The Elgin is a bar & restaurant serving upscale fare situated just south of Rockefeller Center & steps from Broadway & Times Square. Our goal is to provide sophisticated cocktails, a carefully curated craft & seasonal beer list, amazing food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Please join us!
The Elgin’s 4 main principals, Peter Pernicone, Darwin Conner, Paul Baum & Christine Trauben, have known each other for 30 years. They all grew up on the lower west side of NYC in Chelsea & had a goal of owning a bar together & could not be more excited about opening The Elgin. As an acknowledgment of their collective history, they named a signature cocktail—the Chelsea 1724—after their neighborhood. Darwin & Paul grew up in Chelsea on 17th St and Peter & Christine lived on 24th St. They are joined by Patrick Callaghan who has been working with Peter for many years.

    The Ahi tuna sandwich was not edible. The noise level in the eating section was really loud. Won't be going back. That's for sure.

    Our server, Leo, was funny ,accommodating, and knowledgeable about the menu. He did ot steer us wrong. Highly recommend this place.

    Food was excellent, but the service was poor. Hostess was dressed in sweat pants, bidders and runners were in t-shirts and ripped jeans, and our server didn’t great us for 5 minutes. Our server also did not introduce herself and was very abrupt with questions. Overall not the service I would ever want for $50 a head.

    This restaurant was very knowledgeable about food allergies and has a dedicated gluten free fryer. My wife got fries for the first time in forever. We will definitely be back next time we’re in New York!

    Sat us quickly. Food came out really fast (in a good way) service was polite and attentive. Food was great and good portions.

    Exceptional staff with fast service and excellent food every time. Love, love, love this place!!The Elgin has become our go to restaurant for a great meal and friendly service. Check them out; you won’t be sorry!
