This was a special menu for Valentines day. Overall there were items on this menu that were good and some not so good. The overall theme though was a tart flavor through all dishes. There was a couple stand outs but the main which was a duck breast was not very good. The skin was not crispy and the meat was tough, it left a lot to be desired. I found this place by looking online and seeing others rave about their steaks and seafood. I don't think this menu lived up to what other reviewers said. I may go back but only if I know the menu before hand. With a automatic gratuity also doesn't give you any flexibility to tip what you feel was deserved. For over 500 for two people it did leave a lot to be desired. I would not spend that again for what we were served.

The people at The Elderberry House do a good job living up to very high expectations. It is “the place” to go for fine dining in the valley, in my opinion.

For my wife, two guests and I; this was our first time to experience the Elderberry House. My guests have lived in Fresno for 60 years...they messaged me that this was the best dining experience of their lives. The signature drinks (for an amazing price of $10) at the bar, the ambiance, the food, the service...hard to beat!

The food was incredibly salty and wine pairings did not compliment the entrees. Wine compensated for the incredibly salty meals. Staff were eager to wait but seemed to be poorly trained on how to provide a fine dining experience. Several times my glass was empty and crumbs lay on my table as entrees were placed over and on top of these crumbs.

An expensive disappointment.. The food was ok, but not great and surely didn’t match our expectations based on the price level. We paid around 550$ for dinner for two and a glass of wine each (they automatically charge 22% in service fee and ask for tips as well). The service was fair but not impressive compared to the 22% service fee and the expectation of a tip on top. We expected a full evening experience but it seemed like the waiters were a little too busy clearing the table after each dish which made it difficult to enjoy the food and relax. The ambience was quiet and nice but the interior and decor needed an update. Overall it was way too expensive compared to the overall experience.

We had the 5 course meal with wine pairing on Christmas Eve and were extremely impressed!! Every course was a delight and the wines were outstanding. The service was perfect—and the sommelier (Ericka) was very knowledgable and well versed about the wines. It was a fantastic experience and I would recommend The Elderberry House as a foodies delight….

This is the third high tea I have attended here. While the service is lovely and attentive, it is concerning that they have never served a scone and cream. The sandwiches this time tasted as if they had been prepared much too far in advance as well. Not sure I will be returning.

I came here for the first time, and I guess I expected more for what you have to pay. It’s $85/ person which is fine, but what they don’t tell you ahead of time is that there is an automatic 22% service fee. It was just my husband and I, and our bill came to $245! Other than what is included in the original pricing, my husband had one mimosa that was $16. The food was good, and they did accommodate me for my dietary restrictions, which I appreciate, but again - for the price, I think the service could’ve been better. I think they could have more tea offerings as well. The person who served us (Erica) was nice, but not that attentive compared to other staff at other tables. She also seemed to just be talking to my husband after a while, as if I wasn’t even there which I thought was kind of weird or even a little bit rude. She seemed to be very attentive and even sparked up conversations with the table next to us, but didn’t bother with any of that with us. I probably won’t be back because of the price alone. If the service was better, I would reconsider.

Excellent service and the food is presented as a culinary experience. Dinner takes about 2 hours. Each course is beautifully presented with an explanation given as to what it is and how it was prepared. Everything was great. Truthfully, the dessert was good, but not WOW! But each course was delicious. This is a 5 star restaurant so the price matches that and they add a 22% service charge to the meal, so plan to drop some $$$$. This was a special treat for a special occasion.

There’s no question that the facility, the service, and the ambience are outstanding. The value, however, is seriously lacking. The food was very good, and creative in its use of unusual ingredients. But a bill for $333 for two of the least expensive menu items, one cocktail, two inexpensive glasses of wine, and two coffees is pretty absurd. Portion sizes were very small, my poached halibut entrée was a four ounce piece of halibut in a broth with diced green and yellow squash. That was the entire entree. My husband’s ribeye was just two small pieces of meat, probably 6 to 8 bites altogether. That is not to say that we left hungry, we did not, but it felt like the food was minimalist while the bill was definitely not. But what really bothered me was after a mandatory 22% service fee, there was a line on the bill for a tip. That felt somewhat insulting, and kind of put a damper on the entire evening for me.

Delicious, inventive and unexpected flavors from The amuse-bouche to dessert- will definitely make the journey back next time we’re in this part of the state.

Service and ambience - excellent. Every element provided during dinner was delicious and enjoyed - except the main course. This was described as a Rib Eye Steak. We received small 3oz medallions of some tender cut that presented in an underwhelming way that distracted from the rest. In contrast our guest’s Halibut was generous!

Gorgeous architecture and decor, intimate dining at its finest with attentive staff. My palate enjoyed an explosion of many different flavors and textures like none other. It’s an experience to be enjoyed. Many thanks to everyone behind the scene.
