   Booked here for my birthday meal, fantastic experience! We had the 7 course tasting menu , with a great selections of wines along side the courses. Violetta done a fantastic job of looking after us and explaining the wines. Personal favourite courses would be the pigeon and the wild strawberry & lemon gateaux!

   Fabulous, beautifully presented, delicious food and wine. Fresh flavours. Not over salted. Stunning looking dishes and serving vessels etc beautiful. Can’t wait to come again.

   We had a sensational dinner last night. We ordered matching wines and the pairings were excellent. My husband would have happily sat and drunk a vat of the opening broth. Other highlights were the exquisite sea trout, the veloute and the wellington. Desserts were stunning. A real special occasion restaurant and a complete treat.

   This was by far the best meal we had in Bath. Great dishes in a nice space, reasonably priced compared to other places with similar offerings.

   I booked the 7 course tasting menu whilst on a short break in Bath. Although I was travelling alone I was made welcome on arrival and the serving staff were professional but also friendly. The menu choices were explained in detail and my welcome cocktail was delicious. Each course came at a leisurely pace and the portions were just right considering how many were to follow. For me the highlights were the "amuse bouche" of tempura battered hake and the venison main course. I had a wonderful evening, one to remember, and would consider it good value for a special occasion. Thank you, I will return if ever I visit Bath again.

   Not the greatest experience. I think they were understaffed for our visit, which led to being forgotten about. However the food too, wasn't amazing, essentially not for the price point.

Unfortunately, the combination of great weather, the rugby game, and some staffing challenges led to delays in service, which we deeply regret.    The food at The Elder was outstanding, though having to wait an hour for our bread was slightly frustrating. A small intimate dining experience booked for may husband's birthday, ruined however by the loud , maybe slightly inebriated lady on the other side of the small dining area who was involving everyone in her conversations and had no consideration for other guests' personal space. The choice of rather antiquated lounge music wasn't a great choice either. Overall a pleasant evening, but when you are spending a huge amount of money on a romantic dinner for two, there are definitely a few tweaks needed.

   The food was excellent and the service professional. The only thing which let them down was the food espresso coffee which was weak and cold. I would happily go again however I much preferred The Elder before they changed to a tasting menu.
