Welcome to The Elephant Restaurant
The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which is situated near the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham.

Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff.

Due to the style of cooking we cannot produce dairy free menus & therefore cannot provide vegan options.

A deposit is required to make reservations on special days of the year, on our special events, or for tables of 6 or more. This is paid over the phone by calling 01803 200044.

Children's menu is only available at lunch for ages 10 and under.

Tasting menu only available in the evening unless requested via phone in advance.

    Having made the booking well ahead of time to celebrate my son's birthday, it was lovely to be rung by The Elephant on the day to confirm our booking. On arrival, there was also a birthday card for Harry from the team. Such nice touches. The food was beautifully presented and tasted out of this world. The service was impecable and the ambience and decor is stunning. We hope to be back again next year!

    The whole evening was lovely 😍 the staff were very helpful and friendly...the restaurant manager went out of his way..was courteous and efficient we really enjoyed the whole time.....thanks again 😀

    Our first time visiting, we were very impressed with the service, ambience and food. They went over and beyond as I am fussy and do not like certain foods, recommending what would suit my palette. Would definitely come again. Thank you

    The food is terrific, the flavours are amazing and each component of each dish is discernible as a unique and fulfilling flavour. The staff are attentive and friendly whilst maintaining a professional attitude. We come here at least 4 times a year and I would highly recommend the Elephant inTorquay for anyone who loves good food and great service.

    We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The team made our visit a great experience. The several gorgeous courses of food and the knowledgeable and helpful front of house team made it a great occasion. Thank you to all involved, both the front and back of house teams.
