I came here for the first time, and I guess I expected more for what you have to pay. It’s $85/ person which is fine, but what they don’t tell you ahead of time is that there is an automatic 22% service fee. It was just my husband and I, and our bill came to $245! Other than what is included in the original pricing, my husband had one mimosa that was $16. The food was good, and they did accommodate me for my dietary restrictions, which I appreciate, but again - for the price, I think the service could’ve been better. I think they could have more tea offerings as well. The person who served us (Erica) was nice, but not that attentive compared to other staff at other tables. She also seemed to just be talking to my husband after a while, as if I wasn’t even there which I thought was kind of weird or even a little bit rude. She seemed to be very attentive and even sparked up conversations with the table next to us, but didn’t bother with any of that with us. I probably won’t be back because of the price alone. If the service was better, I would reconsider.

Excellent service and the food is presented as a culinary experience. Dinner takes about 2 hours. Each course is beautifully presented with an explanation given as to what it is and how it was prepared. Everything was great. Truthfully, the dessert was good, but not WOW! But each course was delicious. This is a 5 star restaurant so the price matches that and they add a 22% service charge to the meal, so plan to drop some $$$$. This was a special treat for a special occasion.

There’s no question that the facility, the service, and the ambience are outstanding. The value, however, is seriously lacking. The food was very good, and creative in its use of unusual ingredients. But a bill for $333 for two of the least expensive menu items, one cocktail, two inexpensive glasses of wine, and two coffees is pretty absurd. Portion sizes were very small, my poached halibut entrée was a four ounce piece of halibut in a broth with diced green and yellow squash. That was the entire entree. My husband’s ribeye was just two small pieces of meat, probably 6 to 8 bites altogether. That is not to say that we left hungry, we did not, but it felt like the food was minimalist while the bill was definitely not. But what really bothered me was after a mandatory 22% service fee, there was a line on the bill for a tip. That felt somewhat insulting, and kind of put a damper on the entire evening for me.

What a beautiful dinner to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. Our menus were specially printed with our party name and Happy Anniversary. Really nice personal touch. Delicious, inventive and unexpected flavors from The amuse-bouche to dessert- will definitely make the journey back next time we’re in this part of the state.

I have been here several times and it is always perfect. The food is amazing, the service impeccable and the atmosphere is classic. We drive 5 hours round trip just to eat here (we always stay the night) and it it always worth the time, money and distance.

Service and ambience - excellent. Every element provided during dinner was delicious and enjoyed - except the main course. This was described as a Rib Eye Steak. We received small 3oz medallions of some tender cut that presented in an underwhelming way that distracted from the rest. In contrast our guest’s Halibut was generous!

We really enjoyed ourselves at the Tea. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. My only complaint is that the Ladies Room was not stocked properly. No toilet seats, skimpy toilet paper and I got the last actual towel. As we were the first Brunch seating, it is obvious that the bathroom had been inspected in the morning.

The Tyler Vintners dinner was terrific. Each course was paired with a specific wine and a duo from the winery and restaurant introduced the food and wine selections before each course. There were only 7-8 tables occupied, so it was an intimate experience. The service was impeccable-attentive, professional, and friendly. I particularly liked that the winery rep visited each table to talk about the history of the wines. The dining room felt very old-European luxurious. An excellent spot for that special dinner!

We decided to celebrate our 25th anniversary and we weren’t disappointed! What an incredible place. The dinner was truly a culinary adventure of savory and sweet decadents and we defiantly felt like we were spoiled and pampered all night by all the staff. It was truly perfect and the personalized touches throughout our visit made this Anniversary one to remember. Oh and the place is stunning. You will definitely not be disappointed! Wish they changed their menu more often or offered more entree choices for those who spend a weekend at the chateau and wish to dine nightly. Service is not what it used to be, but still good. Attention to detail in the dining room not what it used to be- burned out lights on art, etc. , small things but they make a difference in overall experience. Bartender is INCREDIBLE, inventive cocktails, friendly service, nice cellar atmosphere.

Elderberry House was a fantastic dining experience. We opted for the 5-course dinner and two of our party chose the wine pairing. The food was spectacular; each course was both visually appealing and delicious. The portions were modest so we were able to enjoy all the courses. It is definitely a splurge, but well worth it!

Incredibly delightful experience! We started with a cocktail in The Cave bar and it as escorted into the dining room. The 5-course dinner is more like 8, when you take into account the chef’s surprises. Everything executed to perfection.

Let me preamble that I visit quality restaurants within the US and overseas including those with three true Michelin stars. I usually do not provide feedback , but feel compelled to do so for a restaurant that touts itself as a “five diamond” experience but does not deliver on its claim. This was my fourth visit to the restaurant over the last few years. Comments: The Elderberry restaurant’s chef should focus less on over-the-top presentation involving non-consumable items and more on the quality of the food. Guests like to enjoy ambiance and service, but mostly top quality food. One of the “courses” was a tiny bitesize loaf of average quality homemade bread for 2, served on a platter decorated with tree leaves and chunks of charcoal around it, the “wildfire dish”. Hardly deserving the title “dish” and showing insensitivity to those in the area who lost it all during the wildfires. The fish main course was truly overly salty and had to be returned. Rather embarrassing. The rib eye was difficult to chew ... .I have made better steaks at home. The desert was a tart cake cup with pieces of popcorn on top that were difficult to eat. My guest and I both took only one bite . . . The service is pleasant and professional for Oakhurst CA standards, but the food itself was mediocre that night and way out there in terms of creativity and non-consumable item presentation (the wild tattoos on the chef’s arms may explain . . ) Three course dinner took over two hours and we had to wait before getting the bill while it was clear that we were ready to leave. Conclusion: not worth the $350 we spent on a 3 “course” meal, a bottle of water and 2 cocktails, and no true comparison to fine European and top restaurants one can find in major US cities. Efforts to get hold of a someone to share my thoughts with this afternoon were politely blown off by a representative: the manager was in meetings and the chef had gone home for the day . . .
