For over 30 years, The Elderberry House has been recognized as the premier fine dining destination in the area. This European haven, nestled in the Sierra Mountains just minutes from Yosemite National Park, lends itself to an unforgettable evening for gourmands and wine enthusiasts.

Dinner at The Elderberry House is a thrill for the senses, showcasing seasonal ingredients from local farms that harvest exclusively for our culinary team. We are currently offering a seasonal three or five-course tasting menu. Start the evening off with a hand-crafted cocktail at The Cellar, a craft cocktail bar.

In order to provide you with the best dining experience, we request 48-hour advance notice for any guests with dietary/allergy restrictions. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available, kindly let us know in advance.

    Let me preamble that I visit quality restaurants within the US and overseas including those with three true Michelin stars. I usually do not provide feedback , but feel compelled to do so for a restaurant that touts itself as a “five diamond” experience but does not deliver on its claim. This was my fourth visit to the restaurant over the last few years. Comments: The Elderberry restaurant’s chef should focus less on over-the-top presentation involving non-consumable items and more on the quality of the food. Guests like to enjoy ambiance and service, but mostly top quality food. One of the “courses” was a tiny bitesize loaf of average quality homemade bread for 2, served on a platter decorated with tree leaves and chunks of charcoal around it, the “wildfire dish”. Hardly deserving the title “dish” and showing insensitivity to those in the area who lost it all during the wildfires. The fish main course was truly overly salty and had to be returned. Rather embarrassing. The rib eye was difficult to chew ... .I have made better steaks at home. The desert was a tart cake cup with pieces of popcorn on top that were difficult to eat. My guest and I both took only one bite . . . The service is pleasant and professional for Oakhurst CA standards, but the food itself was mediocre that night and way out there in terms of creativity and non-consumable item presentation (the wild tattoos on the chef’s arms may explain . . ) Three course dinner took over two hours and we had to wait before getting the bill while it was clear that we were ready to leave. Conclusion: not worth the $350 we spent on a 3 “course” meal, a bottle of water and 2 cocktails, and no true comparison to fine European and top restaurants one can find in major US cities. Efforts to get hold of a someone to share my thoughts with this afternoon were politely blown off by a representative: the manager was in meetings and the chef had gone home for the day . . .

    Genuinely innovative and delicious food in a charming chateau like setting. Excellent service. My guess is that The Elderberry House is the best high end restaurant in the entire area.

    Fabulous meal - 3 course tasting menu was plenty of food for each of us. Wine pairings were excellent. Exceptionally creative and delicious. Only complaint was the private party in room adjoining the main dining area - no door to room made it impossible to block out the commotion of the group.

    We have been going to The Elderberry House for years. It is always a class act and never disappoints with the menu. This visit was the first time all four wines we ordered left us wanting. Sauvinon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot and Cab were fine but no where near what we have experienced in the past. There was always one or two that we had to add to our collection. Eh.. the experience was awesome. The music was a wonderful change; decades of memories flowed throughout our meal, we loved that!

    What a wonderful experience! The server’s explanation of the presented foods, was professional and knowledgeable! The food was beautiful, full of detail and flavor! We had a diet restriction and that was met, beautifully! I had no problem spending the money to experience a very delicious 5-course meal! Thank you! We will be back!

    Service, food, and atmosphere are all good. The only downside is that they already charged service fee about 22% and then there was a space to write tip additionally. You should check the bill carefully.

    We had the three course tasting menu. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Only main course was a little small, we had been hiking most of the day, some of us still feel hungry afterwards.

    The staff was excellent, the presentation was very good, wine server and selection was wonderful. The menu was the most disappointing. Very limited for a French American restaurant. The two selections were a 3 course and a 5 course. The 2 choices were identically the same with the exception of the 5 course had one additional item, greens and grains. Not sure how they came up with 3 & % when it should have been 4 or 5. Sea urchins, Ahi tuna, smoked trout in a broth (so,so), Duck. No Hors D'euvres, escargot, beef,chicken , pork, sauces. We chose the 5 course and my wife may have taken two bites. The 5 course was $145 each, we ordered a bottle of wine, excellent, for $153 and one additional glass. The bill came to $614 and I added a 20% gratuity. The next morning I realized the bill should have been in the $445 - $460 range. Not sure if the gratuity was included for serving two people, if so the server should have informed me.

    Took my wife to The Elderberry House 8/3/23 for her birthday. From the service to the food and dining experience, everything was amazing. Erica the general manager was amazing and had a wonderful and uplifting personality. Food was exquisite and the plating was like food for the eyes. Lol. I haven’t had food like that since I left San Diego. We will definitely be coming back for more delicious food, great conversations and lasting memories. Thank you Elderberry staff for an amazing night.

    High Tea at The Elderberry House is a marvelous experience. While the ambiance is beautiful and the food is delectable, the servers really make the High Tea experience. Their attentive nature make the difference in High Tea at the Elderberry House compared with other High Teas. Special shout out to our server, Jesse. He is the consummate professional who always makes our visits to The Elderberry House amazing. We will be back!

    It's an oddly situated place - probably it's closeness to Yosemite is what makes it work. Since it's a fairly expensive hotel as well I assume the guests has no other option than to dine there. Staff was great and very helpful, but I was in no way impressed by the food given the price point. Fairly generic for a "french" restaurant, but prepared with little caution. Too salty, overcooked or just fishy. Wine was way above normal mark up.

    I highly recommend the Elderberry House as it was one of my favorite dinners I have ever had. From the excellent service to the ambiance and the delicious food. I recommend getting the wine pairing as they have a knowledgeable sommelier who chose incredible wines for every course. A must do if you are in the Oakhurst area!

    The seating was spaced out and available. Unfortunately the hostess stacked everyone on top of each other. To the point the table next to us were commenting on our food items. Awkward, and univiited.

    Where to even begin? We had a fabulous celebration dinner at Elderberry House! The food was delicious and creative. The wine pairings were unusual and tasty. The courses were paced well and we enjoyed every second.

    All dishes on the three-course prix fixe menu was divine. The service was very warm and attentive. The ambience was that of a French château. The restaurant made our birthday celebration very special with custom printed menus and accommodating our gluten-free requirement. We loved every minute of our experience.

    We had a wonderful meal that was completely personalized to our food preferences. It was our 28th wedding anniversary. Our menus were personalized with our names and acknowledged our anniversary. We opted for the 5 course meal with the wine pairing for each course. Everything was perfectly prepared, elegantly served, and just topped with amazing service.

    There aren't many high end restaurants open on the 4th of July. Elderberry House has been our go-to place to celebrate our anniversary for the third year in a row. It is a very special celebratory restaurant, the dining room is elegant and the food is always excellent. The service is friendly and attentive, every detail is taken care of with perfect timing by smiling staff members. The presentation of the food is beautiful as well as so delicious! Never disappointed, always wonderful!

    Awesome restaurant!!! Jessie was is the best. Go for the wine pairing with all 5 courses. Was so much fun. The people are the nicest and have a cocktail after on their outside patio area. Worth every cent!

    The Elderberry House is located in a beautiful spot, amid trees and colorful flowers. The service was impeccable, very nice and attentive staff. The food on the other hand was underwhelming. It came beautifully presented but it lack the taste that was expected from this high end restaurant. The trout was thick and a little fishy, the duck was too smoky so it drowned the taste of the duck itself, the amuse-bouche consisted of a gelatinous broth that was a little hard to swallow. I will not be coming back.

    The Elderberry House is a very special place to eat. The food, service and ambiance are first class. It is not your typical restaurant. Dining here is a next level experience but unfortunately not one that most can afford. With that said, the value is better than you would find in most other areas.

    Amazing service and outstanding food, it was a delight to meet the chef. We had a gorgeous table by the window with a garden view. We chose the six chorus started with a Uni, which was delightful, black truffle tortellini is a must have as is the fish. Will be back again someday.
