occasions.
Let's start with the service. Mediocre. Next we have the food. Came to the table lukewarm. Godbrother and I had the surf and turf. Steak was bland and tough (I ordered medium rare). Shrimp was rubbery. Asparagus spears were woody and hard to cut and eat. Again....lukewarm. Ordered the chocolate cake with truffle ice cream. Cake tasted like it was cooked in a mug inside of a microwave. Food was nothing to write home about. We will not be coming back. The ambience was very calming and peaceful. We sat by the fireplace. I would avoid this place if you're looking for stand out food and service.
A quaint old house with all of the charm of years long gone. Rooms are broken into little venues; the night that we were there jazz played in the background. The service was prompt - Hilary was highly attentive and shared the history of the farm to table restaurant and the variety of vegetables grown on the property and the extensive wine list. The food presentation was stellar and the taste - delicious. Steak, seafood, pasta - there is something for everyone on the chef's special or standard menu. Definitely an special occasion "go to" dining experience.
The food and especially the service was exceptional! Had a very cozy and private spot near the fire which made the occasion special. Our filets were perfectly cooked and a wonderful dessert capped off the evening.
The restaurant is warm and intimate. The food is exquisitely prepared. Gentle music plays in the background at a low level (perhaps you could classify it as jazz standards and some Sinatra style music). The wait staff is very attentive. Their computer recalled my wife's birthday from a few years ago and comp'd her a glass of champagne. I was please with my drink. The portions are reasonable size for a multi-course dinner. Desserts were very special. Price was reasonable. I vow to go back more than once a year even though it is 35 miles from my house.
One of my favorite hidden gems on the Baltimore region. Great dinner and brunch selection.
The food was very good and the staff was very accommodating. One of us had a gluten and dairy allergy and then chef came out to get more info. He ended up special making things with those allergies in mind. The atmosphere is also very charming. Highly recommend this place.
Wonderful food and service. You must leave space for dessert, they are wonderful.
Our food was not prepared well . Returned over cooked steak and got poor quality . For 500 dollars fpr 4 people you would expect better. much better. Could have gotten that meal at a diner.
Lovely evening. Nice table visit from Chef Dan Wecker.
The roasted cauliflower soup was amazing
We made reservations for 7 without telling the restaurant that it was for celebrating a birthday. We were given a private room and when the waiter found that it was a birthday, he gave champagne to the guest of honor. Also when dessert arrived, the plate was decorated for the occasion. Everyone enjoyed their meals, we could hear the conversation and thoroughly enjoyed the celebration. This is a beautiful, historic mansion. The chef uses produce that is grown on the property. All bakery product are made at the restaurant. Truly farm to table. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
